  • Cool

  • Not to long ago, a C-130K was doing a training exercise around where i live, you could hear a faint humming from the engines, but you couldn't see it, needless to say, it scared a few people, expecting the shots of a 20mm cannon =P

  • I Fucking Love this Aircraft! Love the sound of the T-56 Engines (Correct me if I'm wrong) too...

  • Yes its definately a workhorse, the backbone of the cargo world. It can carry just about anything that fits in the aircraft.

  • @coug741 Gday yes it is true that can fit in one aircraft, while my dad was in RAAF and have seen one of F111 (without wings) that fit in C-130 and thought that F111 cant fit in as we were wrong, it took F111 to get in C-130 appox 2-4 hours with cautions etc, Omg love to hear that sound i never forget to hear that noise when i was inflight C-130 but hate slow flight etc

  • @coug741 is it a nice soft ride quiet?

  • Man thats one of the best planes to ever fly.And from what i hear one work horse that will carry anything that will fit in its cargo bay?

  • wow very little take off time. Ours was about 5 times longer than that.

  • Don't recall any stewies last time, just some loadie with a thermos :) memories!!

  • god i love that plane!

  • awsome propwash so cool

  • Its just prop vortexes because the presure differential is making the air cool down and meet the dew point temp causing the vortexes to become visible. there are on any propeller.

  • i didnt see any propwash... just a bunch of humidity and vortexes....

  • awesome i would love to ride one of those

  • I am in Civil Air Patrol and its a great experience we go up in these things as like a field trip off of classes lol. I'm studying aerospace to be an engineer in the airforce when I get out of college and I got to ride in one of these for the first time last night. :) It is a great experience and its not as bad as you would think, but it is very loud you can't even guess how loud these things are. The propellers are deafening when you step outside and they are spinning.

  • Yea i got done doing that today at the AFB. We were entering the back of the plane as the engines were on and we got all the prop wash on us, exhaust fumes, pollin, dirt and what not on us.

  • @bmbheat24, Gday Congrats for your first ride, Yes it very loud to hear these propellers (we have to wear ear muff or headset to avoid damage hearing) it excatly deafening after you get off the C-130

  • @Dexter225588 Thanks, we wore ear plugs but mine fell out half way through the ride lol.

  • the humidity in the air condenses pressure compensation

  • its actually the humidity forming on the propellers and then falling off, like high-speed rain. it was probably getting ready to rain/or just rained/or foggy earlier.

  • I was 9 yrs old when i went on a c130, travelled from khasab to muscat (oman) a truly great experience. They must be safe aircraft, i dont think i have ever heared of one crash??

  • Search on youtube for "c130 crash" and you will find some ;)
