  • Amazing, fantastic scottish march/song!!!!!

  • THE SCOTS LAND OWNERS WERE BRIBED WITH ENGLISH LAND AND GOLD,SO NO THE SCOTS PEOPLE WHICH IS THE MAJORITY DID NOT BEG FOR THE UNION,IT WAS THE LAIRDS GREED,NO DIFFRENT FROM TO DAY,BUT MOST OF THE LAND OWNERS ARE PART OF THE LORDS IN WESTMINSTER OR ARE IN PARLIMENT ..BUNCH OF GREEDY Bs

  • It was bribery and corruption that brought Scotland into the Union. Most burghs instructed their representatives to vote against the act but they were subborned by English gold at a time when Scotland was struggling economically. The reason for the Union was the threat by Scotland to choose their own monarch on the death of Queen Anne, and this was something the English could not or would not allow.

  • On a historical note, James the sixth of Scotland became James the 1st. of England in 1603, and the act of union did not come in until 1707, by which time he was long dead.

  • @palus666 For a start let me clarify i am Actually English Born in Coventry in the middle of England and have lived there all my life. So you have failed to make any kind of competent statement or insult. i am however one of those unique British citizens who realize as a unified country we are far greater than our individual parts. Although i believe England should also have a Devolved government instead of being ruled from the overall UK government just to be fair :)

  • Jesus to clarify It was James the VI of Scotland who Inherited the English throne that brought in the Act of Union So technically the Union is all a Scotsman's fault :) But hey Why change something that has worked so well for hundred's of years

  • Sombody throw the clapping sealions a fish and shut them up.

  • Comment removed

  • @andrygr62 actually scotland did beg england for the union as following the failure of the Darien scheme in 1698-99 scotland was bankrupt and needed the money, so i guess your right in the sense the english bought the union but its not like scotland didnt need it :)

  • the ones in green in the 2nd or third row in are irish pipers from 2nd batalion irish gaurds the others are the 78th frazer highlanders rros and scots gaurds

  • Shame about the clapping in the audience

  • Come to Canada while the doors are still open! Your money is worth more and our land is still affordable!

  • cheer for the p and ds. haha lol

  • stop clapping

  • Braveheart

  • from the days when Boudicca destroyed our London and Chester have made great strides:))).In fact, we will call Britishness.but We make no distinction between Scotland, Wales and England.but this year I visited Edinburgh, great city(a little cold :))and the taxi man got angry because I called English.is not a contradiction to pay homage to the same Queen but wanting to be independent?

    .

  • Who WOULDN'T LOVE THIS?

  • HOY!!!

  • God Almighty! Scotland did NOT beg for this bloody Union! England bought it off a bunch of corrupt English love peers! Check your history!

    Nice clip btw

  • @andygr62 Check yours old boy. At the time theScots were even trying to rename Scotland-North England. Read some SCOTTISH history books. Most academics are pretty sick of revisionist Scots trying to bury the truth and present themselves as a nation of cruelly repressed warrior poets. Didnt bloody happen.

  • @andygr62 um the union strenthened the economy of scotland,if you look into 17th century trade with england it was shocking the union gave scotland alt of oppotunities it would may of never recieved without political union,no one lost and no one was taken over,

  • @andygr62 OK, well England bought it off a bunch of corrupt English love peers... In 1707! Sealed your fate though, didn't it? Oh, thanks for the oil hehehe

  • i'm english and proud burt i love the pipes and drums, awesome sound.

  • je suis francais , et j envie votre culture .Par cette simple musique ,vous galvanisez toute une nation. je vous envie vraiement longue vie a l ecosse ^^

  • to die in honor goes like this :

feeling the wind blowing in your hair, standing up from the ground putting your sword out of the sleeve, feeling the adrenaline that goes from head to toe, just seconds before you feel the earthquake caused by 120000 feet running againts the enemy, hearing this song without any kind of fear and thinking something like : lets march proudly right to death motherfuckers!!!

  • when the scots start playing it sends shivers down the spine

  • @jamestoni Thought that was just me and my deep respect for the pipe and drums.

  • If only we could have a royal regiment of England which wears the English national dress and plays English music, probably wouldnt be as good as the scots at first but given time would make a nice competition.

  • @Shropshireladdie Do you (english) have a Nationl Dress....I think NOt.

  • @strathpipe

Well we do, but our Scottish government and monarchy dont let us wear it.

  • @Shropshireladdie For Gods Sake son a bowler hat just won't hack it.........LOL

  • @strathpipe

Saxons didnt wear bowler hats son, Normans did but their prats....

  • @Shropshireladdie Prats!? Normans...After 1066 The number of Normans in england was 1% ! did the brave saxons fight on? NO they rolled over and died like a bunch of girls.Come on kid you just don't have it and never will.

  • @strathpipe

It was more like 30% and of course they had the help of our lovable celtic neighbours who saw an oppurtunity to oppress us and they took it! Of course the Saxons fought on but in the interests of celto-norman oppression they were kept out of the history books. Obviously you forget that we put up about as much opposition to the Normans as you did and you lost too!.....Confused yet?

  • @Shropshireladdie Dear oh dear you can't just make up history and try and pass it as fact you people have been trying that for ever and still you are at it. Well Shropshireladdie(not the same ring as highland laddie)for sure.I'm still waiting for your description of the english nationl dress I believe that's what started this nonsense. This I'm sure will be interesting.

  • great! my scots brothers

  • Once again British Military bands stand out from the rest.

  • Spoilt by the moron clappers

  • Русская армия

  • omg crowd, stop clapping, you are ruining the awesome sound!!!

  • omg crowd, stop clapping, you are ruining the awesome sound!!

  • Love the way the first band gets politely clapped out of the arena then the place erupts when the pipe band starts!!

  • I LOVE THIS!

  • This is excellent.

  • in battles it was the scottish regiments who fought the hardest and bravest, the black watch got stuck into the enemy and kicked seven colours of shit out of them without their bravery and hard fighting skills we would not be where we are today

but still scotlands treated like second class citizens by westminster parties

  • weelll at least these second class citizens get free university and other stuff ..better health care .

scotlands got it better than people in north england..and britains a good country where we have no idea what it actually means to be treated like 'second class citizens' compared to some others. Anyways not being off with you :D i love scotland

  • @brianmca3 Who you kidding mate. Scottish people get free medicines that English people have to pay for. Whos the second class citizen now?

  • @PrestonNorthEndFan

As a scotsman I do think that is unfair, but meh you take what you can get.

  • @chimaira6668 I know mate anybody would it just gets on my nerves abit when the countries of the UK outside of England have this mentality that they are treated badly compared to English people.

  • @brianmca3

Yes with the torrys totally agree but Labour has always been good to us, as we are there main supporters and the librials well they have never been in power for the last 100 years...

  • Nothing in the world like the Scottish regiments on parade!

  • @veritascrusader

Yeah, the British army do know how to parade.

  • and btw its drum majors salute lol

  • Thanks for sharing!

And just one question for MrGrummpbugger....if Scotland begged for the Union, then why do the Scottish peerageds rank above all others of the Union? Seems to me if Scotland were they beggars, they wouldn't have gotten top billing.

  • Thanks for appreciating!

BTW, there's no such thing as a joint order of precedence for the UK.

However, Peers of England would outrank Peers of Scotland (both of creations predating 1707, i.e. before the Union) when of same rank, even if the Scottish Peer is of older creation... sorry! ;)

Scottish Peerages take precedence over those created after the Act of Union in the following order: Great Britain (1707-1801), Ireland (-1801), and the United Kingdom (1801-).

  • Thank you for the clarification...it seems my sources of information need to be rechecked....Cheers!

  • you're very welcome ;)

  • @Monarchist1952

lol, canadian from the colonies checking in here: this exchange was so civil it made me proud to be an english/irish/scot canadian

now lets all stick together to protect our culture from the fuzzy wuzzies

  • dose that take in the order of rank if james the first,s line had stood

  • @Monarchist1952 hello there could you give an identification of the regiments bands from left to right at 1.18 am i wrong or the avion blue on the far left are canadians? then? the thirs seems the Royal Irish and then or the black watch or the Scots Fusiliers with the Dragoons in the center as usual then...i'm lost! Thanks for your help

  • @pem1968

They werent the beggers by any means, nobody begged it was an agreement to share armed forces and resources, and nobody got the top billing either i dont know where you got that from.

  • i love this song

  • Was that a russian flag?

  • Anyone who didn't feel a surge of emotion as the Jocks burst forth with their bagpipes must have water in their veins!

    Great video, thanks.

  • @renard801 ...Oh Yes ! ..... all us Celts love this When our Scottish brothers play the pipes ! Soar Alba !! Cymru am byth !

  • dutchman living in France, I should be living in Scitland!

  • Marvelous, two of my favorite bagpipe tunes, "Scotland the Brave" & The Black Bear"! Thank you "Monarchist1952"...

  • fantastic marching, are these Brits?

  • most of the bands come from Scotland & the UK, while a few formations were German and one was Swiss

  • PS: I was referring only to the massed Pipes & Drums

  • @Monarchist1952

I thought I saw a Russian Fed flag carried by Goose Stepping marchers. Were these Russian?

  • yip the Moscow conservatory of music where there

  • yes, from Scotland!

  • bonny scotland

  • sparkybhoy - Your spelling is fucking wank as well - cant even spell cheap or fury properly. Fucking mug

  • super performence

  • I dont see your point? the taxpayer also bailed out nat west, northern rock, etc the bank of scotland is a multinational business its not a big castle in Edinburgh where we keep all our pennies!! Also I think it was the royal bank of scotland that needed bailed out.

  • "Scotland the brave" is indeed a glorious tune that never fails to fill me with pride as does the "black bear" as my dad served in the black watch. It will soud all the better though when it skirls out over a Scottish republic free of London and the vile anglo-gemanic-dutch-greek pretender bitch that you have pictured on your profile!

    Jocobites Unite !

    Scotland the brave

  • Im from the north of england, somtimes i do feel that north would be better odf with out a bunch of southerns running us,but how do you intend to go about survinign seeing as how it was british taxpayers who bailed out the bank of scotland

  • @sparkybhoy78 You disgusting scum! Show some gratitude, ingrate!

  • Eh ! Gratitude to whom and for what? How dare I express my opinion I truley must be scum! Disgusting scum at that. You sir, are a buffoon I wont be dragged into a battle of Wits with an unarmed man.

  • @sparkybhoy78 Well seems to me that you mistake ambition for ability as well as being an ingrate! Are you an experiment in artificial stupidity by any chance?

Nat West by the way IS RBS!!!!

  • You Still have not told me why I am an Ingrate? Who exactly should I be thanking and for what?

  • @sparkybhoy78 We the British taxpayer who have picked up the bill for your existence since you were born!

  • I am a british taxpayer you clown as were my parents and their parents before them.

  • Get real you poltroon. By the way, HM the Queen`s mother was a jock! You scots are less than 7% of the total population and with the whining Welsh, still less than 9% so most of the finance for people like you comes from English pockets. We get tired of you people, you filthy evil prime minister, you can have him back plus all the other socialist FRISPs that infest British politics!

  • Rite Im not so sure of your actuall views now, are you in favour of the union or not. have wee all to stand fast or should we "jocks, tafffs and paddys" f**ck off? Your are just a confused and bitter little man you no longer know what you want or who you are. You are listening to pipe music but dont like the Scotts you claim to be brittish but have swasticas on your page. You have my sympathys ignorance must be a terrible burden.

  • Stupid Boy. Withput the Union, Scotland will be bankrupt, like it was before, England will not notice anything if you born again jacibites get your way and why should they care? The fact is that most English have some Scots/Welsh ancestry so you nazis are well "out of order". I know exactly what I want, sad fact is, ingrates like you never stop whining! As for ignorance, well that seems like pot is calling to kettle old son! You silly buffoons are the bitter ones.

  • I notice your spelling is deserting you slightly. Is it the cheep lager or just blind furey thats causing it? perhaps if we left the uk we would take our oil fields with us or might that lead to you teaming up with ur us puppet masters to steal that all over again?

  • @sparkybhoy78 Seem ironic that you deride my spelling while yours is appalling, mine is poor qwerty but yours is just schoolboy howlers! Cheep? Furey?? What oil fields are Scottish? None that I see. British terrirtorial does not mean Scottish! It means exactly what it says silly child!

  • @MrGrumpybugger

That is like saying without slavery, the Union would be bankrupt. Is this the justification for the English foreigners to invade and annex Scotland and send off millions of Celtic people into indentured servitude on English estates in North America? To keep Scotland from Going Bankrupt. It is one thing to say that each nation of the Union has a contribution, but that arrogant attitude that Scotland would starve without the Anglos is pure bollocks!

  • Obviously you have not heard of Wilberforce, Billy Pitt or the man who wrote Amazing Grace.....John Newton! Soctland begged to become part of the Union because it was bankrupt, no dosh, bereft of moolah! Best you get it right sonny!

  • And WHY was Scotland bankrupted? Perhaps it was due to oppressive Anglo Landlords sonny. Much of the land was taken over be Anglo foreigners.

Read up on "T Felons" and then come back and tell me how we begged to be part of the Union.

  • 1707 old son, the Act of Union!!! And it was because of Scotland trying to colonise other countries, it overspent and ran out of dosh...Best you go and read about it in a place called a library!

  • @sparkybhoy78 I notice in your pompous jockenese pride you exxtol the jock regiments, which are now no more......born again jacobite Bliar disbanded those and that because 30% of the troops are Fijiian. Did you wear auniform like your dad and Grandad?? No I bet you didnt!

  • So what is it that you want? Im not the one with swasticas on my home page you disturbed little man. Without the Scots regiments you would have had no Empire and therfore no Fijians/gurkas/Indians etc in the forces to do the shite jobs and then be refused entry to the country they faught for.

As for wearing a uniform thankfully i have more sense than to be used as a pawn in the stealling of land for oil or in the service of the US neo-cons.

  • @sparkybhoy78 Ah yes, now I see it! A gobshite! The Jock regiments were and are a very significant part of the jigsaw, sad that the Scots dont think so, you can tell that by the fact they have to recruit South Africans and Fijiians to fill the gaps.

  • I would have thought that the north sea oil would belong to us as its in scottish waters but not to worry it wont happen. Where exactly are you from by the way I would guess it would be hard to see any oil fields from anywhere in England?

  • I live in Canterbury, half of my family are Colquhouns..I am English but raised on Scottish values and folklore! There are no Scottish waters, they are British! Just as the Royal Navy that prtects them is British and not Scottish!

  • Thanks for posting this nice clip. Just a small point, it's the drum majors who salute, not the pipe majors.

  • excellent video! Could you tell me the reason the pipe major and some of the drummersare wearing trews instead of kilts. Is it becauses they are from different Regiments?

  • yes.

  • yes ROYAL SCOTS 1ST of the line

  • Beautiful music and wonderful tradition. Thank you for sharing.

    An American from California.

  • Great!!!! Fantastic scotish music and tradition.

  • Oi, ain't that a Russian flag in the beginning? -.^ Or is it something else? Sorry I'm not that educated on the UK.

  • You can give an OI but the point is the russian flag dances off. Chiv.

    Scots march.

  • Its cos the Russians are a bunch of poncy little billy boys, aye?

  • Comment removed

  • I just love Scotish bagpipes!!

    Thanks for posting this.

    Cheers from Greece.

  • The Bagpipers were better than those before them

  • i assume you mean the cameronains rifles regiment not the clan cameron.

  • Scotland will rise again

  • Thaa's Black Bear ya daft c---ts!! ;-)

  • where was this taken place ?!

  • Basel Tattoo Switzerland fluckin awesome

  • @drummer0piper

Have you seen Top Secret (I'm sure you have). I am no band twinky, can barely play the radio myself, but those guys got my respect.

Now in battle, I dunno. The Swiss were never much for standing up for anything. But they do put on a good military show!

  • the thing about the top secret is as a visual act they are really good on the eyes as for musical ability pretty basic stuff well actually really basic stuff played really quite mediocre ask any side drummer and most will give you the same opinion though the dodgy outfits are pretty cool where can you get those feathers hahahahahaha

  • Okay, I am not only impressed I am f------ impressed.

    dd

  • LOL! I see the Irish over there try to claim the pipes and Celtic culture as their own as they do here in the states. Bands here even dare to wsear Scottish tartan kilts instead of the only true Irish kilt - saffron. Show me an Irish pipe band anywhere who can play with a highland regiment pipe band.

    Posers:)

  • Astonishing that a Scot like this moron "ravingjunkey" would comment like he has. I was about to apologize to my Brit/Scottish cousins on his behalf if he was American. Hope you realize how lucky you are - assuming old Gordon doesn't make a bollocks out of your lads like Obama is thinking of doing to ours.

Listening to Scotland the Brave and Black Bear never ceases to bring tears to my eyes being of highland blood.

    Thank you for these videos!

  • Awesome drums and march.

  • ravingjunkey your names says it all...

Britain ruled 1/4 of the world not half

It did not invent the slave trade but was a big slave trader I admit .

As for the uniform being of that era???

When do you think Britains empire was at its peak?most would argue 1850-1930

Britain got rid of slave trade in 1807,total slavery by 1833.

Most British Army No1 Uniforms date from mid to late 1800s,Crimean war period is most common.

  • nothing wrong with the irish..God's truely chosen people

  • That was so cool, loved it.

  • Ravingjunky you are a twisted retarded wee prick and you continue to contradict yourself in about everything you post, go and cook up another tenner bag and you might make some fuckin sense ya knob

  • agreed.

  • Have you heard yourself speak? What a typical fucking moron. The power has gone to your head. Scotland does not care about being powerful, we're the toughest men in the World, we don't need a fucking Queen to back that up.

People like you sicken me, and my guess is you're a Weegie!

  • The German troops in WW2 called the Scottish troops "The Devils in Skirts". The majority of US Medal of Honor recipients are of Scottish heritage and from the south.

  • Would all these Irish people piss off please. Your men are shit at the pipes, and the pipes and the kilt are Scotland's culture, not Ireland, American or Canada's.

Independence for 2010 = VOTE SNP

  • you truly are a wanker mate

  • Get your facts right needle dick, the only pipe you have ever blown lad, jumped out of a pair of boxers you ignorant twat.

    Gearoid Defoaite Saoránach D'Éirinn

  • Irish Pipers in there as well

  • Truly outstanding; love the pipes! Scotland Forever! Semper Fi! :)

  • Realmente extraordinario,fastastico video,te felicito.

  • very good

  • The British have a good reputation for miltary bands, but you must admit the pipes and drums when they play the "Black bear and Scotland the brave" are the best.

  • I really did enjoy that video. Thank you. It doesn't get better than "Scotland the Brave"

  • thanks you for the video very nice

  • Preceded of course by the Black Bear:) Love it all!

  • A couple of my favorites!

    Nice Clip!

    Ah rah Best!
