Speaking of movies ... Alby is still alive and kicking. Hopefully, finally, he will get the respect he deserves as a pioneer in the documentary business, and as a living legend in his own time!

Although they're giving publicity to his biography (which is good) it seems like Today Tonight is trying to attach some spin here. It seems that Alby should somehow be "repentant" for re-enacting some of the scenes in his movies. Our cultural masters never really forgave him for going over their heads and succeeding in spite of them.

I'd be amazed if there's anyone out there who's had anything to do with either Alby Mangels or his movies who knows him as anything other than a legend.

Alby Mangels, a legend in his own time, was right at the beginning of the travel adventure documentary. It is really past time to recognize this creative artist and his contribution to the medium.

I just devoured his biography by Lynn Santer and was thoroughly impressed and pleasantly suprised by the quality of contentand all the color photos. I was also very glad to find out what Alby has been up to and what his future plans are. I will always love Alby!

I was very inspired by Alby to seek out adventure and follow his footsteps to see the world. After viewing his films some years ago on tv i decided to be "Adventure bound" and visit many of the exotic places he went to in his films. Alby has a fantastic philosophy for living a fulfilling life and im glad he has shared that for all of us to see in his remarkable films.
