The second I heard him say "death metal" I knew there would be this genre debate. To be honest, it's a VERY fair mistake for someone who isn't a huge metalhead (no offense to Spoony if he is, although I got the impression that he's not)-- it's brutal, it's fast, and it has growling.

Anyways, my favorite track off of the album is probably If It Bleeds, We Can Kill, mainly because of the vocal variety; as most of the songs, it has growling...but it also has high-pitched screaming!

But that also means it's not "purely" any of them; and as such, it's not purely death metal and calling it that would be misleading, just like calling (and forgive me) Children of Bodom pure power metal, even if it's mostly power (musically), is misleading. There are some melodic death metal thrown in there as well, as much so that your average power metal fan probably can't stand them (the screaming being one of the things).
