  • Huh? "Very under-rated"? Pardon? This is 3rd rate karaoke that YOU could do, I could do, your neighbour could do, etc. Fancy them, by all means, but don't make out they have a "talent", as talking and karaoke singing is NOT "talent". Saints preserve us!

  • When I was at school it was considered hilarious to sing: 'That she would buy me a rubber Johnny'. Those were the days.

  • Miranda , she was with the Bodysnatchers , before the Belle Stars I think she is a Make up Artist now , fancied her myself back then ,

  • have to agree... Miranda was very fanciable. And she has a very definitive 80s look.

This was the only song she stood at the front for

Shame she quit music very quickly after the Belle stars stopped having hits unlike some of the rest.

  • These 80s girl groups are way more entertaining than the prima donnas en vogue these days. Whatever the other merits of the Belle Stars, Bananna Ramma, the Bangles, ect... they were way more fun than Britiany Spears & co.

  • Wow, people back then had no taste in clothes, choreography or music videos....

  • it means steve wright is a stupid plonker.

  • Miranda Joyce is a self taught make up artist and has been working in the fashion industry since the break up of the Belle Stars.

This song is acutaully a cover version of a 1965 hit by Shirley ellis!

  • they were called the bodysnatchers then singer and lesley arrived after two were sacked, they called them selves the belle stars, still touring, i loved the bassist.

  • this is much better than their official video for the song

  • Didn't The Belle Stars used to be called The Body Snatchers who sang Rock Steady?

  • Yes!

  • @ColumRogers Yes they did.

  • @ColumRogers some of the members were in the Bodysnatchers

  • Her name was 'Frying Pan'

  • its because of this song i carnt stop fucking humming it when im busy doing whatever , ffs why did i watch it again , clap clap clap clap my mama told me if was goody that she would buy me a rubber jhonny

  • Yes. Miranda is really gorgeous.

  • love lesley on bass

  • wow this takes me back! miranda was so lovely.... i had a bit of a crush on her back in the day.

  • I would giggity giggity goo all of them

  • This has got to be the ultimate bingo-class contribution to pop music.I remember working with a lot of rejects from a biscuit factory who used to prance around to this in a severe drunken state.

    Not very happy memories.

  • I didn't half fancy the singer in the middle wearing the hat back in 1982 ......I still do now !! Anyone know what her name is or what happened to her ?

  • Miranda Joyce, she played the saxophone, that's the dark haired one

  • Ooh, yeah. Me too. Even though I was 8 then...

    ;-)

  • @louiseme Her name is Miranda Joyce and she is now a make up artist. I still fancy her too

  • @louiseme her name is Miranda Joyce and she is now a make up artist, i still fancy her too

  • Comment removed

  • @louiseme If you mean the gal with the black hat that's Miranda Joyce. She went on to become a world class make up artist. Still is to this day as far as I know.

  • Well I liked that version a lot better than some of the others, but the original by Shirley Ellis is still the best by far!

  • I like the one with the hat

  • me nd me m8 where baked listening to this cause he thought it was amazing, im not gonna be able to listen to this song in the same way agan xD

  • Just watched this sequence on Dave over Freeview... annoying they didn't have a camera covering the bassist..

Is there a slapped line going on?

  • I love Belle Stars, but my God there was one thousand girls in group...

  • Love Jenny she is the best she was so cool, you dont see enough of her these days.

  • she had a long standing drug problem and ended up in a hostel.

  • clap clap

  • This is great... loved the Belles since the Body Snatchers. What ever happened to Rhoda? I'm looking at my 7" single for The Boiler right now!

    thanks again!

  • I didn't actually know their names but really liked their songs.I was only 12 back then.Early 80's was my era in music,my growing up music.Ahh those memories!

  • Bring back the Belle Stars. They were fantastic. I have a Live video of theirs somewhere. Brings back great memories of the 80's...

  • Yeah, they're all pretty cool but Jennie is the coolest, in my opinion.

  • ooooh I used to love the Belle Stars sooo much, I wanted to be Miranda when I was a little girl

  • I LOVE MIRANADA ! ! ! (girl in hat)

  • Me too.

  • ME THREE!!!! :))))

  • enjoy, wow, when we were young and beautiful...stevenplato

my auntie told, I kissed a soldier...

  • Thank you for adding and sharing! I enjoyed looking at this. I remember the theme song and others do too. It brings back fond memories. I added this to my favorites.

  • I always thought they could have had a better routine to ths song where they actually clapped!

  • In those days, bands had to do their own choreography! I think they clapped a bit on the Xmas TOTP special!
