So much intensity. Mankey's playing raises the hair on the back of your neck. Anyone saying Johnette can't play the bass..she is tearing it up in this song. In fact, she and Harry Rushakoff (the drummer) drive this thing. Johnette doesn't like to look glamorous, and often tries to hide her good looks, but they kind of shine through this anyway. Saw em last year in Dallas, and they can still tear the place down.

I was 10 years old when The People's Temple went down. When I first heard this, I thought no one would ever write a song about it. Being the biggest CB fan in the world, it only shows that only Johnette had the cajones to write it. sing it. and pull it off. Concrete Blonde is the best and they may not make it into the hall of Fame, but have done much more for me and a lot of fans all over the world.
