An odd question for you, @JonasBridgous but is it possible to play the lower-scale electric guitar solos (the "dreamy" parts, like at 5:20 in your vid here) on the bass and still have it come out sounding okay? I don't know too much about the bass guitar, so I'm not sure if you get what I mean...

Flea is credited on the album as the bassist. During the De-Loused recording (don't know if during the writing phase) they had no permanent bassist so they asked Flea to play.

Once they were prepping to go live they got Juan.

yep, Flea was the bassist for Volta in the beginning and played all the bass parts on De-Loused, before Juan became a full-time member.
