However, the larger the fanbase, the more people overrate the game and hype it up. That being said, most of the fans who do this are 13-15 years of age. Admittedly, they do not know any better, but as the fanbase grows larger, so does the age range. The younger the audience that plays it, the more they tend to deem it as the "greatest game on earth".

An example: Famous guitar players didn't get to where they are because they only played once in a while. They DEDICATED their lives as they grew up to their guitars. This means practicing 3 to 6 hours a day. Do they have plenty of other things to do? Yes, but they CHOSE not to. They CHOSE to do something they ENJOY.
I would assume knowledge such as this would be common for someone of your age, but I guess it really isn't.

I play a lot of fighting games (Street Fighter, King of Fighters, Guilty Gear, etc) and generally speaking, a lot of the competitive players are really, really accepting of their wins/losses. While you do have the odd player who talks shit, I don't often come across that kind of behaviour in an arcade-esque setting or when it comes to fighting games.

I would tend to agree with your argument about the arcade style gaming situation. If your in an arcade generally, your with your friends. However, on say xbox live, everyone is basically anonymous. Younger player get a sense that they can swear because they hear other people swearing and because they think there is no way they can be punished for it.

WOW that was hystarical one guy tried to stick with a frag, one guy scoped his br at point plant, some one else didn't know if he should use a shoty or a single spiker, it toke one guy 7 swings of the hammer to kill the other guy, the guy that got killed by the hammer just ran in circles in stead of shooting, some one else tried to snipe with a fricken shotty and mauler, and for some reason some guy went up to say hi to the laser as it was charging are u guy right triggered impaired?

If you can, try asking your principal or student council. At our school, as long as we get a teacher to supervise us and get the permission of the student council, then we can make any kind of club we want.
However, we aren't SUPPOSED to be playing any kind of game with guns in it such as Halo, but the supervising teacher doesn't care and the principal/VP's are too busy to check up on us.
