This movie was scary and I still do not understand how the collector was still alive. He found the ambulance and was able to get his giant red case from the blown up house. Otherwise super scary and suspenseful.
The Collector works like a spider. Spiders can move 20x as fast with their web sling-shot out then without it. Typical, the Collector did something of this matter, maybe he had a hook hooked to the house so he could zip-line to the road in-case of emergency?
The Collector is WEARING GLOVES and ends up unlocking the doors, after he does so; he wipes off the SAME lock that Arkin touched with his BARE-FINGERS. Now, why would The Collector do this when he has been wearing gloves the whole time? That is why I feel my theory MAY be probable; but not likely. Along with the other shit I listed.
In particular, when Arkin enters the house and goes upstairs. He hears the Collector enter the house as well. He then dodges his presence and returns back to where he got into the house at. That is where about 5-6 extra locks are on the doors. He puts his finger inside one of the door-lock holes and then moves about his way as he realizes he won't be able to escape through that door without causing much sound to be heard. Later in the movie , around the time the daughter returns....
For anyone wanting to know details about the sequel, Here you go: entitled The Collection. Arkin escapes with his life from the vicious grips of "The Collector" during an entrapment party where he adds beautiful Elena to his "Collection." Instead of recovering from the trauma, Arkin is suddenly abducted from the hospital by mercenaries hired by Elena's wealthy father. Arkin is blackmailed to team up with the mercenaries and track down The Collector's booby trapped warehouse and save Elena.

The Collector is one of my favorite horror film characters and I've only seen one movie with him in it. And by one of my favorites, I mean he is my favorite at the moment. This may be because the other horror film villains are over-saturated to me since 95% of the movies I like/watch are horror >=D

@MsGoldsworthy He was one of the exterminators that they briefly showed in the beginning of the film when the folks were moving into the house. Movie time passed, and he rigged the house and made it a game of death. The guy that plays the Collector is a creepy guy anyway in most of his movies, such as "A Man Apart" and "Crocodile Dundee II".

This movie was absolutely amazing, and definitely one of the best of the decade. I only hope that there won't be many sequels that follow. There is being a follow-up due to come out soon called "The Collection", and I hope that's it. Also, this is one of the rare horror movies that keeps you on the edge of your seat the ENTIRE time. There is absolutely no down time once the intensity sets in, and this is one of those rare modern horror films that has suspense as well as gore. A horror triumph!
@SonicThunderBYG - I agree with EVERYTHING you posted. I just watched it and I think a sequel would be great as long as they keep it to one sequel and not a series like Saw.
I noticed a few differences from the 1st trailer also (line changes, a torch instead of matches and a newer shotgun).
@shinrahunter The original Saw was a great horror/crime drama, and the sequel was pretty damn good as well. After that, they just became formulaic and boring. Finally, with The Collector there's a chance that this suspense-laden masterpiece of a horror movie won't be bent over a pool table and raped into a franchise. With a movie like The Collector, you could wrap up the story with just one more movie. Look at Alien, The Terminator, Frankenstein (1931) and others. This sequel could be great.
The first Saw movies really was great and totally new when it came out. Saw 2 was good and I don't mind Saw 3 but after that it just got daft - especially when they cast actors who look identical in opposing roles lmao.

Because I saw a review on this, and The Director said He wanted to make it feel like a new horror icon was born. He even told us that he wants "The Collector" to be a major character in Horror. To make him like a Michael Myers, Freddy, and Jason type of thing. That's what he was going for. I don't know if there will be more than 2, I have no idea But I think there might be.

My main problem with this is that it is far more convoluted than all the Saw movies put together (and that's saying something). What killer would go to all this trouble, rig so many traps, and make everything so goddamn complicated? You go in, you kill the family, you grab one, you move on. No bear traps, fish hooks, barbed wire, or attack dogs necesarry.

This film is the biggest pile of crap ever. It annoys me how many people think its awesome. Yeah its gory but it just makes no sense. The main char goes home and come back to rob his bosses house about 4 hours later and finds a tonne of traps, yeah great idea. But the sheer complexity of the traps alone would have taken a team of experts about a week to set up round the clock and were supposed to believe this serial killer had time to set this shit up.........

They are making a collector 2. If it's anything like the first, it will SUCK. Hollywood never let's a guy live at the end of horror films.The Collector 2 has a female killing the psycho which is a good thing because I'm sick of Hollywood's obsession with evil winning in the end. Only for once I'd like to see a dude be the survivor and not some screaming blond chick.

The Collector works like a spider. Spiders can move 20x as fast with their web sling-shot out then without it. Typical, the Collector did something of this matter, maybe he had a hook hooked to the house so he could zip-line to the road in-case of emergency?

The Collector is WEARING GLOVES and ends up unlocking the doors, after he does so; he wipes off the SAME lock that Arkin touched with his BARE-FINGERS. Now, why would The Collector do this when he has been wearing gloves the whole time? That is why I feel my theory MAY be probable; but not likely. Along with the other shit I listed.

In particular, when Arkin enters the house and goes upstairs. He hears the Collector enter the house as well. He then dodges his presence and returns back to where he got into the house at. That is where about 5-6 extra locks are on the doors. He puts his finger inside one of the door-lock holes and then moves about his way as he realizes he won't be able to escape through that door without causing much sound to be heard. Later in the movie , around the time the daughter returns....

Movie time passed, and he rigged the house and made it a game of death. The guy that plays the Collector is a creepy guy anyway in most of his movies, such as "A Man Apart" and "Crocodile Dundee II".

This movie was absolutely amazing, and definitely one of the best of the decade. I only hope that there won't be many sequels that follow. There is being a follow-up due to come out soon called "The Collection", and I hope that's it. Also, this is one of the rare horror movies that keeps you on the edge of your seat the ENTIRE time. There is absolutely no down time once the intensity sets in, and this is one of those rare modern horror films that has suspense as well as gore. A horror triumph!

@shinrahunter The original Saw was a great horror/crime drama, and the sequel was pretty damn good as well. After that, they just became formulaic and boring. Finally, with The Collector there's a chance that this suspense-laden masterpiece of a horror movie won't be bent over a pool table and raped into a franchise. With a movie like The Collector, you could wrap up the story with just one more movie. Look at Alien, The Terminator, Frankenstein (1931) and others. This sequel could be great.

My main problem with this is that it is far more convoluted than all the Saw movies put together (and that's saying something). What killer would go to all this trouble, rig so many traps, and make everything so goddamn complicated? You go in, you kill the family, you grab one, you move on. This film is the biggest pile of crap ever. It annoys me how many people think its awesome. Yeah its gory but it just makes no sense. The main char goes home and come back to rob his bosses house about 4 hours later and finds a tonne of traps, yeah great idea. But the sheer complexity of the traps alone would have taken a team of experts about a week to set up round the clock and were supposed to believe this serial killer had time to set this shit up.........

i dont see why people are comparing this with saw...? it is nothing like it, this movie IMO was horrible, the beginning started out pretty good like it was going to be interesting, near the middle was kinda dumb, and the end went full retarded

this movie was fucken' twisted. Daydreambutterfly2 doesn't know what horror movies are anymre. you will want to see this movie trust me it was freakin' epic. Way killer then SAW.
