What is 4:08 supposed to be? It looks like the moon lander on the moon, but this is 2 years before they even went. I believe it happen because buzz Aldrin is a mason and he wouldn't lie, but this is pretty fishy stuff.
@kosmicwizard Concept designs for the LM (Lunar Module) started appearing in publications in 1962. The final design of the LM that would go to the moon was revealed in Feb. 1967. The models shown at EXPO67 were actual design mockups used by NASA during development, and were available for display purposes. Seeing them in person was a major highlight of my trip there as an 11 year old.

Amazing! I was born in '72, so I totally missed EXPO. However, for some reason, this event appeals to me. Back in '85 I saw the ruins of the site which gave the appearance of a futuristic ghost town (it was used as such in several films). It was sad to see that this once-beloved site was abandoned and left to rot. Today, very little is left of expo '67, yet it looked so amazing back in the day.
Does anyone out there have video of the 'ruins' of expo, prior to it being demolished? Let me know!
This is great! For some reason, it's a bit sad. I was born in 1971 and it just seems so innocent a time. Everyone looks so polite and dressed nicely. When did it all change? The space display was a real history trip!
Interesting observation about people looking polite and dressing nicely.... I did attend this expo and have great memories of it. As for when the world changed, I attribute much of the change to the huge voice that youth had about pop culture, drugs, the Vietnam War, the women's movement and anti-establishment thinking that blossomed in the late 1960s. A great deal had already changed quickly by the mid-70s.
Certainly we've gained so much more with the women's movement, gay rights, civil rights, etc,? We've become a lot more understanding and accepting of each other. They may have been dressed nicely and behaving nicely - but, there was a lot of systemised bigotry and hatred back then. I am proud of the country we have now. Looking back at clips like this is great; however, it does feel like it's from a different planet. Lol! xo
I think I still have my Expo 67 passport around here somewhere.
