  • The music industry can be a real crock of shit..Ableedin poison chalice even if you like. the mans a legend, no question. We will love you forever Phil.

  • Has anyone ever tried cleaning the hiss and crackle off this track?

  • @Scottishenglish - They need "The Ronco Record Cleaner."

  • damn shame phil didnt get to release a third solo album

it would of been the hit album he needed or should i say deserved!

this is a great piece along with many other previously unreleased gems of phils at that time

  • Phil just always had a good sound.. whatever he did.. even just speaking

That's why this man is special

  • this style really suits him, he would've had conquered the 80s too i am definitely sure, not sure about the 90s though... probably not.

  • Phil played these DEMOS and asked me to sing bv´s on the next recording also a track i think was called whats the matter i said to Phil he sounded like an irish Marvin Gaye we both laughed What a charming kind man Phil could be

so many sides of Phils music tastes he wasnt just a rocker he was an excellent musician: he said he wasnt a real bass player like Stanley Clarke and Pastorious and i said those guys cant sing and play at the same time as you again he laughed! miss you phil

  • You make me cry Phil...

  • @LONELION17 Strange, sometimes i feel the same way and it's only with him!

  • You make me cry Phil...

  • love these dance mix demos, i prefer them rather than the live ones. It just sounds unique and could be another side of grand slam

  • Thanks for posting this great piece of rare work. What a musical genius he was.

  • Great bass playing, all these songs should be reworked and get released for all the Lynott fans..ok sorry ... back to earth

  • Yeah, maybe it was the Natzi uniforms that did it for him.... me, I was in an English Band, over in Germany called 'The Boys' before we met and mistakenly thought we were 'friends'!

'What's the Matter'!? Too hard.... to much rough stuff, stone cold? 'Bad Reputation'?

You'll never know how much that cost me in pain and suffering and I didn't tell any lies........ Want my 'life', beware you just might get it!

  • What? Nazi uniforms? What are you talking about?

  • Back when 'Thin Lizzy' were NEW, they 'dressed up' in German, World War Two Uniforms! 'The Boys' were an ENGLISH Band, out in GERMANY, in the late Sixties BEFORE I met PHIL, who I mistakenly thought was a 'real' friend! Sadly he didn't care about me! He will never be a German neither will I!

It is clear you nothing about the early days of 'Thin Lizzy', check it out!

He really DOES deserve the name of

    'ROCK MONSTER'!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @Ziggyztarz im interested, tell me more..

  • Lynnot is a music giant.

  • A definite move by Phil from his "Solo in Soho" album to a more mature sound..what a great poet..5 stars..thank you so much!

  • nice bass sound, I dig the R& B feel. Everything Phil did was golden.

  • nice to see the songs back up here

    nice one ryan

  • Very cool.

Thanks so much SabFan, you are a star.

  • THNAKS SO MUCH MATE.Cant wait for post #300!

  • Great video!

Were getting close to video 300 now!

  • Yeah, but will it be a Sabbath video or a Lizzy video...I think I may have accidently promised the spot to both camps. Oops. Perhaps I'll post 299 and 300 at the same time. I can upload more than one at once now thanks to YouTube.

  • Well 299 or 300, it will be good regardless. This is sparta!
