I am going to have to do this real soon :P. If you used something other than a bread board don't you think you may get better performance? Les capacitance and inductance in the places you dont want it. I need to upgrade away from breadboards too though.
the breadboard is irrelevant in this design as it is just holding the interrupter/audio input. the bridge/feedback/and logic switching chips are all soldered onto a pcb as can be seen in the video.
omg so cool, i want to make one, im omw to the other parts of the internet to learn now!!! hopefully, i will try my best !!!! thank you for the video man, and thank you Mr Nikola Tesla!
according to one site i read the sound quality is better than that of a speaker because it uses temperature variations of the air to create the sound so there is no inertia to cause problems, you've just got to get rid of the hiss or buzz by making the TCs resonant frequency several MHz so that it isn't heard.
Yes correct pmdvy, the only thing is it is much harder to operate in the MHz range because of extreme wear on the components and the massive amount of heat created.
this thing works the same as an AM transmitter. The output power is varied to the audio waveform and so this could produce voice as well. it is not a midi device it is amplitude modulated audio.
whoa, the most cool song and movie on this planet haha :P
amazing, this is the most ''analog'' soundmodule ever made hahah love you man! I want this for my music, its sure! (i know i know analog is note the right word for the realité)
CAN SOMEONE PLEASE tell me where i can find instructions to build one. I want to make one for a science fair.

Even through the sizzle, this sounds suspiciously like a .AMP or .AMS file I had on my 800XL

google this and look for the 4MHz or high frequency tesla coil: hfsstc. googleing high frequency tesla coil should also work.
that describes a 4MHz tesla coil and it even gives some info on audio modulation!!!

So, query: is it being used as a PC-Speaker-like pulse-attenuated PCM driver, or is it being used as a midi-like device?

Yeah!
Awesome song on that too.
And that's a pretty fair qualiyty sound.
