Huh? "Very under-rated"? Pardon? This is 3rd rate karaoke that YOU could do, I could do, your neighbour could do, etc. Fancy them, by all means, but don't make out they have a "talent", as talking and karaoke singing is NOT "talent". Saints preserve us!
These 80s girl groups are way more entertaining than the prima donnas en vogue these days. Whatever the other merits of the Belle Stars, Bananna Ramma, the Bangles, ect... they were way more fun than Britiany Spears & co.
they were called the bodysnatchers then singer and lesley arrived after two were sacked, they called them selves the belle stars, still touring, i loved the bassist.
its because of this song i carnt stop fucking humming it when im busy doing whatever , ffs why did i watch it again , clap clap clap clap my mama told me if was goody that she would buy me a rubber jhonny
This has got to be the ultimate bingo-class contribution to pop music.I remember working with a lot of rejects from a biscuit factory who used to prance around to this in a severe drunken state.
I didn't half fancy the singer in the middle wearing the hat back in 1982 ......I still do now !! Anyone know what her name is or what happened to her ?
@louiseme If you mean the gal with the black hat that's Miranda Joyce. She went on to become a world class make up artist. Still is to this day as far as I know.
I didn't actually know their names but really liked their songs.I was only 12 back then.Early 80's was my era in music,my growing up music.Ahh those memories!
Im desperatly trying to think of something good to say about this rendition of this great song....but i just cant think of anything LOL , the origional is FAR FAR FAR superior
Thank you for adding and sharing! I enjoyed looking at this. I remember the theme song and others do too. It brings back fond memories. I added this to my favorites.

When I was at school it was considered hilarious to sing: 'That she would buy me a rubber Johnny'. Those were the days.

Miranda , she was with the Bodysnatchers , before the Belle Stars I think she is a Make up Artist now , fancied her myself back then ,

have to agree... Miranda was very fanciable. And she has a very definitive 80s look.
This was the only song she stood at the front for
Shame she quit music very quickly after the Belle stars stopped having hits unlike some of the rest.

Miranda Joyce is a self taught make up artist and has been working in the fashion industry since the break up of the Belle Stars.
This song is acutaully a cover version of a 1965 hit by Shirley ellis!

Well I liked that version a lot better than some of the others, but the original by Shirley Ellis is still the best by far!

In those days, bands had to do their own choreography! I think they clapped a bit on the Xmas TOTP special!
