I have one of these and aside from the obvious head turners and people asking a bunch of random questions to you, its just a card at the end of the day. My credit isn't great at all, but since I own a business, the invite was sent to me under the business name. Secondly, it's a ripoff. They charge YOU huge fee's to charge, and then you pay fee's on top of that. I don't see this card being around much longer. Who cares about a "personal shopper" or anything like that these days?

I make $20K/month so paying it off in small chunks is more beneficial plus the APR is like nothing. I still have 1M to invest or play with!

I see this card being very useful for businesses. It shouldn't be a card used for personal use but business use. Businesses spend way more money than individuals which is why it makes more sense to use it for business related activities. That is what I will be using it for once I get one. I think so many people are so wasteful with the amount of wealth they have. For instance, Jeff Bezos, CEO of Amazon spent millions if not billions on a rocket stationed next to his house. How wasteful.
I was offered this card buy prefer to use my AMEX Blue Cash card because I get cash back with that. So I turned them down on the Centurian card. It just doesn't make sense.
My dad does have this card. There's a lot of benefits, but unless you really travel, and spend a lot, you won't see too much of a difference from the platinum. ITs basically the power to have a "black" card which is a wealth status. You also need to purchase business class tickets, in order to be upgraded to first. Its a great card though :)

LIke i said earlier my dad has one of these and you DONT get free hotels/dinners etc. It basically uses the same POint system as as the platinum cards, just a tad different. You can spend points for rewards Eg. Coffee machines etc, However we do also receive a Centurion BLack Magazine to my house every few months which is basically a catalogue showing New cars you can buy hotel places.. etc Like i said VERY similar to platinum. just a more elite" card if you like

I've had two of these at the store where I work in the last year and everyone who has it drove normal cars....in this case one had a new Ford F-150 and the other a new Honda Pilot. I think most people who have this card travel and spend a lot for their job (later get reinbursed) and they spend 250k or more per year easily like this. One guy who had it told me that is how he meet the requirement and he has never made more than 120k/yr in his life.

First of all, it's a charge card and not a credit card. This means you must pay off the full balance every month. It is not invite-only. You can simply call AMEX and request to have your account reviewed. If you have charged 250K and have good credit, you will generally be approved on the spot, and the card will be sent to you. The thickness isn't an issue at swipers. It only occasionally becomes a problem with machines where you must insert the card.
I have the Amex Platinum Card and it's great because of the free companion tickets I get when I buy domestic and international tickets through PTS. What are the additional benefits of the Centurion Card aside from mere social status?

I work at costco and I've seen about 4 black cards. Yeah its really heavy for a card. Its made of metal. Can't fake it. Oh yeah the first one i seen got declined when it came to my line at 8pm at night. She had to call in and get it approved.
Spend close to 150k in 12-14mo and be willing to pay the 7500 in initial fees, and AMEX will send you one in a nice black box.
This card is for people with more money than sense, as many other cards do pretty much everything this card will do with no annual fees or upfront costs. But..they won't look as cool as Centurion card, made out of Titanium.
You're right the Black card has no pre-set spending limit because its a Charge card not a revolve Credit Card. YOu have to pay the balance in full before your due date. However the limit is based on your spend pattern and showing the abilty to repay the balance back in full without falling over due.
And the annual fee will always change on the Centurion card.
I've seen Black cards with a very little spending empowerment.
I have one for my Mortgage business. I charge almost $300,000 a year but fortunately, we pay it off with profits.
The only reason you should get this is for CEO travel because you get special access to concierge and airport services. You can wrack up serious frequent flier mileage.
I gained over 900,000 miles last year alone from Asia travels.
Frankly, if you have a debit card with alot in the bank you could do the same thing without being forced into minimum spending amounts.
Its the worst credit card ever! not unlimeted credit as they claim... customer service is shitty in both platinium and black... imagine how bad is the gold and green?
the most exclusive card is the "white card" from visa, turns out some high rollers weren't impressed with the black card, they needed something more sophisticated it's called the "stratus".

@SickAudi you have no idea.. LIke i said earlier my dad has one of these and you DONT get free hotels/dinners etc. It basically uses the same POint system as as the platinum cards, just a tad different. You can spend points for rewards Eg. Coffee machines etc, However we do also receive a Centurion BLack Magazine to my house every few months which is basically a catalogue showing New cars you can buy hotel places.. etc Like i said VERY similar to platinum. just a more elite" card if you like

I've had two of these at the store where I work in the last year and everyone who has it drove normal cars....in this case one had a new Ford F-150 and the other a new Honda Pilot. I think most people who have this card travel and spend a lot for their job (later get reinbursed) and they spend 250k or more per year easily like this. One guy who had it told me that is how he meet the requirement and he has never made more than 120k/yr in his life.

First of all, it's a charge card and not a credit card. This means you must pay off the full balance every month. It is not invite-only. You can simply call AMEX and request to have your account reviewed. If you have charged 250K and have good credit, you will generally be approved on the spot, and the card will be sent to you. The thickness isn't an issue at swipers. It only occasionally becomes a problem with machines where you must insert the card.

holy frick. the titanium part of this card pissed me off. i was at LAX i dont know who some rich bastard passed through security and actually got stopped constantly. he was in front of me. it took like 3 times for that retard to realize his damn credit card was causing the hold up. how crazy is that. this crap is made of metal and causes issues at security checkpoints. im not gonna lie i was mad jelous he had one of those and i was flying in a Jetblue plane.

A guy I once worked with had one, we got back from a trip abroad and he got it out at the airport to pay for some drinks at a cafe/bar and gave me the spiel about how special it was before we got to the counter to pay - They didn't take amex so he ended up paying cash. Made me laugh.

I work at costco and I've seen about 4 black cards. Yeah its really heavy for a card. Its made of metal. Can't fake it. Oh yeah the first one i seen got declined when it came to my line at 8pm at night. She had to call in and get it approved.

Spend close to 150k in 12-14mo and be willing to pay the 7500 in initial fees, and AMEX will send you one in a nice black box.
This card is for people with more money than sense, as many other cards do pretty much everything this card will do with no annual fees or upfront costs. But..they won't look as cool as Centurion card, made out of Titanium.

You're right the Black card has no pre-set spending limit because its a Charge card not a revolve Credit Card. YOu have to pay the balance in full before your due date. However the limit is based on your spend pattern and showing the abilty to repay the balance back in full without falling over due.
And the annual fee will always change on the Centurion card.
I've seen Black cards with a very little spending empowerment.

I have one for my Mortgage business. I charge almost $300,000 a year but fortunately, we pay it off with profits.
The only reason you should get this is for CEO travel because you get special access to concierge and airport services. You can wrack up serious frequent flier mileage.
I gained over 900,000 miles last year alone from Asia travels.
Frankly, if you have a debit card with alot in the bank you could do the same thing without being forced into minimum spending amounts.
