@123italiano321 The amp hes playin is the Line 6 Spider III, the "new" one is the Spider IV, which im sure ur aware of. My soon to be 17yo son and I went just this weekend to tryout the spider iv. He plays the Big 4 type Thrash metal. Metallica, megadeth, slayer etc. The spider IV Killed it! It sounded great, and after a few min. We had the amp controls down. The presets on most are pretty close and u can tweak them. The amp sounded great clean, crunch,& hi gain. The sound stays clear even at
Hi, whats considered as one of the best (or the best) combo amp? a head is a bit useless for performing to 500-1000 people at max isnt it? i mainly play metal like metallica, slayer, iron maiden, black label society etc...
the line 6 spider III amp is sooooo good!! the spider iv amp is idk, pretty good, but it aint as good as the spider III i tryed on my mates 15 watt spider III and that sounded like a fucking beast!!! i might be buying the 120 watt?! cannot wait to try another line 6 out aha ')
finally! this is the first review for this amp that ive seen that isnt just some joke playing with one of the banks! thanks for showing us what this amp can actually do!
Hi Chuck, me again. I was at my local line6 retailer and tried the guitar with an Ibanez Artist and I could never get near the sound you have here. Are they all presets or did you dial these tones in? If they are presets, can you please tell me the number so I can try again?
@SomethinWild all stock presets with just slight treble adjustments (less). The video mic will change the character of these tones so your results will vary. I name them in the vid...don't know the numbers and returned the amp so I can't look them up.
@SomethinWild that is an epiphone music rising les paul. gibson and the edge from did a limited run to benefit hurricane katrina/new orleans musicians. my wife bought it for me as a valentines day present. It now is a metal monster with the addition of duncan blackouts and an emg mid booster. You can see it on youtube here: watch?v=HEc-3FZobcI
Hi could someone tell me if you can get a stereo signal through the output for headphones/recording on this amp? I've tried all sorts of cables and can only get a crappy mono sound through headphones, even though the output says you can record from it and surely that would be a stereo sound you would record with? Hope i made some sense to someone and any advice would be very much appreciated.
if it's a 120 watt amp you will have no problems playing over drums. I have a 65 watt amp, and it plays well over drums. I'm planning to buy this 120 watt amp to play with a drummer.
ive been doing reasearch on amps and i really liked line 6 spider iii 75w and iv 75w. i have tested both of them and both are great and i dont know which one to choose.which one would you reccomend.

can you please help me? i have a spider 3 150W. my amp will not play thru the speakers, but the headphones play just fine. what is going on? it worked just fine the last time i played it. but now i can only play thru the headphones...the only thing out of normal that has happened is my 17m old son was trying to plug the chord where its suppose to go, but if he broke something there it the headphones wouldnt work either? please please help.
@alexisd3 Sounds like something that is trying to sound like an amp...it sounds slightly artificial. You can tell it's not a tube amp. About the only thing that can perfectly fake a tube amp so far is the axefx.
@AlexanderRaccoon No, there's actually a Master of Puppets setting on the amp but he was using For Whom The Bell Tolls because he didn't notice. They have both on the amp.
@joshua0226 well thats subjective, but i would say it can't compare to a great sounding 800. but an 800 does not have onboard effects and sounds terrible clean, so both have their points.
i have a simple one that allows me to switch between four channels and that one was 30 bucks. You also have one with a wah pedal in it and that one is about 150 i believe
i have this amp and i LOVE IT. i dont use any of the presets though, i made set up all my distorion and clean tones. :] if you set it up the way you want, its awesome

Hi all, I have owned a Spider III for a couple years. Its a cool amp. But it has some limitations. I keep reading that the Spider III dosent like to see pedals in front of it. Ive been wanting to pick up an M13 board but Im concerend that it may not work well for the same reasons the other single pedals dont work. Any experience out there? Comments would be great.

did you try it with any additional pedals? probably not because it doesnt need it, but i tried playing my digitech rp80 through it and it just screamed its head off with feedback whilst on most effects (on the pedal)
no there is a setting on there called For Whom the bell tolls by metallica its set up for that song but he played master intro becuase he doesnt know i t i bet
correct...i'm not a big metallica fan and i didn't know any of their songs so i took about 5 minutes and learned a couple metallica riffs to demo the presets.

did you try it with any additional pedals? probably not because it doesnt need it, but i tried playing my digitech rp80 through it and it just screamed its head off with feedback whilst on most effects (on the pedal)

i did and had the same results as you. it did not play well with pedals.
