I hated pulling out with my topaz..... it had the 2.3 I4 and that motor was SLOW! I mean it put the "S" in slow! I had to shift it manually because where I work I have to get to 65mph and there is no on ramp just a SHORT speed up lane........

Damn! I didn't know Tempo's were that fast. The Tempo was the number 1 selling car in America for a while. I'm sure they are stronger than a lot of cars today. Glad to hear you beat some ricers. I hate Honda. I rather have a tempo any day than a gay Honda.

its got a good engine sound. i remember taking a stock one up to 115mph. the speedo goes to 85 XD had to use another car to tell me how fast. it hauls ass considering lol

inline 4, the high performance model. it came with 2 extra HP and 5 more ft/lbs torque. But with mods, i'd say it was around 110 crank HP rather than 100, and 135-140 torque rather than 130

i did when i first got it, but i replaced the gasket and havent had a problem since... i no longer have the car though.

i think it is an excellent tempo.i have a 1993 ford tempo that needs work but when i turn 16 im going to get it and i have 8000 dollars saved up to fix it up and make it sound and run like yours. thanks for the inspiration that my tempo can have as well

I had someone follow me in another car. My speedo only goes upto 85 also. I found that 5500 RPM is 122 mph :)
