Also didn't think there was too much difference in feel between the two. Although I may to have been middling both of them consistently enough. Keep up the good videos Mark
Hi, tried both today with dynamic gold s300 shafts. Loved both of them but would go with the AP2's as I hit them further. I know it's not all about length, but titleist for me.
No question that the Mizuno MP-53 is a better looking club. I've played with a set of MP-53 for about 8 months. Something about the Mizuno forging that makes them feel better. They are the best club I've ever tried.
I just ordered a set of MP53's with KBS C Taper shafts. I demoed about every "player iron" out there and the 53's were the softest and most forgiving of the bunch in my opinion.
Hey Mark, love your videos they are all incredibly informative. If you are able to incooperate the protracer/shot-tracker technology with your videos, I would bet your videos will receive more views than you can handle.
mark im 13 and off 8 currently i use mizuno mx100 irons at the moment ive tried the 53's and got the exact same launch and spin and 7 yards more distance on average coz they were lighter than the mx 100s would you say the ap2s are a different sort of launch thx RSVP
@chrisredwood69 you will have no probs with the mp53's whatsoever. I'm a 17 handicap and not the best ball stricker but I can hit these as well as any club I have tried. When hit well there is nothing like them. Like you I was unsure weather to change my r9's for these but after a fitting with mark and a few rounds my iron play and dispersion is improving dramatically.... Awesome clubs. Oh and mark is a top man as well!!
I agree that the MP53 has a slightly softer feel. The shorter head of the AP2 makes the topline look a little bigger. I have the MP59, it produces a lower flight than either of these which helps my game.
I'm a 20 handicap and a long time Mizuno player, and I love the 53s - a beautiful club, and easy to hit (I'm not a long hitter, but I like the feel and the control of the strike, even those off-center strikes).
My coach said that the 53s would make me a better player, but not because it would mask my problems, but rather because I would improve my ball-striking.
thanks mark this is the review ive been waiting for. ive just been fitted for both of these and went for the mp53 im a 20 handicap but i decent ballstriker and i found the 53's no problem to hit at all! the slightly longer head just made them feel more forgiving than the ap2! and its all about what fills your head with the most confidence!
