nice vids of classic car ownership. Brings me back to my 75 Camaro days of firing her up after a winter sleep. My 2011 Camaro SS is too new to gift me with such experiences as I drive it every day so the feeling of getting the car back on the road is missed (a bit)
Back in the day either a quiet neighborhood or a shopping center you always knew a Chrysler was turning over that classic deep reduction starter. though many of the slant 6 ones as I recall like my old dart swinger would fool you as the starter unwound you put it in reverse and the fucker did not fire. Lol good times fun cars!
My car does that after just 1 week with out a start... it's that crummy gasoline. Its horrible for carbureted engines. All that ethanol evaporates after a certain period of time and the left over gums up and makes it really difficult to start
Hi, do me one favour: Keep the most beautiful car in the world alive and give some polish and oil, if it wants. And try to remove the bump in your front bumper. You really have am beauty!!!
We have got a very good hint for you to keeping the nice old Engine in good shape with todays ultra dry eco fuels: Use 1:100 (1%) API TC two stroke oil / fuel mix as regular driving fuel, that keeps the old fuel-system gaskets, rubber parts, alloy parts etc... and cast iron metal surfaces of those vintage engines in excellent shape...and it also lubricates the valves and upper piston regions. Most Porsche vintage owners in Germany do so :) Also keeps carbs/Injection and tank clean and rustfree!
Has aftermarket intake and exhaust manifolds, sounds like a performance camshaft as well. If it's a Holley carburetor, you can probably retrofit a choke if you want one.
@kalapala123 Were the 360's stock engines for Europe? It seems that I have seen a few European videos of 1970 Challengers on youtube, and they all have 360's in them. Or are these the most plentiful mopar engines across the pond?
@culcun I don't know about stock engines back then. I think there were same engine options available for both U.S. and export models. Many U.S. made cars here are originally sold in states when new. Mine is one of those. It was imported here in 2000. Just few Challengers (and other U.S. cars too) were bought from the official dealers as new.
@kalapala123 I figure that since the 318 is plentiful, but not known as an all-out performance engine, the 360 is the next plentiful Chrysler engine which is also known for its performance capabilities and has replaced many of the more rare 340's, 383's, and 440's over the years. Looking at sites listing the specs for the Dodge Challenger/Plymouth Barracuda, there was no 360 option, but rather a 340. I doubt there were special export options.
I have visited many times in Finland and i got surprised how you love american cars cause i've never seen other place except USA who love more american cars than suomi people, and thats great, i hope to see your car running out the streets some day!
And yes, there are lots of people here interested about US (and sometimes Canadian) made cars. There's also many US car meetings all over Finland during summer time. I'm also having Buick Electra STW '86 and Olds 98 '85 that I'm using as my daily driver. Trying to add some videos about them sometime..
@kalapala123 so you got other great cars keeping you busy but you cant let a legend and beauty stand thre for a couple of months and npot use it,if i had the money i would surely try to buy it from you,but give it to someone who would appreciate and look after her(i call my cars ''her coz you handle thm like one'')
Indeed this is the REAL muscle for sure!!!. I LOVE the sound of the exhaust coming from this Brute!!! To me, imo there is nothing like the sound of a classic small or big block engine like the old chrysler corp. vehicles; as well as quite a few of the others. I would LOVE to have a car like this. :)
Mopars are known for being a little cranky but they always start eventually..Keep pumping the gas while you're cranking too..I learned to drive on a 70 Fury III with the optional 383..Wish I had that one today :)
Yeah, i hope so too. It's not currently in its original colour, it should be "dark green metallic" as you can see when i film under the hood. I'll repaint it and swap the original engine and tranny back when i have the money.
70s that was the 70s........
