  • Hello, I was just wondering how much it was, for the surgury? Thanks (= and you have done awesome!!

  • Hi Amelia,

I've just started following your posts from the beginning...trying to follow them in order. You've also been very inspiring to me so far. I was going in for Lap band surgery, and all of a sudden, since yesterday I was convinced by my doc to do the bypass. 23 Mar 10 is my date. You my dear are who I will be getting my inspiration and tips from. Thank you so much for your honesty and for documenting your journey, for people like me.

    Cheers to you.

    Christine (Ontario, Canada)

  • What was the complication Amelia??

Looking forward to more posts x

  • do you still come to Atlanta???? i would love to meet up with you and chill...

  • I have a video called "Starbucks Style Frappuccino" check it out

  • Hi, I am having surgery next week and i stumbled across your videos and have learned so much and laughed a lot also. Do you still post or have you finished that part of your life?

  • I still post, I had a emergency surgery that was a complication of gastric bypass 7 weeks ago, but people seem to still be interested in me and maintence is still something that needs to be covered so i guess I'll be around as long as i am wanted ;)

  • Hey! I've watched almost all of your videos, I'm 19 and at the beginning of my pre-op experience. My doctor suggested gastric surgery to me when I was diagnosed with a life-altering disease at only 17 years old due to my weight. I havent quite decided if I'm going to go the lap band or gastric bypass route yet, but watching your videos definetly keeps my inspired. Your georgous and its a very honest and brave thing your doing!

    Thank you so much!

  • Hey I am also 19 and pre-op and diagnosed with something serious at 18. Do you plan on making videos of your journey? I was thinking about making some because there aren't really a lot of people posting videos who are around our age. Its cool to see someone else like me on here!

  • You look amazing and im so inspired by your video's so far, im actually in the stage of thinking if i want have the procedure done also. I really want it and it would be a great decision health wise. I just worry about all the medication i half to take.

  • Aww, you are SO cute.

You mentioned loving comments, so here you go!

Actually I came across one of your videos by searching for "VitB12 shot"...and clicked on one where you talk about it (I was diagnosed w/ pernicious anemia & just gave myself a B12 at home, in my thigh muscle! OUCH!)

Anyhow, that's how I came across your video journal (a friend of mine recently had GBP so I'm interested) Pretty neat to watch such a drastic transformation in just a few videos.

    And BTW, you're gorgeous!

  • Good Morning, I am scheduled to get my surgery on Aug 26th in one week yippee. I am so excited. I am a little worried that it will be hard to keep track of all the vitamins and protein. So do you have any suggestions on how to get all my protein in one day I need to have 92 grams a day. I am open to suggestions. I know that shakes will be the biggest source but still they are not 96 grams.

  • you need to journal your food for sure. I was told 60-80 grams protein so a shake has half my day

  • HI! :) I've been watching your videos tonight started from the beginning and I"m still watching them. I want to get the surgery myself but was told by insurance company that I have to do a 6 months diet plan first with a doctor. Which is fine but they said it after I had the pre-ops appts, the psych eval.. so after all that I was told not yet and to be honest I felt discourage. I haven't started the doctor thing because i"m discourage. Any words of encourangements?

  • They will have you do several things along the way to approval, they are not as hard as you think, just make a list and check them off. I did them all in 1 week! Just keep going!!!

  • OMG!

    I LOVE watching your videos!

    They're so cool!

Seriously, you could have your own talk show!

I'm 5'6" and 130 pounds, so I don't have a lot to lose, but I still feel fat...

I just wanted to ask how you keep track of everything you eat...

I'm trying to, but it's hard to count calories and grams or whatever because I eat mostly korean oriental food, and I don't cook (I'm 13) so it's really hard.

Will you ever put body shots of yourself up?

I'm just curious how much you've changed. :)

  • Thank you for sharing your journey. It is really great. Congratulations on how well you've done. Do you ever give the recipe for the shake you mention in this video?

  • Yeah, i made a video called "Starbucks Frappuccino style protein shake" check it out

  • Thanks for sharing your story with us. I am in the process. Hope to be scheduled for surgery in the next month. Trying to find out as much as possible before then. One question....what exactly are you talking about when you say that you love the protein shake and it tastes like a frappacino an is 1/2 of the daily protein? Some stuff is apparently gross and some stuff is good. What are you using? Thanks!

    Linda

  • Funny you should ask.. my latest video is titled "Starbucks Frappucino Style Protein shake (Yummy!)" It is my featured video right now on my page. Enjoy!

  • what protein shake are you drinking? i need to find one i like! and i love starbucks!!

  • She makes it. I recipe is the the video "The Stuff I ACTUALLY use after Gastric Bypass Surgery"

  • I take EAS protein powder (vanilla) from Walmart and blend it with skim milk 1 teaspoon Taster's choice Hazelnut instant coffee and 1 tablespoon of flavored creamer, any you like. Blend and put in fridge to allow bubbles to die down. It is then the consistency of starbucks frappuccino in a bottle!
