  • I never played this game before, but the fact you're practically using 30% of the screen for the gameplay would get on my nerves.

  • Is that a Video Game Exchange sticker? Man, those ruined every game. And they're not even in business any more so now every used cart from that store is pointlessly ruined. What a waste :-\

  • WE DON'T CARE ABOUT LOSERS MAKING REVIEWS OF GAMES WE ALREADY PLAYED! THINK FUTURE! Lousy voice by the way...

  • @Nokturnal1999 wrong haha. 21 thousand people care.

  • CWACK DOWW

  • Sega didn't sue for this...when Xbox 360 came out with theirs?? LOL

  • Does the music reminds anyone else's of the Robocop game for the NES?

  • One of my favorite Megadrive games :) Great review.

  • They couldn't make the playing field any smaller if they tried.

  • hahahaha was not ready for 3:09 I spilled soda everywhere!

  • I had this game for the ZX Spectrum! ^_^

It was like Gauntlet seasoned with a bit of Metal Gear. Not brilliant, but fun for a quick go, and always with a mate.

  • 6:13 It appears logic dictates the electrical barrier is not passable from that side, only from north to south.

  • if the pit is bottomless how is the middle platform not falling down?

  • I can tell this game was made by the same people that produced "Shadowrun"

  • Good thing this vid was abailable in 1080p:)

  • This is a really really good game but in coop, not solo!

  • is this the predicessor to the 360 version, or is it just a coincidence that they have the same name????

  • looks beter than the Xbox360 remake!!

  • I remember this game from like 9 years ago XD

  • @kwakyy90 more

  • Is this Homer Simpson talking?!

  • lol, i never knew crackdown was originally on SEGA

  • @CrimsonOmen407 it was on the genesis but its not related to the xbox game crackdown

  • seems like gain ground

  • Ha I had that shit It was like the first Coop Game I played

  • huh, this game kinda reminds me of Blaster Master on the NES

  • Yeah, I just picked this up for cheap today. I can see I don't have much to look forward to. I'd rather play Bonanza Bros instead. :(

  • That music is actually pretty tight comparedto some of the music you say you love, no offense

  • @lshsballer thats only your opinion though. so it isnt any where tight to mark as it is to you

  • Agree with the guy who said the arcade version was much better. If you haven't seen it, just search for 'crackdown arcade' on Youtube, and turn up the bass :) Since it was a System 24 cab, it lost a little in the translation to the Genesis. They also had a version in the arcade where you could play with 3 players. The music (arcade, not Genesis) is what I remember most. I think they had some bitchin' speakers on the arcade cab, cuz it really sounded good.

  • That last scene where u got electrocuted countless times, I found out that if you use a super bomb, the pattern resets. Nice trying without it though :)

  • some of the best VG music ever. and the sound effect when you use a bomb was cool "wooophaaa!"

  • I love how the bloke goes flat as a pancake when he leans against a wall.

  • i wish he could run or hurry up to LOL

  • lol

    the genesis said "Qwap Dow"

  • it's kind of like the origanal gta but looks like a realy great game

  • acually what i mean is it looks like a realy great 2 player game but ok for one bplayer

  • looks like the original MGS

  • I love the sound effect of the machine gun. Very realistic.

  • I find it so funny the noise he makes when he gets zapped... "Oooop..." "Oooop..." Haaaaahahahaha

  • The electric scene with the electric tiles irritated me by just watching. It kind of looked to me that the D Pad might be an issue with this game especially with any diagonal movement.

  • i always remembered this game, but i forgot the name

  • does it have online ? does it reach 1080p??

  • it is a sega genesis game

  • you didnt get it, right ?

  • Get what, exactly?

  • I actually like music like that. Good review, I want to go out and find this now.

  • crackdown was better

  • geez thats a horrid looking cartridge

  • nice review guys keep them coming

  • I've got the Jap version of this which I did a vid for (the same game). I actually like the music on the first stage! Those moving tiles are fucking annoying though,... lol :-)

  • kinda looks like the original metal gear games

  • is this a older version of the 360 game crackdown or is it a toataly difrent game with the same name??????

  • Wow, look at all that crap on the screen. You'd think they could have put some of that stuff in a pause menu or something.

  • True. You couldn't be more right. :-)

  • The game seems somewhat similar in pacing to Bonanza Bros., which I absolutely love, but for some reason all my friends hate.

I don't know if you have, but if you haven't, you should really give Bonanza Bros. a good, hard, passionate reviewing.

  • Wow, thats the first time i've heard that awesome game mentioned anywhere on the internet in ages. I love the game too.

  • Hm, i'm not really a fan of plug and play things if thats what your talking about :P

  • The arcade version was much much better. It ran on Sega's short lived System 24 hardware which used a high res 640x480 monitor and 3½-in floppy disks. The games were loaded off the floppy into RAM when the cabinet was powered up. The problem was that the monitor was expensive and the floppies were prone to failure. Only about 6 games were released on this hardware.

  • That's so interesting...gotta love weird archaic arcade architecture! ;D

  • this was one of the early megadrive titles, it was cool for its time, guess it did not age verry well...

  • looks like Rockstar owes sega

  • smart bomb? sounds more like a fart bomb to me

  • Never did get on with this game... wanted to, but it was just too... ugh.

  • Looks like a competitor for Metal Gear, at least a bit :P

  • nothing competes with the mgs series..

  • MG is not the same as MGS :P

  • mg is still in the series budday :)

  • Yeah i know but the gameplay has really nothing to do with MGS.

Instead its more similar to CRACK DOWN...

  • I can see why someone might think this is somewhat simmilar to Metal Gear on NES....kinga...if I use my imagination.

  • the game dopesnt look bad

    but very boring and dull

  • Built-in, wtf are you talking about?

  • I thought the Genesis was released in 92?

  • Nope, in 1989 ;)

  • Oh, I guess that was the SNES that came out in 92.

  • SNES was released in 1990

  • 1991

  • Wednesday November 21, 1990

  • LOL "bottomless pits makes sense, electrocuting people it's stupid!" laughed my ass so hard there

  • this game wins just for having 2 player splitter screen

  • this game cost u 2 dollars you could buy crackdown for 360 for like 6 or 7 dollars XD

  • Looks 8 bit, plays on a 16 bit system, let's split the difference and call it 12 bit. With all the wall hugging it's like a proto-Gears of War mechanically speaking.

  • this game looks 8 bit

  • Ooh!

  • Thought this was going to be 360 Crackdown. Get that, it's great. And very cheap.

  • they are the same game just released on the 360, pc, and genesis duh

  • Damn, you're right! the bottomless pits should have tipped me off.

  • really....i never would have guessed.....

  • ive been working on a new set of moving tiles over a bottomless pit in my living room, next year we're thinking about rotating cube block.s

  • reply to this comment and i will never comment of one of ur vids again :D

  • Ready, Ben.

    Ooh!

    Ready, Ben.

    Ooh!

    Ready, Ben.

    Ooh!

  • 4:09 Are they wearing leotards? They look like camp wrestlers!

  • I've got this game for the c64, was pretty cool back then, but never got to far.

  • c64?

  • Commodore 64

  • This dude does 1 sometimes 2 reviews a day....big props dude...i always look forward to see the reviews..especially the old stuff

  • He did 3 or 4 only yesterday or the day before ^_^

  • bowelmovement

  • :D LOVE THIS GAME XD

  • man this is first game review,i've seen for a while,as sold my 360 and games to buy a guitar!!!will get another system in future (handheld this time)great review mark!!!

  • Good idea selling the 360 first step in geting a life

  • What are you talking about?

  • still got to get me one of those haha!!!

  • Is it me ? Or when the guy shoots it sounds like farting in the game !? lol!

  • XBLA? Tsk, the noob! :D

  • 1:14...gotta feel that music

  • Aww, Mark, No jokes about the Xbox 360 game of the same name?

    Such a wasted opportunity :D

  • the music sounds ok to me kinda repeditive though

  • yeah only with crack you can enjoy this thing >.>

  • you can walk out of the way of a bullet...cool =)

  • This has all the same sound effects from Rampart

  • yah... they lost a lot when they ported it to genesis, hate to see what the Atari and Odyssey versions are like...

  • this reminds me of xybots so much

  • Bottomless pits make sense...electrecuting people is stupid! LOL!

  • great review good too see a sega review i stumbled upon this game by accident i was like omg this must be a prequel but no not at all :(

  • looks more like a clone of mission impossible for the nes even the bad guys look the same

  • cool

  • I prefer this to the 360 version....

  • lol

  • Screw off with your spam. Game room is sacred.

  • review mgs4 and new bionic commando that came out this month

  • it did

  • i love you

  • some of the sound effects sound like they come from or are used in Sonic Spinball LOL I loved that game!! never beat it though

  • i actually like the music of act 2 in this review o.o

But it's to slow pased for me :D

    Thanks for the great review!

  • plz review infamous for the ps3

  • aww hell yeah

  • Looks like they could have done this easily on the Master System.

  • You should review Crackdown for the 360!...it's nothing like this game...

  • naw... its better

  • which one? the genesis one, or the 360 one?

  • the 360 version

  • no arguments here...

  • i used to play this on the pc

  • Haha, that's the beauty of video games. No one questions the realism of what's going on until something pisses you off!

Great review as always! Might pick it up if I see it.

  • The first level music is intense!!

  • clever idea but doesn't look to great

i don't like how small the screen is

  • This looks pretty sweet to me. I'm checking it out on MAME, definitely.

  • Nice review, doesn't look all that great but hey..what can ya do..

  • The wall hugging mechanic is interesting. Pop and stop gameplay decades before Gears of War.

  • I remember first playing this game I had no idea what to do but then I realised to get all the bombs.

Its such a addicting game and they should re-release this game for XBLA or PSN

  • Got to love the genesis!

  • Ah i remember this game. And the music especially lol.
