nothing against people who do but hunting with a rifle is cheating in my opinion. i mean if you have to use a gun that can shoot 400 yards with a scope that can see up to 500 yards then you shouldn't be hunting. if you hunt with a bow or shot gun, god bless you. you actually give the animal a chance and know what its like to be a good sportsman. the only thing i use a rifle for is coyote hunting and out shooting my friends in a contest, and i don't even use a scope.

@Rockymounainwolf I use a 12 gauge for turkey,22 for squirrels, and bow for deer..its way too easy with a gun.I killed one with a gun and i wasnt even to my stand and i put one on the ground from 130 yards,lol. Its alot more fun with a bow, ive had alot of deer come in close and get away because i couldnt draw my bow without them seeing me.thats what makes bow hunting so much harder.That and you cant shoot one at 200 yards ,or rest your bow against a tree..lol

@lickmeballs44 All depends on what load your using and where you hit them, and how big the deer is. Florida deer for example. A mild .30-06 load is the upper limit, anything bigger is severe overkill and you'll lose a lot of meat even with a decent shot. Hell a .30-30, .44-40, .243 or .250 savage is perfect for pretty much anything east of the missisippi bigger than a possum if you shoot right.
