  • Wait wait wait, Mad House? They did this??!

  • the sad thing even if this was translated to English I wouldn't understand what is going

  • Eh, oops. Flailed out a comment just like Earnest Evans.

  • Oh god mad house WHY.

  • Director and Main Programmer: Bug, although his brother Error had some input...

  • " IM EARNEST FUCKIN EVANS!" XDD

  • I wonder how many bitcoins it took to make this game...?

  • Oh my god. I thought there were two different girls but it is actually one....her hair constantly change from blue to green

  • Al Capone is listed in the cast.

  • lol Mad House

  • Hold on, Wolf team is now Namco Bandai...? The company that made the Tales of Series, Tekken, Xenosaga and some of the .Hack games... Wow... Talk crappy start in video gaming.

  • @DarkSolnea wat? no cyberconnect 2 makes .hack// the tales studio makes the tales series. xenosaga has there own team. and tenkken i have no idea. do you not understand publishing company's and development companys?

  • @zeonwaber Namco Bandai that's all I need to know.

  • @zeonwaber They all are under Namco Bandai so all other little details is basically not worth nothing why? I have a life and I really don't care for small details.

  • Whoa wait, Motoi Sakuraba? As in the man who composed the music for the Tales of Series, Star Ocean and Valkyrie Profile? This game must have been his low point because it's like what the hell!

  • My face the whole video: :)

My face when betus says "bad wolf": :'D

  • I looked up Wolf Team, and apparently they went on to do games like Tales of Symphonia. Man, talk about the last people you expect.

  • Duck sounding explosions? Foreshadowing, slowbeef?

  • Ryo Horikawa, the guy who does the Japanese voice of Vegeta & Cpt Falcon and Harley Hattori was in this game? The fuck?

  • Maybe it's just me, but I kinda wanna play this game.

Hear me out - it has loose controls and a senseless story, yeah, but it also has kickass music and a classic 'everything-asplode' aesthetic complete with crazy and senseless monsters, wanton destruction of everything, and nonstop action. It's like a Japanese Contra, or a less coherent Gunstar Heroes. It just looks like the sort of mindless murder spree fun that I love about retro sidescrollers, good or bad.

    Anyone else share my feelings?

  • @DaRkLoRdZoRc Contra was already Japanese, wasn't it?

  • @NiceHotCupOfBro I don't mean made by the Japanese. I mean it's more like an anime and has a more distinctly Japanese influence/story. Contra is more country-neutral in its presentation and how it plays.

  • ...The bitcoin was created.

  • The animation was by Madhouse the same people who did Death Note. Makes you think.

  • I just realized. There's no Dead to Rights at the end of this.

For shame, you guys. Even some comments below remembered. For shame.

  • 6:30

    MAD HOUSE O_O

    Wait, what!!

The company that made Death Note Anime

  • I love how the game was made by Wolf Team, which later became Namco Tales studio and made the popular Tales of games, and the animation studio Madhouse, which has pretty good animation (even if they adapt shit things like Marvel)

Motoi Sakuraba is still a shit composer

  • @EtnaInNetherland Maybe to you but I quite enjoy his work personally.

  • The credits music reminded me of Mario Golf/Tennis. Turns out it was actually the same composer, Motoi Sakuraba.

  • He must have been so tired after those credits.

  • Ironically Wolf Team went on to become Namco Tales Studio. Who make some of THE best RPGs of all time. Damn.

  • @Chidorisengan72 i know i shit bricks the first time i read that, how could the creators of this somehow make tales of the abyss and graces....like really

  • There is no fucking way Mad House worked on this. Not even in the shitty economic environment of the early 90's could they have possibly produced such shit animation.

  • Wolf Team is now NAMCO TALES STUDIO?!?!?! WTF

  • God when, Slowbeef laughs...

    it's so infectious

  • WHERE DID SUIT GUY GO??? We will never know...

  • Slowbeef knows Japanese?

  • @xThunderxWolfx Well, enough to read the credits, anyway; pity he couldn't translate the cutscenes for us. Not that I blame him, the characters were talking really fast.

  • I'd be pretty happy if he could.

  • @xThunderxWolfx He did the translation patch for Policenauts. At least some of it.

  • @bobobobo568 The script had been translated a long time ago, but slowbeef was the reason the Policenauts patch project picked up steam. He helped figure out how to reinsert the script into the game and all the timing issues.

In one of the Metroid Prime LPs he spoke a little bit of it.

  • 1:04 HEH!

  • Great video guys, but seriously, 100 Bitcoins isn't a lot of money.

  • Holy Crap, Wolf team became Namco Tales Studio which created all the "Tales of" games the hit RPG that has 13 installments o.O

  • @blah6393 r u serious......

  • @pitthepwner yes

  • Earnest goes to Hemmingway

  • So, Slowbeef. You speak Japanese. Can you tell us what in the darn heck was going on in the cutscenes for this game?

  • 1:32

    LET'S FUUUUCK

Oh god, I can't stop laughing.

  • ... Al capone is in this game?

  • Yep. He was the guy in the hat from part 2.

  • Comment removed

  • at the end, thats where l4d came from

  • Comment removed

  • Black Kamakura murdered Kazuyuki Fukushima in jealousy shortly after this game

  • Anyone else notice how during the cutscene from part 3 (at 7:19) the girl's eyes are clearly brown, and now their blue? Yeah, I'm probably the only one. Hmm perhaps I shouldn't have expected any type of continuity here, my bad.

  • Did anyone notised that at the end screen there was wrote "visual staff" not visual stuff but "visual staff".

  • @henrikots1 *facepalm*

  • Oh lawdy, Madhouse. Unbelievable.

  • Al Capone was in this game? Wtf?

  • All hail to President Mumm-Ra!

  • 'Wolf Team' are now known 'Namco Tales Studio', and have created games like 'Tales of Symphonia' etc. I think...

  • "Visual Graphics" ...as if there was any other kind? LMAO! XD

  • @1:08 oh look it's pride rock. They were magically transported to the Lion King...

  • MADHOUSE did the animation? Haha oh wow! How far they have come!

  • "Humanity isn't ready for this currency" Oh you brilliant bastards.

  • 2:16, that's nationalist China's flag.

  • Great news, Valis77 also did a longplay of the sequel a few days ago.

  • I was considering to subscribe, but there are too much fake laugh. Feels like watching a comedy with laughter at the background as if the viewer doesn't know when to laugh.

  • @sandslash123 It wasn't fake laughing, man, just funny.

  • whats the game called?

  • @YamiPoyo Uncharted 3

  • Apparently Al Capone was in this game?

  • @tkmachine He was the handsome blond mafioso chomping on a cigar in part 2, remember? He had a scar on his face so you could tell it was him and not a guy who looks nothing like Al Capone.

  • @tkmachine NO IT WAS ARU KAPONE

  • Ryoto Furuya went on to create a Super Mario Bros 3 Let's Play, in which he, after many long years, revisited his true calling: creating fart noises. And there was much rejoicing.

  • Wait, Motoi Sakuraba worked on this shit?!

  • The entire staff was paid in Bitcoins. That's why there was little to no effort put in the game.

  • I fucking started laughing like a madman when the japanese names in katakana showed up. Apparently the blue-haired guy is called Zeke. Or whatever, SOMEONE WAS NAMED ZEKE!.

  • "Earnest Evans [...] is an 1991 action platform game [,,,] It is the first in a trilogy of games which include El Viento and Anetto Futatabi."

Slowbeef, Diabetus, a recording of El Viento being completed by Valis already exists. Please, continue the work you've begun.

    Please.

  • @AstonishingAce Unfortunately El Viento is actually a decent game, Anime Maid is the new protagonist, she moves like a normal human being and there's not as many wacky enemies. And it's been translated, so the plot is actually understandable to a degree!

I'm still positive toward a wrongpurae of El Viento, mind you.

  • They got to. I wanna see that shit.

  • @AstonishingAce Yes, that would be amazing. Please do it guys.

  • @AstonishingAce I concur.

  • Let's FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK!

  • I keep thinking about that dumb guy Earnest that be in all those family moviesXD

  • Three games in this series; El Viento, Earnest Evans and Annet Futatabi.

Wolfteam split and became Namco's Tales Studio after they asked Namco to fund and publish Tales of Phantasia, some members left and founded Tri-Ace, which then made Star Ocean. I am not even kidding.

  • Dead to Rights.

  • See you next mission!

  • 0:26

    WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOUR FAAAAAAAAAACE

  • Laughing so hard that my face hurts lol.

  • Ernest, Annette, Zeke Fleet (Or perhaps Siegfried, but it's written with a space mark in the middle), Charlotte, Al Capone, and Ulrich...

one of these things is not like the others...

  • I'm still pretty stuck on the fact that there's about a hundred ots on the world map and like five places you actually go. I think it's pretty clear that this bizarre disaster of a game, like so many bizarre disasters is purely the product of pie in the sky ambition hitting the stark realities of time, budget and the fact that the creator/creators are bughouse fucking nuts.

  • And so Earnest Evans was crushed under a boulder. NEVER to be seen again.

  • This was one of the funniest RP on a game i've watched :')

  • im guessing wolf team turned into naughty dog after the shame of this game

  • I want to point out that the CD-Sound editor is VIDEO COMPANY MITOMO

  • Now all I can think about are world maps with flails spazzing out everywhere.

  • "Visual Graphics"?

    As opposed to Auditory Graphics?

  • Why the HELL is a video on Lady Gaga's contact lenses in the related vids?

  • Mad House did the animation? Like the same Mad House that animated Death Note and Black Lagoon? Sweet Jesus...

  • @MrKerplunkers yep. I would blame the Sega CD for the animation shortcomings, not Mad House themselves.

  • @MrKerplunkers also Redline, youtube search that for reference

proof that 'same studio' rarely equals 'same people'

  • Aww, what happened to the gray-haired business suit guy? He was my favorite character :'(

  • @leviathan1173 He killed himself. Didn't you listen?

  • I guess you stopped Hastur summoning or...something? I don't think this game makes sense even if you understand Japanese. Maybe you should do a commentary on its sequel El Viento too.

  • @Rixizu Anecdotal evidence suggests that El Viento was at least a competent game in the mold of Valis and such. Then again, considering that it shares a setting with Earnest Evans, I'm sure they could mock it successfully if they felt such was necessary.

  • @Rixizu This game has a sequel?

    HNNNNNGGGGHHHHH

  • @Venominous The sequel (El Viento) is actually decent and worth a try, as unlikely as it sounds.

  • @Crystalgate actually, as far as I know, El Viento is a prequel

the sequel to this one, I think is a beat 'em up

    but I don't remember the name =P

  • @Minority119 In the American version, that's certainly true, but it doesn't look like it's the case in the Japanese version. The cutscene where we first see Annet makes it look like Earnest "discovers" her, something that doesn't make sense if he already knew her and all sources I've found puts Earnest Evans as chronologically the first game (unless it's the American version). I can't tell for certain though, I have no idea what the Japanese cutscenes actually says.

  • @Minority119 El Viento is part 2 of the trilogy

  • You spend the entire game fighting aliens, you see some kind of demonic sigil destroyed by lightning, and Earnest is holding the Necronomicon at the end... all the while standing by his anime maid and his suit wearing adventurer? Earnest Evans, what are you?!

  • I like how the Oval Office is a)square, b)tiny, and c)has a brick fireplace in it.

  • @EponymousKid

He ended up with a 16 year old South American girl in a maid costume.

  • Best credits commentary ever.

  • As the President of the United States... I will destroy all records of this game's existence.

  • why do they keep sayin "wait what!?" obviously they're not going to understand it because its in a different language.

  • Long silence...... Dead to Rights.

  • @light101

you have the right to remain SILENT!!!!!!!!!

  • some game, it dosen't even you all the stages.

  • You guys do know that there's a sequel, right? Two, in fact?

It'd be cool if you did those as well.

  • So Earnest becomes the president and has to be rescued by Guy Kazama, right?

  • Slowbeef: President Mum-Ra is burning the tome!

Diabetus: That's the legislation making the Bitcoin illegal.

  • I've never been a big fan of the "making fun of the credits" thing but you guys manage to make it enjoyable for me!

  • Nice Boat

  • @TheShadowCookie

What is this? School Days reference? Well, shit.

  • @Backmask344

Indeed. I bet that the next morning, that green haired girl sits within the boat, hugging Earnest's decapitated head. Sweet happy end ~ "I am sorry Earnest... But your insanity must end."

  • A shame the 'robot' element of Earnet's character was dropped.

  • Animation Works: Mad House.

    My sides hurt.

According to Wikipedia, WolfTeam went on to be a part of Namco and make the fucking 'Tales of' series. Talk about going from rags to riches...

  • I'll bet if I understood Japanese, this would all totally still not make any sense.

  • You laugh about sequels but this is the first part....of a trilogy...

  • @Spadework2 The first part of a trilogy! I'm sorry but it just needed to be said again.

  • Hey everyone. The people who made this game went on to make the Tales Of series.

That's the sound of your mind being blown beyond recovery.

  • Kazuki Yao, no why

  • I looked the game up on Wikipedia.

...it's the first part of a trilogy.

  • Interestingly Wolf Team is still around.

  • @AaronMk91

it's surprising they went from this bullshit to developing the tales of series

  • ...Dead to Rights.

  • That boulder waited the entire game to make up for its mistake in level one, but it it finally redeemed itself in the end.

  • Wait... Mad House? Surely it's not the same studio that did Trigun, Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust, etc.?

  • Lol tommy wiseau

  • Wait, so the same people who went on to do Trigun animated this?!

  • Continuing with the cast from where Slowbeef left off:

Uh... apparently suit guy was named Zeke Frito. Dude, why wasn't the game about him? I don't want to play a guy named Earnest when I could have that.

  • @EponymousKid That was the unreleased sequel. It waits in an unknown warehouse to be discovered, kinda like the Ark of the Covenant.

  • @inferno232

The warehouse is in Maine, guarded by hedgehogs, flailing worms, and boulders with terrible timing.

  • @EponymousKid It isn't "Ziegfried"?

  • @SwordfighterRed Doesn't look like it; it has that dot in the middle which is usually used to separate Western names, and it doesn't have the right accent marks.

  • what a short game :/

  • Still better than Black Ops.

  • The most shocking thing to me is that they decided to name their Indiana Jones like hero, Earnest.

  • Mad House? lolwut.

  • Wait, the president? The middle of the ocean? Man, this really is a lame version of Last Alert.

Although at least Earnest ended up with a girl. I think.

  • /watch?v=OO1ccEL_MM8&feature

check out THIS work of art

  • @Tigerphenox What the hell is that bullshit? Seriously that's really wrong.

  • 7:25 Holy shit Diabetus, my respect for you went up a mile there. Nearly choked on my Vimto in surprise :D

  • And to think those developers went on to continue the Tales of series of games... Wait a sec.

  • I don't understand why Youtube has this problem for certain videos, this all started happening when they made the Youtube player black.

  • @Phantominfernox The funny thing about that is my youtube player is white but on channels its black. I kinda feel like youtube did something to my account because when I go on youtube with a different account its black.

  • 'Bad Wolf,' Really Diabetus, Doctor Who references? Who are you, General Ironicus?

  • @Linkeh24 Nu Who references, at that.

  • @Linkeh24 Soon, Diabetus takes on the traits of all the major LPers. He becomes a chain-smoking graphic designer with anger issues, and he grows a couple weird accents, which he uses to curse like a sailor. He has metamorphosed into the PERFECT RETSUPURAER.

The only creature that could do something like this?

    DARK WORLD SHAPESHIFTER.

  • This video works fine our main channel page, but shows "currently being processed" on the video page. Oh YouTube!

  • @slowbeef I'm not getting that message, I'm watching it on the video page.

  • @slowbeef Well it is YouTube. Quality isn't one of its finer points, even if its just simply uploading a video.

  • Ernest evans is a mix of simon belmont, a bad anime, indianna jones, and a piece of smoldering poop

  • Finally uploaded it to the right channel, eh?

  • The world simply isn't ready for bitcoins.

  • You should retsupurae something by NintendoCaprisun or the Yogscast.

  • I wonder if the original Japanese title was lost in translation at some point.

  • Alternate title: The Legend of Bitcoin
