i would not recommend the moisturiser at all, people tend to buy the product to reduce the appearance of wrinkles, thats all it does for wrinkles there still there it only hides fine lines not deep wrinkles, you can buy much better products for a fraction of the price off the high street. even better, get botox, lasts longer than this crappy product and is cheaper!
Sorry but ur doing it wrong... first of all you're much too young to be reviewing LaMer products however, not too young to use them. Your current skin condition is almost flawless thus not doing LaMer justice. second... u do not rub it all over ur hands! Just swirl a little bit between ur thumb n middle finger is good enough so it's not all soaked in by ur dry hands before face application. Hmmmm... leave lamer to do it's job then come back when ur in ur mid 30's. then u'll c.
Creme de la mer...mmm...not a wonderful wet ! All those famous brands are just full of chemicals ! Try something more natural instead of Chanel,La mer etc which are full of parabens, petrolatum and other unhealthy ingredients ! You should definitely try Korres Natural Products ! I recommend you try one of their products ! They are absolutely amaizing ! :)
i just subd your channel by finding this review.lol. i inherited La Mer product from a family member, they didnt use it. i have kinda sensitive skin, so it is annoying on my face. but i use it sparingly on my face and i use it on my elbows, and it practically got all the dry skin off my elbows!
i understand that la mer do 4 different types of moisturisering textures. creme for normal to dry skin and 2 types of lotion for combination skins or someone who likes a matte finish and gel creme which is for oily skin or someone who lives in a humid country. your review is on your personal choices. people who are being negative should try all types before disliking.. if you suffer from acne then use gel coz its water base and your not applying more oil.
I've bought the 2 0z. creme, it was presented as X'mas set in 2009 at their store in Hong Kong. Now is 2011, and I haven't use up even 1/5 of it! As I always keep it in a refrigerator, I've forgot to use it. So it's gonna be expired in the coming X'mas and I don't think I can use it up before the expire, as Hong Kong is so humid and hot in Spring and Summer.
So PLEASE HELP or give me some ideas what can I do with it, as throw it away will be such a waste! Thanks =)

I am so glad I came across this video before wasting money! The eye concentrate doesnt appeal to me at all! But I am still interested in the moisturiser! Ill stick to my Eve Lom cleanser, it removes everything in one go!
It seems that like me, you want products that actually give results, not products that are all "foo foo" and "fluff" lol! I would recomend you look into cosmeceuticals. There are really a lot of good brands out there :] you can actually notice a change in your skin, they are AWSOME! but they are not for everyone especially if your into organic stuff or you are not religious about sunscreen and taking care of your skin on a daily basis.
La mer gave me a rash. I think it's a total waste of money. I agree with you.. I think you are far too young for this type of a heavy product anyway. Wrinkling usually shouldn't happen til you're in your fifties i think. You don't look older than 25.
@kathryn120 you know age has nothing to do with skintype this is what u need to look out for my friend she uses nivea visage young and she is in her 30 's with olay total effects serum and lotion I used olay totall effects lotion and serum and im 21 ^^
@TheRivalConcept But skin type is affected by age. In other words, your skin type can change over time. And what you put in your body, and the exercise you do, stress management, sun exposure and genetics are most of the picture.
Olay actually rated better than La Mer in consumer reports, so there!
@kathryn120 to some extent, but to me if your over 40 then its age related skin care but for people late 30's and under its more the type of skin you have...SO THERE? how immature lol, consumer reports do lil for me as its not my skin, like critics saying food or movies suck or one is better than the other aint gonna stop me frm trying both...anywho, i dnt like olay toal effects cuz tho i use the sensitive 1 tired with and w/o spf and it irritated my skin...so now im using the palmers CBF rnge
Thanks for posting. Personally I love Amore Pacific a lot. I've been using it since 2003. If you do decide to try it, call the spa in New York to purchase a kit. Mini kits are great because you don't have to spend too much money. Hope you find something that will eventually work for you.
Hi Daniel, I just love your videos. I'm 22 and been trying skincare products since I was 17. I've learnt that the price doesn't always reflect the quality of the products. I personally don't like the La Mer produts, the smell, the texture... I would recommend you try Givenchy Le soin noir, I personally love it. After years of trying, my favorite products are Lancome Hydrazen neurocalm line, Dior Hydraction and Natura Bisse C+C. My complexion is always clear, smooth and glowing.
I had red blotches on my face and after 3 or 4 days of using La Mer the redness went down drastically. Instead of rubbing it on my hands I put of few dots on my checks, forehead and chin and then rub vigorously all over my face until it feels warm. This way my face absorbs the creme instead of my hands. I do believe though that there are other products out there that do the same thing for much less. But I just like La Mer for some reason. The refining facial is also very good for calming reddnes
P.S. I would also recommend to drink at least 8 glasses of water! And don't eat to many sweet,s! ESPECIALLY after 6:00 A.M. Just imagine how the sugar from this sweets goes straight to your skin. Tada, here comes the pimples next morning!
I must say I'm still having pimples when it comes to 'those days'.
Hope this was helpful. And please make sure to READ THE INGREDIENT'S LIST TO KNOW WHAT YOU USE ON YOUR FACE! We are not silly sheeps to let someone use us as their experimental Dollys.
I feel that I need to give my new cream some time, because it's been only 2 weeks since I've started using it.
Next I'm gonna see my dermotologist, because I want to do some acid masks, which will help me get rid off my scars. And hopefully I will 'return' my face it's beautiful look.
Thanks to Youtubers, you really help people!!! Never thought solution is gonna be so easy for such a difficult problem! :)
InVinos I just saw your messages, Mineral Oil is not bad for the skin at all, it is actually very good for the skin. My dermatologist who is one of the best in Europe confirmed this!! La Mer isnt for everyone and as you mentioned you suffer from Acne, can I make a suggestion? Ask your Derm to prescribe you Retin A its really great and you will see a huge difference after a few months. Don't use a heavy moisturiser if you have problematic skin. Sisley and SKII have great ranges but retin A
Which means you can always find something cheaper and better!
I'm not really on the budget(If i could afford myself buying La Mer one by one). But now I'm using Estee Lauder hydration cream. I'm not saying it's the best. I just made sure it didn't contain Mineral Oil. Any hydratoring cream will work. Estee Lauder doesn't give a promise to solve any of your problem, but it's cheaper, smells better, and what's the main thing my pimples are appearing much less frequent.
The main harmful action about Mineral Oil that it covers your skin like a plastic wrap. It doesn't let your skin to breathe, it clogs the pores and makes your skin photosensitive(plus La Mer doesn't have SPF!).
I was shocked... Really. It's like a poison for acne skin! And of course what I did next? I threw out my jar of La Mer. I dont care about money I've spend. My skin deserves something better. And you know my mum was right when she said:'It's not always gold when it sparkles and shines'.
And just a few weeks ago I've found the video on Youtube talking about harmful effect of cosmetics ingredients. I've googled and found out that La Mer has a Huge Dose of one of the worst ingredients ever! It's secret 'miracle' formula has a MINERAL OIL as a second ingredient in the ingredient's list, which means this cream has a lot of it. If you don't know what's so bad about Mineral oil - check it out on Youtube or keep reading.
Because I couldn't walk out from my house without covering my acne cheeks, it was full of scars, marks, red pimples and so on. I couldn't normally take pictures on the beach. Because my cheeks were full of scars. If you have acne, you know WHAT I mean...
I was trying to find a reason, but still couldn't. While my skin was becoming worse and worse...
I've tried changing so much in my life: I stopped eating sweets, I starting taking Vitamin E and folic acid. Now i'm taking oral pills for birth control(because my doctor says that sometimes acne may appear from hormone splash). I was so desperate about my skin... But I never ever thought it could break out because of my Skin'Care'.
I started to get depressed and i was crying all the time.
I started having acne after a huge stress. I purchased La Mer cream, because I have heard alot about it's 'miracle' formula. Commercial said it heals each and every skin problem. My face skin started breaking out very gradually.
I was using La Mer for 2,5 years. I have tried: Creme De La Mer(which is way too oily), Fluid De La Mer(which is better formula, but still breaks out my skin) and Gel De La Mer(but not ok).
Weekly Eye Treatments I find Sisley Eye Treatment very good, and also Estee Lauder Eye Patches, but do not forget SPF for the day time Clarins SPF 40 is great as La Mer doesnt have SPF in their product....should start my own reveiws....
Yes I have seen, but I prefer the Clarins factor 40, its lighter, cheaper and a higher factor!! You should try it too, I have also discovered Shiseido Retinol Eye Patches fantastic!!!
I then use La Mer Eye Concentrate night and day, for day time use I use Creme De La Mer Gel and in evening I use Creme De La Mer, I used to use the La Mer serum but now I use SK - II Facial Treatment Essence it is amazing it really is a life chaging product,
I love Creme De La Mer, been using it for 8 years, but I do not use all of their products as I did in the past. I have been cleansing with Eve Lom for the past 4 years which is the most amazing product and I find much better than La Mer Cleanser, Eve Lom also prevents skin dryness,
I love your British accent. I wish I could afford some of this stuff. I have a nasiolabial line on one side of my face and not the other b/c I used a crappy product. Would love to get rid of it.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
If you pay this much money for something you can get for a tenth of the price, you have major self image problems. I suggest you see a psychiatrist, not a dermatologist.
There are plenty of more expensive and useless interests I've seen other guys into (example: when trashy guys spend tons of money on customizing their shitty cars). At least he will make the effort to look younger, whereas most men do not and I'm guessing you probably will not either.
I have used Creme de La Mer for over 10 years. It is still my favorite brand because I could see visible change in my skin, such as improved skin tone. The serum is great because it got absorbed immediately to my skin. The moistering cream is amazing. I had a allergy around my eyes recently due to Bobbi Brown's concealer. I saw two demotologiest but nothing helped. The allergy resulted a fine line. Then I used La Mer and the line disappear in the end. I guess it just works very well on my skin.
you are right about the clinique eye creme finally a eyecream that works! i wonder if their moisturizers work? i got dry to combination got any good tips for me?
I was told that you should remove your make up first with a make up remover and then cleanse with a face wash.. Thank you for your honest review hun ;)
Been using this line since I was 12. Only the line of moisturizers are really worth it. Otherwise, other products are only so so. But if your skin is really like traumatized ie. sunburn, windburn etc... The rest of the line including the cream will work perfect.
Hi Daniel, I was wondering if you would like to do hair tutorial videos? Your hair always looks so good, it's styled but not over-styled.. if you know what I mean?
I would love to know what hair products you use too. :)
try the gel of creme de la mer... it does not contain oils... I totally understand you might get annoyed by the greasy effect, but it is because it is design for dry skin, kind of like sensitive/delicate or damaged I believe.
u got the completely wrong range from the la mer range. Mens skin is much more oilier compared to womans and a cleansing lotion is never a good idea. U should have bought the cleansing gel and the toner and the oil control/ the la mer lotion. la mer creme is extremely rich in texture and does not normally suit combination skin until and unless u are living in a harsh cold environment. la mer consultant should have sold u correct products......a pity coz their products are simply superb!!!
u should have used the gel creme. I have combination skin. it saved my skin to be honest. sorry it didnt work for u. i hated the eye concentrate..it gave me irritation. my hubby uses the oil absorbing lotion with the toner...his skin is perfect now!!
Great review! I've been curious about this brand for awhile, but hadn't tried it because felt it was probably overrated and overpriced. Thanks for your honesty! ;)
hi i'm 16 and underneath my eyes the skin is like rly thin n delicate so i have dark circles n i have to be quite gentle when applying concealer if I do. I was thinking of getting that eye stuff with the silver spoon but you've kind of convinced me not to. Do you think any of the le mer products are worth it? At the moment i've been using clinique for 2 days - should I get the all about eyes balm, is it better than la mers?
haha! i watched your review because i watched fuz' review and wanted more reviews on the product LOL.... but then i find that reviews don't help me make a decision b/c everyone has a different opinion... so i've concluded that i just LIKE reading reviews haha...
I have just brought the moisturizer in the 30ml version and when applied, in the morning my skin becomes really firm.. its good stuff but dont apply so much coz it clogs the pores
Havent tried the other products yet, dont think theres a need too tho...
great review!

Anyone tried La Mer The Powder? I'm thinking about buying the translucent color... but not sure if it's worth it.
dsp714 2 years ago
Yes, definitely! It works for me very well, be sure to use the powder puff that comes with it- it gives a really smooth and lovely finish.

it's probably not the best product if you apply ur make-up with a butter knife.
theRoyKILLERwar 2 years ago
I was told that you should remove your make up first with a make up remover and then cleanse with a face wash.. Thank you for your honest review hun ;)

hi daniel, nice review! have u tried la praire? thanks for sharing
MsLuxelife 2 years ago
no i havent. maybe i will later :)
allaboutdaniel 2 years ago
Been using this line since I was 12. Only the line of moisturizers are really worth it. Otherwise, other products are only so so. But if your skin is really like traumatized ie. sunburn, windburn etc... The rest of the line including the cream will work perfect.
alexplot 2 years ago
since u were 12? wow u must have beautiful skin!
allaboutdaniel 2 years ago
wow i luv this review!! i would never thank that a man would give better advice on beauty than a women.. thanks for the review and give more reviews

Hi Daniel, I was wondering if you would like to do hair tutorial videos? Your hair always looks so good, it's styled but not over-styled.. if you know what I mean?
I would love to know what hair products you use too. :)

hehe thanks:) i will for sure.

try the gel of creme de la mer... it does not contain oils... I totally understand you might get annoyed by the greasy effect, but it is because it is design for dry skin, kind of like sensitive/delicate or damaged I believe.
missekat0210 2 years ago
yeah i tried the gel, dont like the smell either.. weird...
allaboutdaniel 2 years ago
but did you notice an improvement in your overall complexion??
I don;t care so much about smell or texture. It just has to make me look young!

I found your review for the eye cream to be very helpful. I just ordered the whole La Mer line. Let's see how it works for me. =)

u got the completely wrong range from the la mer range. Mens skin is much more oilier compared to womans and a cleansing lotion is never a good idea. U should have bought the cleansing gel and the toner and the oil control/ the la mer lotion. la mer creme is extremely rich in texture and does not normally suit combination skin until and unless u are living in a harsh cold environment. la mer consultant should have sold u correct products......a pity coz their products are simply superb!!!
raj0085 2 years ago
oh that sux ... yeah i tried the lotion but sitll broke me out. i did love the toner tho :)
allaboutdaniel 2 years ago
thanks for the review :P i rly love la mer products haha

hehe no probs. glad to hear it works for u ^_^
allaboutdaniel 2 years ago
u should have used the gel creme. I have combination skin. it saved my skin to be honest. sorry it didnt work for u. i hated the eye concentrate..it gave me irritation. my hubby uses the oil absorbing lotion with the toner...his skin is perfect now!!
suzanagazi 2 years ago
i tried a sample of that. but i coudlnt stand the typical la mer scent
great that it worked for u though! :)

Great review! I've been curious about this brand for awhile, but hadn't tried it because felt it was probably overrated and overpriced. Thanks for your honesty! ;)

Thanks so much for this honest review...I have heard many rumours about it being over-rated and I am glad I saw your review. Cheers!

Did you get Creme de La mer Gel?
The gel is suitable for oily skin. I understand the creme or lotion may be to rich for oily skin.
Take Care
PreppyLifestyle 2 years ago
no i got the lotion and creme. my skin isnt oily tho. more on the combination , even dry side in winter! oh well :(
allaboutdaniel 2 years ago
Weird how the creme can be oily for someone with dry/combination skin.
Good Luck!

hi i'm 16 and underneath my eyes the skin is like rly thin n delicate so i have dark circles n i have to be quite gentle when applying concealer if I do. I was thinking of getting that eye stuff with the silver spoon but you've kind of convinced me not to. Do you think any of the le mer products are worth it? At the moment i've been using clinique for 2 days - should I get the all about eyes balm, is it better than la mers?
Fwifl 2 years ago
i do like clinique all about eyes. but u could prob ask for a sample of the la mer eye concentrate b4 u buy it ?
allaboutdaniel 2 years ago
haha! i watched your review because i watched fuz' review and wanted more reviews on the product LOL.... but then i find that reviews don't help me make a decision b/c everyone has a different opinion... so i've concluded that i just LIKE reading reviews haha...

Good to know I'm not the only one unimpressed by Creme de la Mer! Their prices are stupid given their product, elemis too...
and that crushed pearl and crushed diamonds in their producs thing? Its plain stupid!
PipsyPops 2 years ago
meh, everyones different i guess. some love and swear by it ,others hate it lol
allaboutdaniel 2 years ago
I have just brought the moisturizer in the 30ml version and when applied, in the morning my skin becomes really firm.. its good stuff but dont apply so much coz it clogs the pores
Havent tried the other products yet, dont think theres a need too tho...
