  • hey bbc loved the festival n im still istening to the first cd today kinda kiddish of me butt yeahh

are you performing this greenlane this year>?

  • Alas, not this year, but thanks for asking! After two years in a row, the festival likes to rotate the entertainment to keep things fresh. If you would like to see us there in 2009, or at any of your favorite music festivals, write or call the festival management and tell them you and your friends want to put in a request for "Burning Bridget Cleary"!

  • Hey Albertocrat,

Thanks for checking out the video! Yeah, we love that violin part, too! It developed over time, as we looked for a substitute for the bodhran (that's on the CD), during our live performances. So, please come on out to more live gigs and request the song!

There's an interesting side story about the origin of that song that relates to a connection with Bridget Cleary. Would you like to hear it?

  • I'd love to hear the store and ill make sure to reqeust that song.

  • and by store im sure i meant story =)

  • In a subsequent e-mail,Liam said that when he was a small lad, he lived near the area of Bridget Cleary's home.He recounted that he and his friends used to taunt an old man who had supposedly witnessed the awful incident of Bridget's demise. They would yell, "Who burned the woman"? It was a compelling connection to the band and to the completion of the CD.We have since visited Bridget's home and her unmarked grave in the Cloneen cemetary. She was an innocent young woman who deserves a memorial.

  • Here's the story! When Lou was getting permission to use "I Know Who is Sick" on the CD, he found a number on the internet and called it. Who should answer the phone, but Liam Clancy, himself! He was very kind and graciously explained that his sisters, Joan and Pat, had written the song. Upon hearing the name Burning Bridget Cleary, he said that coincidently, one of his sisters had recently been involved in an Irish-made televised production of the story of Bridget Cleary. To be continued . . .

  • I love the violin part that starts "i know who is sick" i really wish it was on the cd.

  • that is my fav song i've seen this band in concert twice and have both their cd's and totally beyond LOVE them

  • I love Burning Bridget Cleary and Tempest!
