I can render crap using the fanciest materials, simulators, and rendering engine, but guess what? It will still be crap. I'm sorry, that wasn't very constructive, so I'll tell you this- Try looking at some test footage. You should try to match your work to that. Slow computer is not an excuses, you just have to be clever. people 10 years ago made effects more complex than this on slower computers. I know you can do it. Just give yourself time.

When a bullet is fired, the casing is ejected. You have the entire casing flying with the bullet. *facepalm* With as good a tutorial you made and the outstanding results, having the entire bullet as one (casing included) ruins the whole thing for me.

okay, so the bullet needs to be going faster, atleast so the bullet exits before the egg smashes and the fluid is released and the shell/casing of the bullet needs to go. also, just before the bullet actually touches the egg, the egg starts to crack at the top. like i said earlier the bullet needs to be going faster, atleast so the bullet exits before the egg smashes and the fluid is released! otherwise this is amazing!

FYI: When a bullet is fired, only the slug shoots out of the barrel. The cartridge is either ejected or stays in the cylinder .. or something.

when a bullet is fired the casing(shell) stays in the gun or ejected by the action. It does not fly with the bullet like your video shows. It does look neat, almost real.

You should make it with the actual slug hitting the egg since there are 2 parts to a bullet the casing wouldnt leave the gun only the little slug at the end gets propelled out. Having that would add more to it but still a nice job

physically, only few small particles should fly away by the bullet's entry point. Then, before the bursting liquid, the egg would explode, because of the intense pressure that bullet created inside. Parts of egg usually do not fly 300 mph so only cracks should be seen. When the bullet hits the outer wall, however, the egg would collapse ande most of it would follow the bullet.

That's for the physics. =]

Anyway, awesome video. How long did it take to render the frames?

my way in life is to learn as much on everything ill try to work on \ touch,

in this case, read some on bullets (basics)

know a thing or two about eggs (hey knowledge doesn't hurt :P)

and thermodynamic of fluids (basics)

the only the bullet should be seen, not the whole thing with the cartridge, as for ballistics, the egg should react a lot more aggressively , the upper part completely separated, and the egg will certainly fall off the stick...

also notice that the bullet is still inside the egg as quite a lot of fragments already flew away...

the fragments will probably only start leaving the main egg frame after the bullet existed the egg,

i dont try to criticize... don't get me wrong mate, u did a beautiful work!

During slowmotion the bullet should be faster than the egg's liquid.

Nice rendering and physics on the cracking and splatter of both the eggshell and the yoke/albumen!

In terms of the physics, I think it would be even better if you could have the top of the egg pushed up by the impact, and maybe have some of the bullet's momentum transferred to the lower half of the egg too. (I'm not sure how realistic this would be cos in fact the shock wave would probably completely shatter the entire egg, but I think it would feel very satisfying...)

um yeah lol, i don't think the fluid from the egg would fall out like that, it would all be blasted away, but ur textures were great, but idk if you didn't want to take the time to have the egg move from getting hit by a bullet, but yeah, thats what happens
