the 1st time i went i got up 2nd time, edging hard, toeside edging 1handed, jumping about a foot high!, switches, want to try wake to wake nest time, i thought it was easy but i kitesurf...
I also call Bull Shit....We are learn2wakeboard and have taught over 4 thousand beginners in the 10 years at the The Delta. First, no beginner rides like that on the first try..Maybe on the 3rd lesson, but most bend their knees. This gal stand up and switches grip.. no beginner does that... Second, that is the worst instruction we seen. Here's an invitation to the instructor, to come to our school and watch us...
i tryed wakeboarding todday and i couldent get up.. i just plowed water for like 2 sec the couldent hold onto the rope??? someone please help im not trying to fight the boat.. do i need to try to like get above the plow?? i have no problem water skieing?? help
and if you watch the video when ever she fails it skips to when she is going again, why would they show all the times she failed when they could skip 2 when she gets up..
Got up on my first try, cut outside the wake on my first try, even jumped a little heel side first time up (15 years old). I find this her run completely believable. Also got up on skis first try (7 years old), slalom first try (10 years old) got up first try on a knee-board (12 years old).
@s2kburbs do you still wakeboard??? im getting one this weekend and i want to know if it is like waterskieing??? im 13 and i waterskie and i want to do wakeboarding.. is getting up eayser or harder?
@kxsteven4 hard to say, in terms of getting up, it takes a little different approach both for the driver and the boarder - but if you water ski now, I see no reason why you won't take to it with little problems. I have watched a couple 40 + year old family get up on their first try, granted most of them have been on / off the water for most their life. If you can get up on a slalom, it's cake walk.
Yeah this guy's bullshit. No one can carve outside the wake there first time. Also kind of giving shitty instructions, and a creepster. this video is week sauce
I call bullshit! Either that chicks been wakeboarding before, she's extremely naturally gifted or this video is after at least a week of her learning. I've never seen anybody (learning) cut out toeside & look even close to that confident. Everyone I've seen cuts out HS & its a bitch for them to get back across the wake to the other side.
@spavlic Dude she could have done it the first day with him, I couldnt do it the first day i tried then i watched videos like these on youtube and got up the next day... If i had a coach telling me what to do i would have got it in the first 10 tries getting up..
Another thing I find helpful is to point your toes towards the boat so the board slides up over the water right before you turn, instead of pointing your toes up. Pointing your toes up tends to make you fight the water which will eventually win as the boat speeds up.
yeah idk i cut the wake easy my first time up which was my second attempt but i've water ski'd tubed kneeboarded all that shiz so idk about the truth of this vid
What the feezy? This guy is a total perv. I'm not sure the spreading her legs and her grabbing his shoulder was absolutely necessary. Other than him perving it up, it was a pretty good tutorial.
Nice video. Obviously by the way she was riding she was a seasoned skier. I wouldn't say it was fake, because the video did cut out after her failed first attempt. I got up my 4th time trying(2007) and hadn't skied since 1986.
the 1st time i went i got up 2nd time, edging hard, toeside edging 1handed, jumping about a foot high!, switches, want to try wake to wake nest time, i thought it was easy but i kitesurf...
surfer, paddler, skateboarder, snowboarder, skier, runner to name a few and now wakeboarder. some people have it and some people don't. keep trying and you will get it. have a great day on the water.
Agreed! Great video, but no chance that was her first time and she was crossing the wake the wake she was. If she stayed 20ft to the outside of the boat the entire time in a power squat with bent arms I could see it being real. She also let go of the rope when she got squirrelly instead of eating it and holding on. My girl surfs and snowboards and still can't ride that smoothly.
I do appreciate the technique though so I have a better idea of the tips to provide to new riders.
my first ime wake boarding i did exactly that...its not hard if you just think and do what ur told to do...NOT FAKE!!!
