I have watched this video again and again. I cant seem to watch it enough! I love this horse it is such a shame what happened her. she truly loved her job and gave it everything she had and loved every single minuet of it. everything about her is joyful. not only did the dressage world loose an amazing athlete but the horse world everywhere lost a truly one of a kind extraordinary horse. this team was truly inspirational and will continue to be always :)

@priyasworld2001 well if you look closely, the horse an rider are working as one, a sycronized team! Its beautiful because the horse enjoys working and relishes in the release of pressure the rider gives when the move is executed. Its all about harmony! Harmony is beauty....

@HorseLove6464 Dude, or Dudette, these days if that horse or any of the other horses were wild, do you know what would happen??? Wild horse roundup. Sold to a person that may or may not be a nice person, and dogfood. Yupp I said dogfood as in dogs eat them. Or slaughterhouses. Oh boy look those videos up. These days it is better for them to have a home where they are taken care of. Esspecially if they are taken care of like that horse in this video, or my horses are. With love.

@HorseLove6464 do you have any idea what this horse would do in the wild? die. yeah. these horses have been bred for centuries to do this. they are practically a different species than wild horses they dont have the instincts to survive in the wild they have instincts to perform and "dance" believe it or not. they enjoy doing their job if they didnt do you really think we could make them do it? no if this mare did not want to do this the rider would be thrown off and that would be that.

he woudnt die right away if he was wild cauz it would be used to it. if all the wild horses would die i dont think there would be any right now. a horse is ment to be wild or to be ride but it doesnt dance.... how do you know if they enjoy it ? i didnt know they talked. and if he dance its because they are obligated.. have you ever seen a wild horse dancing ? No. thats what i thought.

@HorseLove6464 no if that horse in the video was turned out in the wild i guarantee she would not survive more than a week. she wouldnt be used to it, shes grown up dancing all her life. and as the owner of a horse who "dances" i know my horse loves it. if i let him run free around in a pasture, he dances and prances just like he does in the arena. and no, horses dont talk, but if you knew anything about horses you would know that they can communicate as clearly as people, if you listen properly

@HorseLove6464 Erm YES! Dressage is based on age old contests between cavalry to see who had the best trained horse. The basic moves taught (changes, circles) depend on a solid base that you know you can rely on your horse to respond quick enough and improve overall ridden skills. Other moves such as corbette, capriole, levade or even piaffe were originally used as battle maneuvers based on stallion show off moves which other horses may use in arguments.

ridden by Andreas Helgestrand

unfortunately she died eariler this year(january 2010).

she broke her leg while she was on fold.

she is and will be missed in the world of dressage.

I agree with you andi would advise thesignsteam (if they believe this is animal abuse) to compare this horse's movements to those of salinaro with anky they will see a clear difference in the horse's attitude toward the matter

The horse is Blue Hors Matine, a danish bred, warmblood cross mare and the riders name is Andreas Helgstrand.

This was at WEG 2004? I think, hope that helped

Also, wenn das Pferd so mit dem Schweif schlägt, dann ist es unruhig. Vllt kann man es mit dem "Fußwackeln" bei Menschen beim Sitzen vergleichen- das macht man ja auch nur wenn man nervös ist

Naja Dressur und Losgelassenheit sollte demnach nichts mit Schweifschlagen und Nervösität des Pferdes zu tun haben

The rider is signaling, and chose music that fits the horse well. Notice how it changes every time she goes into a new gait? If you watch the Anky Van Grunsven (who won this competition), she actually composed the music to her horse's footfalls. Blue Hors Matinee (sorry for the spelling) is probably listening a bit though, since she is often so on time. This is my FAVORITE freestyling video! :-D

i know a women who does grand pri dressage. Her horses were crazy amazing! There necks were bigger then my body they have so much muscle. it takes about 12 years to make horses like hers. They are even better then this one, even though this one was AMAZING!

I feel so proud to be Danish. Andreas and Matiné really showed of at that show. Matiné was once a nervous and scared mare, but then, this last winter, Andreas and his trainer started the concentrated work with her, and now she is so good that I believe that in a few years, nobody can beat those two. :)
