Anybody else miss Mikes backing vocals ?  They really defined the VH sound I think , and to me it sounds different without him in the background . Eddies Kid is OK , but they could give him a dead mic and it wouldn't sound much different .

In my honest opinion they are a shell of their former selves. Eddie's guitar parts are simplified and Dave's voice although never great is very lacking.

Looking at videos like this makes me agree. You see moments of the energenitc Dave and Eddie but they need to play harder just like the good ol days. Seems they doin lil more than jus doin the steps. Dang Eddie and his alcoholic ways really hold them all back. Thats why Micheal isnt in the band right now and thats why Dave was ousted back in 84-85. Ed resented daves honesty towards him. It's Ed's way or the highway. that would be good if Ed were in his right mind without alcohol.
