If I am out on my motorbike and have a crash, I am taken to the hospital and my broken bones are fixed and I receive superb care and all at no cost to me at the time. The National Health System is treasured by the British. The Doctors and Nurses are loved and respected by the people . The system in the USA is shocking & sad.

I live in Canada and have always had excellent medical service for free. I have not had months of waiting like some US media has said (who are these people saying these lies to americans about canadian healthcare?!!!). I was in an emergency in Florida recently, for less than an hour. I talked to a doctor for 10 minutes and left. I later received 2 bills in the mail for about $800.

I'm brazilian, public administration student. Well, i really would like to take this "Cuban Excelent Health System" as true. I would like to live in an altruist world, where communism would be the best option. But history and life show us that it's not... sad. We have to accept our nature. But about this video, i don't know who to believe: Fox News's truth or Michael Moore's truth. Only a real visit to Cuba (i hope i do it someday) to see what's actually going on there.

(british prices are 1/6 of these prices!), so it isnt affordable for usa to give free medical care to everyone

I am NOT a fan of the government Cuba, but going to Cuba would have never been necessary if America had universal healthcare. If he broke US law by going into Cuba, then that is a law that should be broken. It is a dumb law. Google the phrases "illegal immigrants" and "health care" together and you will find plenty of documentation of the costs to our system. Illegals don't have to pass medical exams the way legal immigrants have to, so that opens up to TB and all sorts of conditions.
My parents had to pass health exams to get into this country. When Hurricane Jean hit Haiti, none of my father's relatives could get visas to enter the U.S. legally, even though their lives were endangered. It is a double standard.

we might pay much more taxes than you do (about 40% of our salary) but what is left is to enjoy and when the day comes that we need to have an expensive treatment, we dont need to worry about the price. My mum had skin cancer twice, had 5 different treatments, 8 surgeries, rehabilitation sessions, etc.. and if she's alive today its because she could receive that help because it was all absolutely free.

That is more $ than I have paid for medical in my entire lifetime in Canada which has included hospital visits, surgeries, tests etc. I felt an injustice with those high medical bills for having a short conversation with a doctor. I pray that americans get a universal health care system like the rest of the developed world enjoys. Vote it in people and do your own research and don't just accept what your biased media tells you.

I live in Canada and have always had excellent medical service for free. I have not had months of waiting like some US media has said (who are these people saying these lies to americans about canadian healthcare?!!!). I was in an emergency in Florida recently, for less than an hour. I talked to a doctor for 10 minutes and left. I later received 2 bills in the mail for about $800.

America doesnt have a universal health care system because of the judish medical comunitty (which actually manages health in usa) has made a real business of the medicine, billing UNBELIEVEBLE ammounts for any medical service!: 1000 us$ daily for a bed in a medical center (average), 100000us$ medical fee for a heart surgery (only for the surgeon!), and so on!!! (british prices are 1/6 of these prices!), so it isnt affordable for usa to give free medical care to everyone

we might pay much more taxes than you do (about 40% of our salary) but what is left is to enjoy and when the day comes that we need to have an expensive treatment, we dont need to worry about the price. My mum had skin cancer twice, had 5 different treatments, 8 surgeries, rehabilitation sessions, etc.. and if she's alive today its because she could receive that help because it was all absolutely free.

Ask around and speak to elderly and terminally ill people and see what they go through. Talk to people overseas and see how there healthcare, education, etc. is done in their countries. We don't want to believe 1/2 of what Moore says but, unfortunately, a lot of it is true.

illusionistdave. Healthcare that is somewhat good in quality and free is better than healthcare that is outrageously expensive and broke. Healthcare is not "free." Higher taxes must be implemented, but better for the taxes to be re-invested back into the welfare of the citizens vice using it to bomb mud huts in Iraq.

I live in a country where our public health service is the largest employer in Europe, and yes public hospitals sometimes are less efficient than private ones, but the money doesn't go to shareholders! If you are sick, you should only have to worry about getting better, not about medical bills!

Moore makes me sick. I'll never forgive him for his twisted view he put on film portraying the US military as a bunch of heartless killers. He is a rich fat-cat who uses a huge amount of petroleum to spread his agenda in as much media products as he can get his hands on. Obesity and smoking kill more people than everything else combined.... We are the fattest country in the world. Since I work in healthcare, I can tell you that we would have a LOT MORE MONEY for other diseases if it wasn't for the rampant disease secondary to these issues. Our children are obese... and we are blaming drug companies about greed? Shame on us. As usual we have such an entitlement mentality. We subsidize Cuba's "cheap" healthcare... by inventing half the things they use.

Talk about "feel good" movies all you want, smoking subtracts 12-14 years of life AVERAGE per smoker according to the WHO and CDC. More patients that I see on a daily basis in the ICU are there for disease that were preventable than those that are there for disease that is not. If America wants to make healthcare more efficient, by all means go ahead, then we can get do even more dangerous things to ourselves and not worry about it. Keeps me in a job...

actually in most things where 2 or more ppl are opposed for a while they are often both at fault to some extent as most ppl slip up even a little at some point. just becuase that apprently happens in movies you watch doesnt make a difference to actual life. however it woul be scary to live without NHS and ave to pay for my hand to be normal again!

I agree with you on obesity and smoking. If people became more educated and took better care of themselves we could concentrate better on health issues that cannot be helped. However, there already is enough money to take care of everyone even with unnecessary problems like smoking.
