Babita was indeed one of the worst actresses of her generation. Despite her lack of looks and talent she managed to be in Bollywood because her dad was a filmmaker. Her cousin and contemporary Sadhana was a class act and became a top star. Babita channeled her frustrations through her two daughters' careers and in teh case of Karishma, the B grade taste in clothes and acting skills showed till she got professional help.

@papapochu she is also ironically a great example of Hindi Cinema - yes her white skin & connections helped but only upto a certain point. Indian audiences have always rewarded the actors - there were other white girls - Nimmi, Shakila - but they did not go far either. Meanwhile dark-skinned actresses like Nutan, Sharmila, Waheeda & most recently Rani Mukherjee ruled!

Best example - dark skinned Zeenat totally beating out white-skinned Parveen, though i liked Parveen - fantastic smile.

I've heard this song before, but never seen the video. I'm totally psyched. I thought the acting, and lip-synching was exceptionally good. It really takes you into the 'dil jhoom jaaye aisi' bahaaren without need of any liquid assistance. It is so realistically done, often I was afraid she really might fall down.
