i understand that why people would blame Richard or her family for her tragic death, I know that they have responsibilities of not letting her choosing her roads, but I'm glad she became a sanger, because it would be a waste of such a beautiful voice... And many of us love/had loved the duo... I think Karen also has responsibilities because she could had chose to live a better personal life... I'm not saying that she owns all the fault, I mean everything mixed together and affected her
I told Randy Schmidt lets go on National TV & I will tell you everything you left out of Little Girl Blue- People are really beginning to understand that this gentlemen is making money off of Karen's misfortune. Randy puts on his little suits, goes out signs books, hasen't donated anything towards eating disorders, he has even talked Karen's friends into talking to him, it's on video- However did anyone notice the peolpe who count the most remained LOYAL! Point made!
Richard's got an astounding memory for details. Astounding. Unless he looked stuff up before the interview, but something tells me he's just got this super smart memory. He and Karen = naturally brilliant people.
so basically, richard just took karen along for the ride. who knew if this is what she wanted. the world is better for it but not so sure if it was right. god her voice was lovely.
@ThePolkadotbikini I asked myself the same question. I think it was the right decision because she touched so many all over the world. It really came down to how she chose to live her personal life.
Karen has and always will be one of my very favorite female sigers. I grew up with her music, and ofcourse once I grew up I wanted to know more about her and Richard then all of a sudden Karen died and I was devastated. I was sad for several months. Have never gotten over her death. All I wanted to do is tell both her and Richard how very much I loved them through out the years and tell them how much their music inspired me growing up. They were the best. I feel so soory for Richard.
Awesome Documentary, I wish someone would re do a movie of their lives, but make it more lengthy and with more of these details that were ommitted in the original Karen Carpenter Story.
@choirlady1976 Good luck having a movie made that tells the whole truth. Maybe when Richard Carpenter dies. He's way too overprotective of the Carpenter legacy.
I really believe that she really wants to cry from that moment they won their fist Grammy oh my!!she just stop it!!haha but the tears of their enjoyment really can see on their face!!Karen even blushed!!
Wow, thank you for posting the whole documentary. I've also seen every piece of C's footage and this is the first time I hear the Mamas & Papas anectode. It's hilarious! and I don't think I've ever seen Wes Jacobs being interviewed either! please, who is the man that appears at the beginning and at the end of part 7 who says he used to date Karen? Weintraub, maybe?

@choirlady1976 Who would dare play the female lead??
oneputtsteven 1 year ago
@oneputtsteven not to answer for choirlady but anne hathaway would be a good choice. she can sing but she is not a contralto like karen.
