Thanks for this. Very helpful to watch good technique. Question--it's true that the resistance setting is often left at 10 in the gym. I put it at 7. Josh recommends it be set to 4, but doesn't say why. Anyone?
I'm a semi-profesional rower and coach. Josh said al the important stuff.
But be carefull: the 'recover' (forward slide motion) is meant to recover you're physic and posture. this means you can count too 1 on the powerfull drive backwards. continue counting 2, 3 in the relaxed, forward sliding motion.
i fucking glad that u mentioned that the power is 80% legs cause i fucking hate it when ppl come up to u and be like, "o u do crew ur arms must be strong" fucking bugs the crap outa me!
Got a question Josh. I was checking out the clip and it seems that the position of your elbows and hard are at an angle, that is they are not at level (parallel to the floor). How important is that when you finish the stroke?
Whoa! Finally, a guy who can really row. Look at that hinge and powerful drive. You won't find this anywhere else on You Tube! Perfect! Give us a few more, Josh!
Very Good. Tanks

if you're using a Concept 2, setting the damper between 3 and 4, is what Concept 2 says most closely resembles the resistance of the water.
Indo-Row is now done on Water Rowers, that use water tanks instead of fans. there is no resistance setting as the water itself offers resistance.

correction for the question below, it is elbow and hand (not hard).

You want the elbows relaxed... not tucked in by the side and not our like wings. Hope that helps.

You sure are a pro! I just read a porfile on Crosby in the Boston Globe last weekend. He is a 4 x national team rower
and world champion. He has been in a boat since he was 6 because his dad and grandpa were rowers too.

This comment has received too many negative votes show
his technique isn't bad for a nonrower, but it's still too mechanical. you can tell he's never been in a boat.
