Infurated, he is now using drastic measures to re-focus the Ley lines to the Nexus. However, this is causeing huge instabilities, and threatens to Blow Azeroth to Kindom Come if he isn't stopped. Hence the war with Alex

The difference is whether the magic is conjured or invoked/divined. Nature spells could probably be cast by Alexstrazsa, being an aspect of Life, but true invoked power such as Holy Light or Rejuvination are not really magic and are channeled directly from the divine to the diviner.
