  • war pigs!!!! black sabbath

  • Naaaaaaaah man you are freaking Jack Black man.

  • SKADOOSH!!!!

  • @TheHooligan1968 yep. its something like "the state of the vintage guitar market"

  • 1:06- sold

  • He does sound a lot like JB... and he even has a similar sense of humor with what he says, and if this is JB, he obvioulsy doesnt want us to know it so stop haha

  • Come on people!! This is NOT Jack Black. Have you even payed any attention to his voice compared to this guy? In fact, I like this guy a lot more than JB. Just because this guy has a good sense of humour doesn't mean he HAS to be someone you know of, or saw in a movie. Live life, people!

  • @insightdelight dude, y u no have sense of humour?

  • u know what i don't give a dam on who he is coz it's not my business... as long as he happy to do and keep reviewing the pedals...that's all matter

  • I like the EHX metal muff better, but this pedal still kicks ass

  • War Pigs hellyeah!

  • so many idiots and really just no time

Jack Black???? Aliens are stealing your luggage.

GMD, little amps always sound thin and midrangey, no bottom end no heavy tone that this pedal just drips. Notch the mid slightly around 1:00, bass up about 3:00 and treb below fizz, like you would adjust a metal zone properly. Through a clean channel tube and decent cab this pedal burns dark and heavy.

  • dude no offense but it is a metal distortion pedal and you ain't playing metal bro!

  • @gareshenkie Black Sabbath not Heavy Metal..?....What planet do you live on dude?

  • Definitely a tweakers pedal, which usually indicates crap tone if the dials are turned indiscriminately. Like the Metal Zone and other pedals with mid-freq sweep capabilities, it's all too easy to dial up a shrill fizzy mess with these but spend enough time with it and you'll find the sweet spot and it really can make a tube amp sing. One thing I love about these Hardwire pedals is they don't get overpowered by high output pickups like most dirt boxes. They can handle getting slammed.

  • @Maxx61 what do you mean they dont get overpowered by high output pickups?

which one do you recommend the metal zone or the hardwire?

  • @ayohi Some pedals can't handle high output pickups without serious clipping right from the get go. In those cases, you can't get anywhere near mid-level on the gain knob with your guitar's own volume dimed because the pickup is slamming the input of the pedal too aggressively. You can back off the guitar volume or back off the gain on your pedal but why get a metal pedal if you can only get 30-40% of its gain before it starts farting? I prefer the Hardwire for this reason.

  • so minted!

how many pedals have u got?

  • dude, turn your TONE DOWN!!!!!!!! abblblblblbllblwubwubwbub...

  • War Pigs!!

  • @mysillyfacevlogging

I'm talking about the music during the Digitech part at the very beginning of this video.

  • @Carcassfan891 Crazy Wild by Bodeco

  • @workinmanstone

Thanks a lot. I LOVE that guys voice.

  • @Carcassfan891 Yeah man I bought 2 of their albums from listening to GMD's demos, Bone Hair n Hide and Crazy Sexy Baby. Great stuff definitely worth checkin out!

  • What is the song that is playing at the beginning of this video?

  • @Carcassfan891 i think it's a track by the boneless ones

  • i didnt like the loose mode!

  • you are freakin jack black man

  • 1:00 WAR PIGS!!! \m/

  • 1750 for a jaguar, you can haggle Jack Black!

  • God Save Jack Black and Metal Zone!!!!

  • ITS JACK BLACK !!!!!

  • u can actually get great sounds out of this pedal if u know what the fuck ur doing tone wise which this douche cake def does not. he needs a guitar tech like pronto. none of these motherfuckers know tone.

  • @SugeBradley yes we all know that your a master of music, your channel proves it

  • TL-2 or hot head ?? please response me

  • i know it's you JACK BLACK

  • come on. show your face Jack Black!!

  • people need to shut up about the boss mt2 it is the shittiest distortion pedal ever

  • i had this tl-2 hard wire and didnt sound good to me, i took it back and got heavy metal master, and this one sounds way better for me than the tl 2.

hard wire had too much crunch to it and i wanted it more chug chug rather than crunch so if you want to get chug chug sound get heavy metal master if you want crunch get hard wire tl-2 .

  • I don´t like that pedal is a little hard to find "your sound"..

  • I Love WaterMelones... I Have this pedal, just plug it and you go on fire :D

  • the digitech pedals are just horrible if you like at the first time you will get bored 3 hours later hahaha belive me Boss are way better

  • @JustTheApis Looks like you haven't tried the Hardwires. They're an entirely different breed.

  • foxy lady

  • show ur face jack

  • how much it costs?

  • Metal Muff with Top Boost by Electro Harmonix is also a great contender.

  • War Pigs is one my favourite Black Sabbath songs.

  • hey what pedal do you recommend that sounds like slayer.

  • I'm spoilt for choice... BOSS MT - 2, Digitec Hardwire TL - 2, Modtone Extreme Metal, MXR Fullbore Metal, Digitec Death Metal or BOSS ML - 2?

  • JACK BLACK !!!

  • wow i cant afford this stuff

  • @maplegodx150 Its only £60

  • Comment removed

  • The only way you could afford all these pedals and amps is if you are in fact Jack black. Give it up. we all know you're him! Show us your face!

  • @GarrettX1991 I think the same thing, even before I read your post. Def Jack

  • i have this and its alright but its better for nu metal

  • omg i loved you in tenacious d the pick of destiny

  • woaww, that cuts man,i play a crunchtone from mi-audio,but this really is a metal pedal.

  • pedal sounds terrible.

  • damn this motherf_cker can pull off Jack Black on his days off!!!

  • Wow, Metal zone is awesome compared to this.

  • just curious, wat kind of pedal should i get to get a sound similar to MUSTAINE sound.

  • @hollywars27 a used marshall JMP1

  • @FastRedPonyCar where can i find it and around how much is it

  • i prefer the metal zone by boss i liked the review he did on it and i could find sound checks on it that sounded good

i would like to try the digitech and compare them though but the digitechs ive had in the past sucked so much tone away so i stayed away from them so yea

  • lol gibson custom shop SG les paul?

  • Should I get this pedal, the Death Metal pedal or the Metal Master?

  • @Alphastyx7 HM-2

  • @Alphastyx7 Death Metal pedal killed my tone so i say stay away from it. Metal Master is not bad but still doesnt have the sound control like the TL-2.

so go try the Master and TL-2 and pick your fav.

  • $17.50 your shitting me

  • @ChrisONGuitar1 $1,750

  • @Erock09291 makes sense

  • Would it sound good with a Marshall amplifier and a Warlock ?

  • which is better, the hardwire TL2 or the metal muff with top boost????

  • hey dude cool tone what are your settings for it? :).......

  • nice playing, nice amp as well.i have this pedal, got to say the best metal pedal ive owned, cheers.l

  • which is better for soad style this digitech or the boss mt-2????

  • Was you playing War Pigs by Black Sabbath at one point on their?

Rest in Peace Ronnie James Dio

  • @TrueSouthernPride what soes dio have to do with this pedal lol..

  • it's better than metal zone..i have both pedals..

  • you sound alot like jack black

  • Hey that's Jack Black! XD

  • I swear... this is friggen jack black... An he even used Gibson SG's too... Will you just admit it already? xD

  • anaconda's skin shoes !!

  • How is this pedal for pop-punk?

  • you do sound like jack black lol there are subtle differences but you definitly sound like the guy. great demo's keep em comin!!!!

  • BOSS MT-2

  • metal zone copy

  • I've tried both the Metalzone and the Metalcore.

I'd say with the right settings, this one blows them both away.

  • no dude playing metal shud EVER wear cowboy boots. ESPECIALLY snake skin ones. nice job tho

  • This LOOKS and SOUNDS awesome, its like a beefed up Digitech Death Metal with more features.

  • i have this pedal and love it!! i can play anything from parkway drive to all time low and even some old van halen. and its only $99!!

  • soo what is the price?

  • Anyone know the title of the song in the beginning title??

  • ya its warpigs by black sabbath

  • no.I mean the one berween 0-0:23".

  • have an am. strat with noiseless pickups into a fender stage 100 clean channel. Just picked up one of these and man its extremely noisy on the tight setting, Loose is quiet. Hmmm...

  • can i use this pedal on my line 6 spider 3, i hate myself for buying that amp but im stuck with it, and i want to know if i can plug in normal pedals like this into it, or can i only use line 6 brand pedals

  • yes you can, but dont use the amber clean, use the blue clean!

  • you can use any pedals with any amp. modelling amps like the spider do not handle pedals well however, and this pedal does not sound much better then your onboard crunch or metal channel.

  • yes u can use any pedal u wish! rock on dude!

  • cool, thanks man

  • that line 6 u have rulz just play with it and u will be amazed!

  • Line 6 solid state - good for metal.

  • is just a matter of taste!

  • my mate has Line 6 Spider 3 30W. He just bought an MXR Fullbore Metal pedal and.. T SUCKS...sounds terrible with the Line 6. he tried it on my Vypyr (same 30W) and it's meh acceptable (i dont like the pedal overall) . Im affraid your stuck with the Line 6 stuff mate. it's a Digital amp so getting a pedal that will work well with it might be a challenge... I'm looking for a distortion pedal for gigging (Provided Marshalls) and home use (Vypyr) now . all i can say.. you chose a WRONG DIGITAL AMP1

  • What is the problem with Line6.I'm about to buy the same one.

  • DONT, whatever you do, dont get a line 6, it sucks so bad, i regret it everyday

  • @ScubaSteve431 i got one as my first amp. worst mistake EVER. the tone changed EVERY day, so i had to dial it in anytime i wanted to play, and then the tone just sucked. its not even a good started amp

  • Line 6 sounds really fake to me. It's all about modeling and not about tone. The effects in the amp are very limited and don't sound that great anyway. You're better off getting something else.

  • digitech high gain pedals are either muddy or very shrill, the sweet spot is very hard to find but 2 eq knobs helps a little

  • unfortunately you're not using the right kind of amp for all these metal pedal demos and therefore not doing justice to any of the pedals, the Jaguar Jr has a Greenback speaker which is not meant for metal at all, if anything you should've used the Jaguar Lead, which uses a Vintage 30 and 6L6's tubes

  • @lookagain77 Piss off. Some people might use greenbacks for heavy distortion.

  • all these pedals weren't just meant for "heavy distortion", there are plenty of pedals that are capable of heavy distortion that work beautifully with greenbacks because of the pedal's voicing (Fulltone OCD, for example) The pedals being reviewed are factory voiced to be bass-heavy regardless of how you use their tone stack (because of their voicing/pre distortion-EQ), which the greenbacks will struggle with, the problem here is the pedal voicing,

  • one can be obtained by a savvy shopper.

    :-]

  • Okay people, listen up. I owned the Boss MT-2 because I was a noob and thought it was t3h br00t4lz. A few months later, I played the Hardwire TL-2. The Metal Zone now sounds like shit to my ears, and I have sold it. The TL-2 is definitely better. SO STOP ARGUING!

  • what amp do you use d00d?

  • @hiitsmcjosh i hate the metal zone i compaered it to the digitech metal master when i was first getting a distortion stompbox and price and sound digitechs 10xs better, metal zone got to much bite and really only sounds like kill switch and i hate them to lol

  • @hiitsmcjosh both sound like arse. just place a decent overdrive or boost pedal in front of a cranked tube amp. all the crunch you could possibly want

  • Comment removed

  • @hiitsmcjosh The TL2 is garbage once you plug into a blackstar DistX

  • @hiitsmcjosh i have the mt-2 i like it, but i believe you that the TL2 is better

  • @hiitsmcjosh Good tone is subjective.

  • @Cwassicwock Good tone is subjective, but shit tone is universal.

  • @hiitsmcjosh This comment is win. +2 internets.

  • @ShredmastaZ Thank you, good sir.

  • @hiitsmcjosh You never now though, one man's trash may be another man's treasure. For example, some people think this or the Boss MT-2 sound good. I happen to think they both sound terrible. It's just not my tone.

The only exception is like starter guitar + starter amp, and even people have managed to sound decent on those. Based on that, I think it's more of a subjective matter and how good the player is to begin with.

  • This sounds like the MT-2, which I am not a big fan of.

By the way, Boss doesn't just make shitty pedals. Distortions are terrible, yeah. Except a Keeley modded Blues Driver. Delays and verbs are decent, and I've always really dug the CS-3. Not a big Boss fan overall though.

  • boss distortion pedals suck, their other pedals arent too bad. not as good as other pedals though, still pretty near the bottom of the line.

  • hey bro, where did u get an sg in that color?? is it a gibson or another brand?

  • read the damned description

  • hahaha sounds like Jack Black

  • @6mindless6scarecrow6 I THINK SO TOO I THINK ITS HIM LOL

  • @6mindless6scarecrow6 shut up!

  • I meant an awesome pedal not "not an awesome pedal". LOL

  • I guess it's your opinion.

Though I think your opinion will change in the near feature, especailly when you play somemthing like a Mesa, Diezel, Engl, Peavey, or a good Marshall.

  • Are you jack black?

  • I though the same thing. It sounds a lot like him.

  • This. MT-2 just sounds really thin compared to this..this has some great low tones that the MT-2 can't provide

  • this sounds has a little less bad fuzz then the mt-2 in my opinion. but a really reasonable distortion pedal from digitech that is great is GRUNGE

  • pull treble down a bit !!!

  • The 1st song he played was War Pigs by Black Sabbath I believe

  • i just started playing resently, bought a used peavey amp at a secondhand shop for twenty bucks, the guy had a amp just like yours, and he only wanted $30 bucks for it. wow he really must know what he has. first thing in the morning, im going back a buying it!!!!!!!!

  • lol your choice of words and your voice is just like jack black.

  • i sold my boss mt-2 after i heard this pedal, i never looked backed. i also have a nother pedal board, it has the electro harmonix micro metal muff. it sounds the most ntrul of all three however it has the least shaping tools. so its a trade off. eh has the regular metal muff, which is the best, but it is NOT compact so i didnt think it fare to compare it. msr realerased the fullbore, built in noise gate. never tried it, although it looks very cool

  • I think digitech's best distortion pedal is the grunge.

  • ya it is

  • isit digital ?

  • since you reviewed them both, which is the better pedal: TL-2 or the metal master?

  • Dude, you sound like Jack Black, pretty cool, also, I think the best tone is when the gain is just good enough set for staccato picking, and with the mid frequency on one o' clock and the mid with it, the bass bit cranked and the treble cut. But I did that whilst ajusting the pedal accordingly to my guitar and amp

  • @GuitarJax Dude! i thought the same thing lol! :P (the jack black sounding)

  • i personally think digitech ALMOST sucks balls.

  • Hardwire may be made by digitech but is miles ahead of their other stuff.

  • the knobbies lol. Definitely mr. black here. He's even got an sg!! Although that is not a marshall..

    lol 4:08

  • drop mids will always succeed, try it.

  • dropping mids is not a good way to metal up your sound imho

  • is not "A" good way or not "ALWAYS" a good way, for that is the question you pile of pumpernickle bread from the anus of Michael Jackson where Puff the magic Dragon lies.

  • lol in what pile do you belong? In the pile of "i-say-whatever-i-want-cause-nobdy-sees-me" breed?

  • damn right. I live so far up your anus that God's like OMFG... then he truns into candy and shits little donkeylings which trasport themselves to happy meals which then spontaniously combust and spin a round singning "O come all ye faithful."

  • wow this sound is amazingggggg.

  • es la copia del metal zone

  • DigiTech pwns Boss again.

  • Believe me, my brother owns a Boss distortion pedal, and after seeing this, I started thinking, "Ha! Beat that!"

  • My friend has this pedal and my Boss MT-2 murders this pedal...And I don't really like the MT-2.

  • It's ran by a 9V-battery, right?

  • listen too gothdude i tryed this pedal it blew my mind away and then tryed out the metal core on the same amp and guitar and it couldnt cut it , the digitech is much better!

  • Men, Bad settings. Thats the reason of why your sound is shit¡¡¡
