I tried Mike and Kate because so many asked and I couldn't finish that either. I'm a Dutchy fan, and I am on the Kate/Dutchy ship. Shame next season is the last, I think if were more the writers would have explored a D/K pairing, as it is they'll just tie up the Mike/Kate relationship I think.

Out of curiosity (new to the show, enjoying it quite a bit) in REAL LIFE, in The RAN, are relationships between Officers and Other Ranks taboo and against Queen's Orders and Regulations?
Here in Canada they are NOT, nor are same sex relationships taboo, BUT you can NOT serve on the same vessel and the Officer (or senior ranked) member of the couple can have ZERO input on your evals.
@BunkerGearGal Hi, my understanding is you can have a relationship with a fellow officer/sailor but they can't be in your line or command or unit (/ship).
@BunkerGearGal You cant have any sort of relationship on a navy vessel with another sailor/officer wateva there is a non - fratinisation rule which generally means if u have feelings for some one else on crew u can NEVER act on those feelings!
I just found this video... just recently catching up with season 4 of Sea Patrol.... wow... great video..... you know what.... i know that kate/dutchy would probably never happen in the show... but judging by this video... they actually have huge potential.....I wish Kate could just move on from Mike... seriously... she's been too patient with Mike.....

Mike will be off the ship and growing closer to Maxine and Kate will need a shoulder to lean on i.e. Dutchy. Mike doesn't deserve Kate, it annoys me how he always keeps his cool whenever she's in trouble - if he loved her as much as she loved him, he'd lose it once in a while.

I half expected him to kick the crap outta that fisherman to find her, I'm surprised he even asked permission to interrogate - before now he has just laid in to people...given Kate's life was on the line I wish we'd seen him lose it a bit more than he did.
@zanessandclana4ever would have to agree with that, i would have liked to see him completely lose it, for kate ;) I really liked the way he did the interrigation like kate would to begin with.. it shows his really learning from her :D
