  • Thanks! I'm a casual, self-tutoring sewing machine user, and, as others have mentioned, I only knew how to do the pull-two-strings method. Thanks! This looks like a real time saver!

  • I just did this down the middle of the backside of a bikini bottom, so it wouldn't sag on the rear when I wear it. Worked great! Thank you ma'am. :-)

  • I have been a caual sewer for a long time....but like a nuff nuff I have been using the old fashion 2 lines of stitches and hand pull all this time. I just tried it then...and perfect!! that was so incredibly simple. Thankyou for uploading! regards Kerrie from Australia

  • Yes, play with some scraps of the fabric you will be using so see how much tension you will need for whatever fabric you are using. For example a thick fabric (or a couple layers) will need a really high tension to get good gathers. For a thin or knit material you wont want it too high because then your gathers will be really ruffley. You will put the tension up and also set it so that the stitch length is as high as it will go. Cloth wipes are so easy! Perfect starter project! Good luck!

  • So just increasing the tension creates the ruffled edge? There's no need to change the type of stitch or anything? ( very very novice sewer ) * I enjoy your tutorials cuz i just purchased the same machine and am starting out by making double sided cloth baby wipes for my son*, your teaching me lots!... :) Thank you!
