i'm so glad you said something about how rough the nurse was being! i get so mad when i see these nurses acting like the baby is an animal or a piece of meat! i'm about to give birth myself and i'm scared of what will happen if i see them treat my baby like this!
believe it or not, babies are alot tougher than they look, and i'd rather have her being handled like that then hung upside down by one foot while the doctor smacks her tiny little fanny.
we thought about other birth options, but frankly, i'd rather have the hospital staff there in case of any problems, and i'd rather have someone else clean up too.
the miracle of birth isn't a tidy miracle, and many things can go wrong.
i thank god we had such a wonderful hospital staff to help us out.
i was going to block this comment due to it's obvious immaturity, but i noticed you're only 15, so i'll allow it and point out, since you are a girl and will hopefully be a mature woman someday; you'll be on that table showing alot more than your boobies, girl.
the funny thing is, no one really cares about your boobies, or anything else, at that moment: all attention is on that little miracle of life, not your crotch, and certainly not your boobies.
we have shown this video to our daughter, she's too quickly approaching 3, and you shoud see the way she looks at me when I stroke her cheek while she watches me doing the same thing to her on the video...
talk about weak in the knees...
she is such a joy, wouldn't trade her for the world.
i have more videos i want to post when i have the time, and we have another on the way, so i'll have some catching up to do!
thanks for your comment, it made us smile. especially me; dad. :)
the poor baby was so nervous she even went to the toilet oh my god, and why was she left on a table for so long instead of being in her moms arms? i know u can be so wrecked after birth but when u hold your baby the memories vanish!!!
most babies have a bowel movement either right before or right after birth. if it happens before birth, it can cause problems, as even tiny little humans can produce waste that can cause serious problems if inhaled or ingested.
it might seem like an eternity before kaylei was in the arms of her mother, but it really wasn't that long, and the nurses were doing their best to hurry thru the preliminary examinations before they put a possibly unhealthy baby into mom's arms.
i know about meconium, my daughter went to the toilet in the womb and when my waters broke it was dark, they knew she was in distress, her heart stopped cos the contractions were too strong for her, and was born by vacuum to get her out as quick as poss, once she was out, they gave her oxygen and checked her but i was so tired from the birth i didnt feel ready but after about 10minutes they gave her to me. it didnt feel long when i was in the situation, but it seemed long for them from here.
Another reason the nurse might be a bit rough is to take the place of spanking... Back when they used to spank newborns to get them to cry, I wonder how hard it was? (sure not that hard)... ?
you're lil girl is sooo precious! i miss having a baby around. my boys are 3 and 4. cherish the "baby time" cause it won't last long at all. and yeah the nurse looked rough but she was trying to get baby to cry and help get blood flowing to her arms and legs and such. babies aren't as fragile as we all think. Blessings to you all!!
I know from my own experience, nurses in the birthing room appear to be rough with the babies, but it is to get the babies to cry and clear out their lungs, anyone that's read a pregnacy/birthing book will know that!! I AM SOO JELOUS! I only got to hold my baby for a minute before they took her, I didn't even get to breastfeed like I wanted because I had to have a Csection. But mine was 14 months (to the day) ago!! SHE IS SO beautiful!

I don't think that comment was hateful. I mean, retarded and/or ignorant yeah, but it kind of lacked the energy of actual hatred...
Cute kid you gpt there by the way :)

why do babies cry so much when their born??
Flyffiris 3 years ago
At any hospital, can you have it so the doctors don't take the baby away right after birth, and they do all the tests in the room?

The damn stupid moron nurse WAS ROUGH with your baby,
and I am glad someone mentioned it while it was being
done and recorded. I would have asked her to keep away
from my baby and get someone else. There was no reason
to shake the baby while drying her off! Stupid idiot nurse!!

How scary it must be for a new baby in this big world. I like at the end though where she gets warmed and comforted by mommy. :)
