@lebbeus Yes, the ball hits the ground quickly just before it pops way up in the air. That is the advantage of this onside kick because the other team cannot call for a fair catch. Most players in youth or high school football would be scared straight to jump up and try to recover while seeing the kickoff team running right at them. Coach Jesse (the guy in the video) who is also a college kicker and student of Kicking World went 7 for 7 on attempted and converted onside kicks his frosh season!
@kickingworld This ball didn't touch the ground at all! I've slowed it down and there was no contact with the ground. He is kicking the ball at a low point so low that he kicks the tee as well. A fair catch would be allowed to be called here. Plus the ball is going further than the minimum 10 yards. Not that impressive. If he was this good, then you might have been able to find some game footage of a lot of recoveries. You guys are dishonest and horrible coaches.
@rushingfn dude if the ball didnt touch the ground he would have kicked it reguarally and it would have went farther. cause he goes all the way through with his kick
How do you get them so high?

so where do you exatcly hit the ball, and when kicking, are you aiming/hitting it directly down.
Also does the kicking tee matter?

So does the ball actually bounce off the ground quickly before going up or does it directly go up?

@rushingfn
Just look at the very first kick on the moist ground , you can see the dirt fly up from where the ball hits the ground ,

@rushingfn You clearly do not have good vision. This is one of the best onside kicks I have seen. Get a better monitor, and an eye exam!

I still get excited when I watch this video. How sick are his onside kicks?! If you want to learn how to do this, come to one of our camps : )

Great onside kick. Is that a Kickstart I see in the background? Great training device!
