@DRAGONSWORDXXX Yeah, it had been a while since I'd looked at all my Shogun Warriors stuff, was a bit rusty on the names. He was actually called "Dragun" in the U.S. line, where that figure is from (I know, they messed up all the names from the original Japanese versions).
Ha Ha you're awesome! You've finally solved the 30 year mystery for me regarding this toy I have had since I was a kid. I could never for the life of me, remember where it came from or it's make till you said the word 'Shogun'. All I knew was back then, I liked the look of it and my brother had a Godzilla one so is why I wanted it. It looked like one of those gigantic robots Godzilla would battle in his movies. Mine is around 2 feet and looks exactly like the red one you have on the left.
I am new to your page but i like your videos I am just getting started collection movies but i like the old classic films what would you go with to start
I do remember seeing Dune in my younger days & there being a lot more to it, but every time I've viewed it following that, be it on television or DVD it has been the 'abridged' version. I wasn't sure that the extended version was out there or if my memory had failed me in some way. Thanks for clearing that up.
i almost got the same colection as yours but i got sum stuff you dont or i did not see i ment like the GUYVER 1 2 3 . the last starfighter or explorers but the babilone 5 wow tha was hot i start listening to the series cuz that kid from the series lost inspace in the 60 or 70 !! was in it i use to have that mk 5 starfury models that starship look so amazing a still got the tac pin from revel of a star fury
I am really interested in watching Dr. Who, but there's so much that I don't know where to start. Is there an episode or set you could suggest that's not only one of the best but could also help me get a better grasp of the Dr. Who universe? Thanks for your time...and great videos, by the way!
Did you ever get round to watching aliens vs predator? Its certainly worth watching at least once. But whatever you do, dont watch the sequel AVP2:Requiem. It isn't worth getting for any reason.
its gonna suck to have to buy all this stuff again on blue ray. then the blue ray extras will be different so you deffintly have to buy them again. i would love to see galactica 1980 in blueray and only on blueray and if it doesnt cum out for a while i can surely wait!!!!!
Believe it or not, I STILL haven't watched the 2001 Planet of the Apes! I just love the old ones so much I'm...SCARED to see what was done to it after all the negative reactions! :P But I love Tim Burton, so maybe I'll just try to take it as its own thing and resist the temptation to compare it to the old one too much.
Revisited is included in the Ultimate Matrix set. All the other extras are different from the old versions. TONS of new documentaries, 2 new commentaries for each movie (which are EXCELLENT commentaries, really interesting to listen to)... Yeah, just a great set overall. My only complaint is they didn't port over the old extras as well (aside from Revisited).
Which contains like this bust-statuette of Neo with like 10 separate DVDs (or thin boxes), oh and a book, in some kind of transparent plastic CD-rack.
Which is the same reason I find it to be a bit extravagant to put in about any collection.
Anyway, I found that apparently they're going to release thát one in BRD too.
I guess they're trying to re-sell that one again, but I still wouldn't really want it.
The "Ultimate Matirx" collection (which is the one I shown in this video) was really nice quality, I thought. But yeah, if you want ALL the extras you need the original releases as well. The single disc release of the first one, and the 2-disc versions of the sequels.
The new BD version of the Ultimate Matrix set has everything that was in this version, but with all the movies (and The Animatrix) in HD. The extras are still SD, though. And you still need the original releases for everything
Nope, those are both Region 1 sets. Oh, you're wondering about the French, right? In Canada you'll often find both the English and French on the boxes. Not always, but often. Other than the French on the boxes, the contents are the same as the U.S. version.
I have the 9 discs set of Alien quadrilogy and Battlestar Galactica original tv series box set (not the 1 in silver head box) I also have E.T. 2 disc edition.
Because, if it's not obvious, I am an OBSESSIVE DVD COLLECTOR and a COMPLETIST. Since I have all the Alien and Predator movies, I basically HAD to get it simply because they were in it. Pretty simple, really.
Thank you for your insightful opinion. I would be happy to discuss Babylon 5 with you, but clearly you lack the ability to have a normal discussion about something. Goodbye.
The Matrix single disc editions have seperate extras? Oh, fab. And there I was thinking I was set with the ultimate collection. Also, didn't they release an even-more-ultimate collection with a big book and a bust of Neo?
Yep! The single disc edition of the first movie had a commentary with Carrie Anne Moss and the guy who invented Bullet time (his name escapes me at the moment), the second one had the MTV Movie Awards parody, and I don't recall what the third one had... But all those extras are nowhere to be seen/heard on the Ultimate Set. :P There was a version of the Ultimate set that has a bust of Neo, but the discs had the same content as the regular Ultimate Collection.
Now the Ultimate Collection is FINALLY coming out on BluRay! This time around it will include the Animatrix in HD as well (the old HD-DVD edition only had the movies in HD, Animatrix was still SD) No idea if the old extras will be included this time around...but I'll definitely be upgrading when that puppy comes out! :D
Actually, the Alien Quadrilogy set is the most definitive collection out there for the Alien movies - it has two versions of each movie, all the extras from the old deluxe Laserdisc editions of the first two (which were amazing sets on their own!), and hours upon hours of extras for all 4. Unless they come out with a superior set (such as this set on BluRay or something), there's no way I'm swapping it for another edition!
The first Predator deluxe set (we have both deluxe editions of the Predator movies) and both AVP movies are out on BluRay with all the extras, so we'll be getting those shortly to cover that end of the franchise.
You got a nice collection, lots of stuff there I wish I had, that's not on in my collection. Also, not that it really matters, just pointing it out. The first toy robot you pointed at is called Getter Robo G.
Definitely! And loaded with pure GOLD in extras. Considering how loooong Blade Runner fans were waiting for a special edition, that set paid off in spades. :)
Yeah it really did. I almost just settled for The Final Cut, but I really wanted the Director's Cut and Thetrical cuts as well, so the Blu-Ray briefcase was pretty much one of the best purchases I've ever made
I love that it has ALL the various cuts. Really rare to see that with a DVD set, especially when there's so many variants. HAY, James McAvoy! :D
But you didn't see Tim Burton's 'Planet Of The Apes'?!
Well, this recording is from April, so maybe you did now...
But I loved it when it was in the cinema, I think by that time I also saw one or two of the old movies.
I recently found that a whole bunch of people say it's bad though.
That like, it doesn't have to do much with the originals or it's just a bad action-movie now...
Which was weird, since I thought it was a great success.
Btw, sorry for spamming messages...

Also, you mentioned to get the "single-disc versions" in addition to the box.
However,I have them in 2-disc-versions.
Well, actually that's a lie, the last two are, the first is one of the late '90s cardboard boxes.
But you know...
I guess that would also do, since they might contain even more than any single-disc versions?
Besides the first part then, which I doubt has thát much extra.
Maybe I should get the "Revisited" version for that?
Only one is like 25 and one like 8 Pounds, weird...
DamageIncM 3 years ago

Zaranyzerak 3 years ago
Hm, alright, so all I need would be the "Ultimate Edition" still.
Or... I could just go with the BRD-set and leave the original DVDs for the extra extras (lol).
And yes, it's really weird they didn't just include those with the newer releases.
That's always so unlogical and annoying for the collectors...
Hm, thinking of it, they probably secretly want to sell multiple versions still.
But even completing them would sell good, if not better.
DamageIncM 3 years ago
I'm actually going to cover this a bit in my next DVD/Blu-ray update. Stay tuned! :)
Zaranyzerak 3 years ago
Alright, I'll keep an eye out.
By the way, you know that óther 'The Matrix'-set?
Which contains like this bust-statuette of Neo with like 10 separate DVDs (or thin boxes), oh and a book, in some kind of transparent plastic CD-rack.

DamageIncM 3 years ago
Oh, by the way:
Would you know how that set is compared to the one you have?
I think I'd just go with the BRD-set, even though I like the 10-disc-set's box better.
I'll wait a bit with BRDs anyway.
Also, can you confirm your set has DTS-audio as described on a page on Amazon or is that indicated incorrectly?
I'm actually currently creating a list on my DVDs, looks like I have a LOT of stuff. XD
But some things are downright bad, weird or even ridiculous. :P
Some real nice things too...
DamageIncM 3 years ago
You know, I was going to ask about different versions of 'The Matrix', I love those movies.
But I had seen a couple of different ones, including the thick one you have there, which would be the 10-disc "ultimate collection" edition right?
I think I also saw one or two more sets with a lot of discs.
So it all gets kind of confusing, what contains what.
And probably also BRD-versions, or maybe just one.
I've also heard one is of bad quality, I think the 10-disc-version...
So, what do you think.
DamageIncM 3 years ago

Ahh, I see. I assumed you were American. Nice collection you've got there.
anvilofcrom 3 years ago
Actually, here in The Netherlands we have a lot of French as an alternative language too.
If not text on the box, it would be the second or third or so audio-track.
And I think that's just a waste of space for both the cover-art and the disc-content.
I can understand them putting Dutch on it since it's the countries language, which I don't like already.
And the same counts for other countries.
But especially the audio, just keep it the original and subtitle it.
It isn't there for nothing right?
