  • Révolution trahie mais espoir identique a celui des révoltes d'aujourd'hui en Afrique du nord

  • It's amazing!

  • People can say watever of comunism... thats it bad or watever. In fact i accept marxist ideas but i know it wouldnt benefit me by my social status. Still the art of footage and cinematography of Eisenstein its the best i ever seen in my whole life.Even if this can be considered communist propaganda its epic. Eisenstein shows us a revolution during the mute era with use of epic russian choir music and structured use of extras and shots. Communist or not Eisenstein its a pure genious.

  • Anyone know the song title?

  • sorry to sound dumb, but can someone tell me how this is a metric montage example, what repeated value is he using for the cut?

  • amazing

  • Que viva LENIN

  • Did you know more people died in the making of this movie then in the attack on the palace in the revolution itself? That's fucked up

  • @FREAKSmoviereviews

How did more people die in the making of this movie?

  • @rudy4pl Well, in that time movies needed to be more prestigious and overwhelming. so, instead of doing the scene with a few hundred people, like in the actual event, they used few thousand people. Also they asked the people to bring their own weapons. needles to say it resulted in total chaos. Most of the amateur weapons were loaded etc...

  • long live the soviet union? your joking me right? does 7 million people killed through industrialisation and collectivisation mean nothing to you? hierarchy is needed otherwise no one has incentive to work. The Soviet Union was unproductive and morally backward, who wants that? socialism is a waste of time.

  • @JamieMillwall You would make a great slave owner...if the practice was still around.

  • @JamieMillwall reading you is a real waste of time

  • I mention Eisenstein and Potemkin in The Celebrity Song.

  • Let's Go bt the Red Army Choir

  • does somebody knows the name of the song ???

  • Aqui esta ;)...

Russian Red Army Choir - "Let's Go" (В путь!)

    watch?v=_jqOGpzNrg4&feature=related

  • I mean I really like it alot..alot..I wish I knew what they are saying..It's a waltz..I think is the most russian song I ever heard

  • Radnaea..I don't know what they are saying, but I like the song alot..It's ..heroic..proud..heavy ..and ..sweet..all in the same time ..

  • I like the chorus singing. What is the name of this song?

  • no more stale meat!

  • History will repeat itself...One day instead of the Winter Palace....the people will be rushing the stairs of Capitol Hill in Washington D.C.

  • hope they put it on YouTube lmao

  • eisentein used discontinuity editing, that's why its feel weird..

  • punish individual thinking and crush the human spirit. long live solzhenitsyn and heap dung on the bolshevik thugs

  • Long live the revolution!

Long live the theories of Marx,Engels,Lenin and Stalin!

  • Long live international revolution!

  • bu filmi ben çektim

  • Ein hoch auf Mütterchen Russland xD

  • Truly epic.

  • Long live revolution everywhere!

  • inspiring film. the weird thing is that more people died making the film then they did in the actual revolt because they accidently loaded the rifles with real bullets.

  • lol i find this very hard to believe

  • It's true, because of the great number of actors, there's wasn't really a role for everyone so they just kept shooting in all directions. And it's also true that they used real guns and bullets so more people got killed in this movie then at the real revolution. btw: can someone tell me wether it really was Lenin who led the people in St-Petersburg? Because at that time I think he was hiding in Finland.

  • Capitalism isn't doing so well just now. Still, some ethnic or religious minority will take the rap, most probably the Muslims.

  • I can't believe I used to hate communism. But now, i see the light. All oppressed people of the world must unite to strike down capitalism and fascism! Rise up as one!

  • wow, a fast change of point of view hehe

  • hahaha exactly my thoughts, but in a hellokitty format

  • So Eisenstein pioneered the technique of really quick changes in images like in short attention span MTV music videos and most commercials nowadays?

  • 6 people died in the October revolution and mainly from friendly fire. The only interesting event is ommitted by Eisenstein, Kerensky leader of the PG fleeing Petrograd disguised as a female nurse and no thats not a pathetic attempt at humour it really did happen.

  • Who is the composer of this music?

    Good film.

  • What a good video! Long live the Soviet Union! Long live the socialism! Down with the fucking capitalism!

  • studying Sergei Eisenstein in A Level

    Film Sudies

  • o my gosh, the famous fragment where more people got killed in the movie then in the real oktoberrevolution, in the time when people took over the palace, shame on eisenstein but still the most excentric artist in sovjet and user of russish editing!!

  • Long Live The Workers Of All Nations!

The working class will conquer the capitalist pigs in the U.S. one day!

  • God I wish I lived prior to 1950. I was born in 91 and all I've heard is modern shit with U.S. dominance.

In those days there seemed to be a major, large scale historical event occurring every day.

  • righto.

and you lived in constant fear that you were going to have the living hell bombed out of you at any moment.

  • Yeah, there is a reason for the old Chinese curse- "May you live in interesting times".

  • Don't get discouraged. These times may prove interesting yet.

  • Things are starting to happen little by little. Check out Latin America, right now they are experiencing something similar to this with indigenous and working class peoples uniting to elect revolutionary governments.

  • look at southern Europe. Greece and Spain are suffering very badly under their right wing regimes and t he economic crisis, and masses of the people are rioting against it. I even read that they burned down a neo-nazi headquarters in Athens. Very admirable of them.

  • The music is a Second World War Soviet military sog, though I don't know the title.

  • The song is called "Soldaty V Pohod" usually translated as "Let's go" or "Off we go". you can find it on youtube by searching for "Soldaty V Pohod"

  • Red Army Choir - Let's Go (From Maxime Perepelitsa)

  • Oh Very nice!

  • Hmm Dutch subtitles... interesting...

  • This clip is 2 minutes and 20 seconds and during that time it seems as if there were 200 shots. Soviet montage films can leave you dizzy with the barage of images. The Germans, on the other hand, with camera movement is more to my liking.

  • Wonderful! I saw these images during a reportage on high school in Holland and I thought they were real!!!

  • a masterpiece in the movie's history!

  • The music is not original, has even nothing to do with this.
