Btw, Singapore is a country that focuses alot on attracting foreign talent since our only resource is manpower and there seems to be a lack of it. So no doubt we will have many foreigners around as well, who may end up applying for citizenship. They are also Singaporeans then, so why can't they join the Singapore complaints choir? :)

Initially I felt that this performance was wonderful. To my disappointment, I realised that later the National Anthem had been inappropriately used in the performance. It is appalling to see people in this video singing the "distorted version" of our national anthem.

I think the ability to organise the choir, write the lyrics and melody is commendable. It is creativity.

However, I feel a lot of the complaints are not unique to Spore. I live overseas (USA) and things happen that way too.

The choir is there to provide some fun and inject some spirit into the city. The complaints are true to some, not true to others. Its just some complaints that can be done by anyone. Anyway its only a matter of do you enjoy it or do you not.

Actually, Alvin Tan made it clear before every performance that MDA gave him no trouble at all with the lyrics, and that it was the Police who imposed the restrictions on performance.

For some reason, the ST either missed that fact or deliberately failed to report it. Wonder why?

Just to clarify: The complaints choir movement accepts EVERY and ANY single person who may be interested in it. And this includes those who had no choral training whatsoever. Given that, you cannot expect that this is gonna be a top-notch choral performance because the point doesn't lie in choral singing quality. I mean, if you want that, you can probably listen to SYC or the other fantastic choirs in Singapore.
