  • If the dictionary had a definition for "tight band", this would be it

  • Genesis with Phil Collins was more a "pop/rock" group to me and that's not an insult in my mouth. Queen also evolved into pop territory during the 80s and used the keyboards as well. Did not prevent both bands from making masterpieces like "Invisible Touch" or "A Kind Of Magic"

  • Chester Thompson is beast.

  • Phil looks like a young Pontus Enhörning.

  • disturbed fucked this song. Genesis ownds all <33

  • fuck disturbed, go write a song yourself .... don't copy or cover it because only Phil can sing this EPIC!

  • Can't we all agree they are both good, disturbed's version does do this justice. Can't we be glad that we have bands out there that make music with meaning unlike the rest of the manufactured shit out their?

    Agree?

  • for me its better the disturbed cover, the original version its idk like boring

  • @alexzcorpio17 You're seriously kidding right?

  • You have great taste in Deity and Music!!! :-) Thanks for pulling me into the Rock Stream!

PS - I think I accidentally hit a flag for inappropriate on your Captain Video...Not sure but if so SORRY!!

  • Is that Dr Spock from Star Trek at 2.04?

    It's weird.

  • An amazing song by one of the greatest bands of all time!!! We are really inspired by these guys, and would love your opinion on our material, any feedback would be greatly appreciated, keep on rocking man!!

  • Great song.

  • Bono's Mullet was the Alpha Mullet in the 80's. Phil was to thin on top to pull off a true Alpha Mullet.

  • Phil Rocks that mullet! Awesome performance. This is definitely on my "must get" list of DVD concerts.

  • That is the alpha mullet, all lesser mullets must bow down to it.

  • What's even more awesome about his 1986-87 era mullet is that his puppet from the LoC video was an exact replica of his real one!

  • @DisasterPiece73 I don't know if you have it but the DVD is missing the "Cage" medley (was meant to take place after "The Brazilian" and before "Land Of Confusion") :)

  • Phil and the ridiculous 80's MULLET

  • es una canciòn muy buen de un gran frupo de rock

  • pronto viene un video mio con tema propio

  • QUE TEMASO LOCO¡¡UNA LOCURA¡¡

  • wow , full of power !!! like this song !

  • This song sounds way better live than on record (thanks to 'live' percussion).

  • That was a concert in wembley in july 1987. Queen was there exactly one year before in they're best concert. The eigthies was a very nice time!! here in mexico city genesis was in the charts in 1987. i was 11. thanks

  • they did i just heard it

  • 82 phil still had hair!

  • which year is this

  • Comment removed

  • 1987

  • genesis version is always better, mainly cuz they wrote it, there the ones who brought the issues up in the 1st. place plus the video makes the song more political because it critizes the president at the time (Ronald Reagan) and it also makes fun of all the pop stars at the time (example a knocked up madonna)

  • madre mia, oh my God, super expectacle, super show...y yo creia que los mejores eran Pink floyd, espero que toquen en españa...alguna vez, la ultima me los perdi.

  • love this song no matter who does it... its a good fucking song...FACT! thats the truth..

  • what the words mean for the 2 versions ( genesis and disturbed) are totaly different. disturbed's version has something to do with the chaos of the world and stuff. as for genesis i have no freaking idea what the words mean.

  • They mean the same thing dude.

  • Since I love disturbed and didn't know about genesis since recently, I think Disturbed's version is better but this is great!

  • nice song

  • not the best of them, but good enough...

  • Gee why would they take credit for a song THEY WROTE and a song that was their massive hit single before disturbed ever thought of being a band.

  • I was saying GENESIS takes credit but I like Disturbed's version better. Read the comment right.

  • You said "I like Disturbed version better, but this band takes all the credit for the song". And I commented as to why. Read what YOU said before telling someone else to read it right. Genesis takes credit for it because THEY wrote it. They had a hit with it. And did so when members of Disturbed were in middle school. I like both versions but your original comment was foolish.

  • "but this band takes credit for the song"

THIS BAND is referring to the one in the video. Aka GENESIS. Lol don'y try and correct me b/c you cant.

  • yeah and THIS BAND in the video, aka Genesis WROTE IT. THUS TAKING ALL THE CREDIT NIMROD.

  • "I like Disturbed version better, but this band takes all credit for the song. "

    Exactly what I said.

I simply stated my opinion and then gave Genesis props for the song.

You rly need to calm down...3 consecutive comments is a bit unnecessary. And I dont give a fck about negative responses.

  • Hey if your giving Genesis props for it, great. But read your phrasing. Your phrasing makes it sound like your bitching about Genesis taking that credit, as opposed to giving them "props".Thus my initial correction. You wanna give props, give props. Choose your words alittle better so that people know thats what your doing.

  • Well I see where you're coming from but I didnt mean it like that at all. Just tryin to post fast cause I got a tight schedule

  • Cool man. I misunderstood you. My appologies. Have a good one!

  • Its all good

  • i was at this gig at omg it was pure heaven i think i was maybe 19 i think god it was so long but it is one concert i will never ever forget xxxxxx

  • I mean your seriously dense. Genesis wrote it back when your heros Disturbed were barely hitting puberty. So your damned right they take full credit for this song. It's THEIR song.

  • Oh and as far as correcting you. Notice the original comment you made has gotten 6 negative responses, 5 of which before I found it. So obviously either your clueless as to what you say, or your a dense moron. You were corrected, because you said something foolish and inaccurate. You wanna be pissed and childish about it little boy, then feel free. But your comment was idiotic and I have no issue telling you so.

  • Of course genesis takes credit for this song it's their song

  • no shit

  • You wrote

I like Disturbed version better, but this band takes all credit for the song.

I interpreted that to mean that Genesis takes credit even though they shouldn't. I obviously misunderstoond but in fairness I'm not the only one and you weren't very clear.

  • he means that he likes the disturbed version better....but genesis deserves and gets all the credit for writing the song.

  • Genesis is without a doubt one of the best rock groups ever, certainly the best progrock group. It's songs like LoC that cemented that reputation! Of course, it's a great song, so unless you totally screw up , most covers are good ;)

  • @AphoticCosmos

The best progrock group is certainly Rush.

  • @Pyro4414 I agree with this statement.

  • disturbed better than genesis? haha what a joke

  • Nah, Distubreds is too metally...loses alot of its pazazz for me

  • it's a great song in any cover i've heard except for a swedish band called Alcazar who've stolen the chorus but nothing else (dont ask me why, they're just stupid if u ask me). The 3 most famous versions of the song would be this (obviously), disturbed and in flames. all 3 versions are great and worth listen to. its no wonder why there's been so many covers of it

  • mike draiman (the vocalist of disturbed)was 13 years old when this song came out

    jesus

  • you mean david draiman, right?

  • oh fuck

    i fail

    lmfao

was thinking of the drummer as well

his name is mike wengren :P

  • lmao :P

  • I wouldn't say that either is better. Depends on what you like more. Genesis is electronica, and Disturbed is heavy metal. The song itself, in any rendition, is awesome: a song ACTUALLY about Revolution, out of the confusion.

  • this is LIVE AID?

  • no it isn't...this is a date of INVISIBLE TOUCH TOUR in July 1987...

  • thank you

  • 1st class performance by a 1st class band, i wasnt born in this generation but i wish i was..and i wish there was bands like this now days.

  • no its not, Its a genesis song which disturbed covered.

  • Genesis = way better

  • Is the fact that this occurred while most of Disturbed was in Grade School mean nothing to you? Oh wait, you can't differentiate between the words herd and heard, so I am fighting a losing battle.

  • i am hat

  • It's a Genesis song which disturbed covered, you idiot.

  • Brilliant Live Performance Gr8 share

    Laura Cheers

    Phil Is Brill lol!!

  • Thanks for sharing this one,Laura!!Phil is great!!!

  • This is a happy moment! Thanks Laura for sharing! WoooooooHooooo!

  • It is an awesome moment to be able to have front row seats to see Genesis in 2009...what an honour and deep appreciation to you vanriz for this CLASSIC GENESIS 5*S Moment!! Big Thanks to PsychedelicPsuzie...for the LOVE!! PEACE!!

  • i'd sell my laptop just to have been there

  • I noticed they tuned the song down since this song is pretty hard to sing those high notes live.

  • ok, when was chuck norris a member of genesis?

    pause at 1:22

  • Lol. Maybe they got together for a worthy cause.

  • chuck norris is not a member of genesis, chuck norris IS genesis

  • Chuck Norris was in every legendary band that ever excisted...Because he's just that great. ;)

  • timeless music!!! good!!!

  • this concert has been beeb awesome

    thanks for posting

  • in my opinion its the best live version of this song ever!!

  • genesis is better live then disturbed.

  • he always wears sweats and a tank top

on the reunion tour, everyone had on black cept for him and his blue t-shirt

  • @sillua1 just becuz disturbed uses a shit load of effects

  • is the drummer only wearing underwear at 1:13

  • Nice haircut Phil!

  • u know my friend, a great song is great when an artist leaves room for others to add in their own taste. i have heard the disturbed version and i think they added in some interesting feel to it. made it even darker the genesis had in mind. i dont think it's better but more as it is just another great veriation of an already great song.

  • I dont think its better, but its a damn good cover. Rock On!!!

  • phil vocals where the best on here. after this he has always done a very low toned vocals. but this has a lot of passion. this is very much like heat on the street, lyric wise. both songs about making a change in a damaged and messed uop world. to make it a land worth fighting for. music like this from great artists should be a wake up call to people. our leaders, not just in the u.s. but over the world need to be removed. they are corrupt of money and power. yes even our beloved leaders.

  • kewl!

  • I like so much!

When did they perform at Wembley?

  • 1986/87 on the invisible touch tour. sold out 4 nights if memmory serves.

  • thx

  • I love this song! És tan de bon rotllo!

    kisses to everybody!!!!

  • I think this is the best live version.

  • definitly

i rememebr this exact same video on you tube... exceot it sounded alot clearer... i wonder what happened??

  • Already here, the song is performed in a lower key. Or maybe the origianl recording was simply too high right from the start

  • they slowed it down for all the tours actually,,,. don't know why... I do like this version though!!

  • Eesh, compressed to the max! I might as well just go get the DVD and watch this there!

Performance wise, this is a gem.

  • Collins is singing this beautifully

  • the was anothewr vidoe of this same one...and it sounded better too ..what happened to it???

  • agreed, sublime

  • best live performance of the song on youtube

  • This is the best live version of this song from Genesis!

  • Everything was perfectly in sync for this song, but the keyboards dominated this and it sounds awesome. Props to Tony.

  • Greatness! I love the synth voices "oooooh ... oooh" at around 2:30 - 3:00. =]] I love the bass too. And then the lyrics and the lightshow at Wembley. WONDERFUL!

  • thank visit my tube

  • Huh? But he does the "ohoo" after EVERY chorus. :\

  • phil does that as an add-on when he does it live. Basicall phil collins wants to give as much as possible in each of his songs... when he does the ohhh part in this after every chorus hes portraying tha pain that people can go through in that tone, he studied alot of english and how to use words, he does it in every gig and is also a very big star becuase of it.

  • Huh...? I know that. That was.... very random. Oh wait. Dang this was meant to be a reply to jmcmgeekstar.

  • Best version of this song live from Genesis

  • thanks bro

  • Best version of this song, Genesis or Disturbed, hands down.

  • yeah baby

    la puteria!

  • awesome
