  • fuck :/

  • This happened to me on Raging blast 2

  • I know this seems like a messed up theory, but lets say for the sake of argument that Kenji wrote these infringed tracks yet he didn't know he was stealing music while doing so. For instance, he may not have even listened to the Avatar or Terminator Salvation soundtracks. I don't think you'd be able to blame him for ripping off music if he didn't know he was stealing someone else's work. He might have just had a similar music idea and just went with it without really doing any research first.

  • I always was skeptical about the quality of his music being his "own", then I listen to this. He got what came to him. Originality is still hard for the majority it seems.

  • This is missing two examples from Budokai 3:

    1. The Level Up Music vs. Chic's "Everybody Dance"

    2. The Item Pickup Music vs. Earth, Wind and Fire's "September"

At least he was straight about it in Budokai 2. Those Tower of Power shout-outs were the only good thing about that game.

  • Fuck i loved chellenger my favorite song

  • Dammit, I loved Challengers Theme! TT_TT

  • Damn, these were some sick remixes too. What a damn shame he just couldn't give credit for the ideas.

  • I UNDERSTAND. Kenji Yamamoto Z (not Kenji Y of Nintendo) was ENLIGHTENED. I came to this conclusion at the full realization of Yamamoto's plagiarism. It would seem foolish for Kenji to plagiarize for nearly EVERY score for DBZ... why would he do that? IT WAS HIS INTENTION.

Kenji called out to every spirit on the planet: "PLEASE WORLD, LEND ME YOUR ENERGY!"

The vast energy of Hollywood pouring into DBZ...

    THE GENKI DAMA of MUSIC

DBZ NEEDS the musical energies of the entire planet!

  • Challengers was one of my favorite songs. Now I figure out Kenji Yamamoto ripped it.That bastard. I'm disgusted.

  • Rappers do the same shit...but it isn't plagiarism it's more sampling. All he needed to do was reference the original artist.

  • @Extraspectacular92 um not really, rappers sample and rap over the beat where their selling point is the mix of the original song and their own lyrics, by just taking the song and basically changing it slightly in the same tempo and key is just plain stealing even if he did credit them.

  • @ninjarearJG yeah that makes more sense....=P

  • YYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!????? D:

  • I still love Yamamoto tracks.

  • Damn I'm convinced now, this sucks. ..A "THE FORMIDABLE WARRIOR" sounds just like Goro's theme song from the Mortal Kombat Movie 1, when hes throwing ma**uckas left and right. Damn this guys on a role.

  • I don't care where he got his inspiration from, I still like his tunes.

  • If there ever is a Buu saga Kikuchi should compose some new scores for it. And get some other composer to make songs with him. I wonder how having the guy how composed the Star Wars music or the one who composed the Baludr's Gate music. I have a few composers in mind, but curse it I have to go to sleep. I'll list them tomorrow or something.

  • @SSJProtecter Nope, have the guy who did the UT cutscenes make music for it.

  • @Dave102693

UT has some good music. That would great

  • @SSJProtecter That's great that you agree with me.

  • Why are the japs always ripping off of stuff and then poorly imitating it? It's kinda sad, as if they're trying to fit in the Western World, kinda like a geek from school who's trying to fit in with the jocks.

  • @VladFerdinand1 China's just as guilty, dude, if not more so. Ever seen that Super Mario Galaxy ripoff?

  • @VladFerdinand1 Do not generalize a whole nation, it's not fair.

  • Wow, respect all loss to Kenji..what a loserrrrrrr..a fake career

  • Kenji Yanamoto is a pretty cool guy. He plagiarizes other people's work and doesn't afraid of anything.

  • @Source90000 arby 'n' the chief?

  • is it wrong that i still love the fitting tracks anyway? He should have like legally sampled them at least. well the way he used them was more than just "sampled" so I guess he deserved to be fired.

  • He just made better re-visions :)..but should have asked for permission shame on you :(

  • all i can say is that i'm pretty disappointed. i really liked some of the songs on kai (especially The Formidable Warrior, the Saiyan). toei handled this incident pretty clumsily but plagiarism is illegal. still, i'm pretty darn sad. :(

  • Disappointed.

But BPU still is Yamamoto's best work, be or not a plagiarised track.

  • He had been doing this till now wow they caught on in 2010 like u fire him 3 episodes before the finale they should have given Yamamoto the boot after the end of Kai

  • The Terminator one... just...

    /facepalm

  • Realmente es triste pero esto es así, un plagio. algunos casos son muy notorios.

  • Wow! Those DBZ Kai BGMs and Terminator musics are 90% identical.

  • that fool was stealin his ass off!

  • At least this guy had a good taste in music

  • he stole every single fucking song

    god damnit

  • straight up stole.should of sample the shit.

  • PLAGIO TOTAL!!!

  • For a moment I thought this was evidence that the composer of Metroid's music stole other people's work. I'm glad to know that there are in fact two Japanese composers with that name.

Also: why would any composer (even a Japanese one) be dumb enough to plagiarize Danny Elfman, whose music is probably heard by hundreds of millions of people? So what if Cell is like DBZ's version of the Terminator and Trunks is similar to John Connor and Kyle Reese, artistic license is not necessarily an excuse.

  • Similarities are one thing. This is completely fucking outrageous.

  • Wow...Infinity too?! No WONDER i thought it was one of the best songs in the game! Ha, guess I also a fan of Stratovarius!

  • At least Kenji Yamamoto didn't rip off music from Miley Cyrus, most notably Can't Be Tamed

  • lol this dude stole ALOTTA people beats!

  • Well... a lot of his songs were supposed to be covers but he didn't have the proper rights to cover it.

  • He might be well known for Plagiarising the music he makes from various sources but most people don't realise that he in fact plagiarised his OWN NAME from the NES composer Kenji Yamamoto who wrote the Super Metroid music. True story *nods*

  • I was watching the NA broadcast today and it has the Kenji Yamamoto tracks with android 19 and 20. Did they work something out? It seems hard to imagine they could get things settled, probably costly too, but it's there again.

  • I hope all of the Kai work doesn't disappear from the world though.. I mean I have some ultimate favorites from there that I didn't find were copied from anyone =/

  • I feel like my childhood memories of downloading emulators and playing the hell out of the older games and right up until the present day all got durped on by Kenji Yamamoto of the Borg (though their assimilation is probably above the law lol).

Well, I still like the sound that he put out.. even if it came from some other composer's ass >.> (all of those memories smell like meta-foreign ass now.)

  • wat a cocksucker, stratovarius ftw

  • Lol I thought I was the only one who noticed the simularities between Namek Theme and Hunting High and Low

  • Well this... This is extremely disheartening. Kenji Yamamoto was one of my favorite musicians, due to his work on the Dragon Ball Z Super Butouden series. But after seeing this, I'm a tad bit less thrilled by his work... I can't believe my absolute favorite track, Cell's theme from Super Butouden 2, was ripped off from a Pink Floyd album, of all things. I feel like my heart's been ripped out. As a huge fan of his work, this really hurts. But then, the truth often does...

    Thank you.

  • There is a track in Burst Limit that I swear is exactly like Minus Human by Metallica, which are my fave band, but even so....

  • HE RIPED CHALLENGERS FROM ANOTHER BAND.

    There goes my childhood ;(

Well in retrospect, now i'm a fan of Stratovarius!

  • @snakeisninja Same here, thanks to Yamamoto, I started to listen to Stratovarius. :)

  • @Dave102693 They really rock, I think I love their versions more than the one's from Budokai, ecspecailly "Infinity" (aka Warrior from an Unknown Land).

    Yamamoto may have plagiarized music...

but you've got to admit: The guy had great taste.

  • @snakeisninja Yamamoto does have great taste when it comes to plagiarizims at least lol

  • Sonic alway look up to DBZ in every way: the 7 chaos emeralds to the 7 dragonballs. super sonic to super saiyan. Werehog to the Oozaru. Now even ripping off music from famous music artist and composer!! LOL!!!

  • what a dumbass. he couldve at least plagiarized from unknown obscure composers, but instead decided to steal not just one but several pieces from hugely popular movies like terminator and avatar.

  • @sloth85

plagiarized is bad no matter if its from a Famous company or poor company if he stole from people who weren't famous makes him even cheaper.

  • @WhiteFangOfTheLeaf

I think he meant, if that dude didn't want to get caught he should have plagiarized from less well known composers, because taking several pieces from hugely popular movies is just too damn obvious. He wasn't saying it would be ok for him to do it, just that it was really stupid to go for easily recognizable ones.

  • i'm confused why they even made a new soundtrack for the series.. the original BGM was best.....

  • @adiosfenix Why would someone even complain on new music? geez the old one is there whenever you want.

  • @TheEternalMercy um.. cuz it's plagiarized duhh.. that's why Lol!

  • @adiosfenix maybe but yamamoto totally improved what he copied. and I'm really sick of kikuchi, his DB Score was far better than his DBZ Score anyways

  • and whats the songs at 11:32 and 8:46

  • @TheBigdog3456

8:46 - A New Foe Rears His Head

11:32 - The Ebb and The Flow

  • that suck the kai music was so much better

  • @TheBigdog3456 Kai's music? The music was stolen from others artists, so Kikuchi's music is the "true" music to the series.
