    MC.

  • Hello, fr33atesickz! Sometimes one's just got to play the backing role in the rhythm section. 8-)

  • jo pekny si!!!!

  • good Mr Scott you are " toujours " the best one on youtube .bravo

  • Right on Diesel.

    5+

  • This sounds so good! I want to hear it all the time - the sounds feel as though they come from within me - as though I've been waiting to hear them forever.

  • Hi arawajo! Sounds like you need to Subscribe to my Channel and Favorite this video. LOL & 8-)

  • Diesel Bodine, you are quite the accomplished musician. Could you please elaborate as to where you studied music and with whom you have studied with? Thank you...

  • Thanks Aeuros. I am primarily self taught, but I did take some lessons and even went to college briefly majoring in music. Hitchhiking as a young man 20 miles one-way to college nipped that in the bud unfortunately after a couple semesters, plus I moved out-of-state. Thanks for visiting! 8-)

  • Hmmm Must have let this one pass me by. Great Vid and driving solos/arrangment 5*.

  • Thanks Andy! Gee, I got off of work today! I'm working on some Xmas music for those who like that kind of stuff. How ya' been man? I hope you make something new soon. 8-)

  • I am working on a new arrangement of the Richie Cole tune 'New York Afternoon'. This is for the Cole fans who have been sending me hate mail. I've also composed a new 3/4 tune whilst I was on holiday in Tunisia. There also a new Bodinism video with John Fox and others that needs completing.

  • 2. The trouble is Im always busy around this time so it will probably be the new year before I get organised. Anyway Happy Christmas or Pagan festival - depending on your point of view.

  • 5* This vid was wicked , I loved the music the graphics were awesome. I went to Egypt in 2000 on a cruise with my younger son he was 4 years old at the time. The Squaddies warned me it is a £5 to go up on the camel & £20 to let you down again LOL . Lindamac xx

  • Hi Linda! Sounds like quite the gimmick for taking advantage of tourists. I hope you enjoyed yourself there! 8-)

  • Scot was glad to get back home it was truly one of the 7th wonders of the world the 8th was surviving the gruelling trip LOL made me appreciate what I have in life. xxxxx

  • we greatly admire your stuff!

    "The Inverted Goates"

  • great again, just subscribed, look forward to more of your music, i bet you got some really great original comps, would love to hear some. Even just some random noodling would be awesome seeing as you have such an obvious understanding of that fretboard,

    cheers man

  • 20MOJO20... Thanks! Oh, I'll have more new music and everything else I do coming along as time permits. Thanks for subbing and checking out my stuff! 8-)

  • Just great - love it! Thanks for posting.

  • Thank you very much, Vrzwta! 8-)

  • Excellence! Your understanding of music has me in awe, Good Sir!

  • Thanks again Ed! I've spent most my life poking around within the musical realm one way or another. It's a great joy to be able to share what I do with those that are interested.

  • Smooth

  • Thanks for stoppin' by, Robbie! 8-)

  • You are musically gifted no doubt! I'm just patiently waiting for you to one-up me on the ol' banjo :-)

  • Hey! Truman, you most definitely got me beat on that Banjo! Hands down, without any doubt. 8-)

  • I'm gonna have to report you to the gestapo, Diesel. I think life is too good and you are having more fun than the law allows.

    Oscar the Grouch.

I plaly this on my 5-string.

  • Hello Jeffry the Grouch! Please, don't report me to the Gestapo! I won't make any more videos. I promise!

  • It's too late. I done already reported you so you may as well post as many as you can before you hear the knock at the door.

  • Ah great. Your vids always manage to cheer me up, Scott.

  • Thanks Pino! I'm sure glad to hear that! 8-)

  • You are one talented dude~~!!

  • Thanks a bunch, Rhonda! Gee, I have off from work today. You know what that means? I get to finish my newest video! What else? LOL & 8-)

  • Oh good. I am glad you are having a break. Don't drink too much Starbucks and stay up all night again. Remember you have to go to work tomorrow.

  • Rhonda... work has been petering out... I hope I get to work tomorrow. I haven't worked since last Wednesday, I think... bunkum & balderdash!

  • Diesel, oh boy. How bout making a CD now. Then you can sell it.

  • Quick update on the great Bodine:

    #31 - Top Rated (Today) - Howto & DIY

    #26 - Most Discussed (Today) - Howto & DIY

    Dhaff...over but not out!

  • Phhht, Brother D.! You're funny! Hey, I'm working on another new one... what else? Thanks for your notification. The "great Bodine," a legend in his own mind! What a small mind it is. LOL & 8-)

  • Related to this video appear "Autumn Leaves" that i heard maybe 40 minutesa go for the first time! How come coincidences like this happen? AMAZING!

But actually, lol, i loved your video as usual! You look so serious!

  • I am serious, Felix... I am serious. LOL! Yeehaw! 8-)

  • Hi Scott, I like the oriental theme of this song very much. Enjoyed your interpretation and video.

  • Hi Frank. I usually don't get too crazy with my interpretations of tunes, say like an Esquivel would get, but maybe in the future sometime I'll do something a little more wild with a tune. Thanks for the visit! 8-)

  • Oh man that was amazing!

  • Thanks Robbie. I'm glad you liked it! 8-)

  • Hey Scott, really creative this with great sense of humor,(the serious rythm guitarist) That was a Coral guitar Right? Heard Pat Metheney perform with it,it has a very citar-like sound fits in great here in the solo-section.Man you gave this Tune a Bodine-Vitalize injection and now it's living a life of it's own, a great Vid,you put in alot of time but you had great fun doing this, very good own interpretation Scott,Greets Victor.

  • Thanks Vic. That's just a remake Danelectro Guitar a friend of mine gave me a while ago. He had loaned me his Coral Electric Sitar, too, which I had used on the "Palak Paneer" music/video. Yeah, it took a while to do the arrangement/video, but it was fun, too. 8-)

  • Thanks for sharing Scott, I'd have missed this otherwise and it was 'all reet, nay grand' !

    Mike from Lancashire

  • Hi Mike! I hadn't seen you around in a while, but it's good to hear from ya'! How's everything going?

  • I'm ok, thanks for asking. Not had the creative impulse for a while and not been spending much time on YouTube unless people share videos with me, like yours !!

    Cheers,

    Mike

  • Hooray!

  • Hurrah! Hi Amy! Multiple 8-) to you.

  • a smile Scott!your'e anxious ...no! your music was good man ....one more.

  • Hi Pascal... oh, I didn't want to smile. I thought a blank stare would be kind of cool for this video. 8-)

  • I am NEVER disappointed in anything you do Scott!! Great production man, like that shirt and guitar at the 2:24 mark!! 5 biggy stars!!

  • Thanks Brother D! I'm glad you and most of my Subscribers like what I do here on the Tube. The people I know in real life couldn't care less. A friend was by this morning. I wanted to show him my videos and he wasn't interested in seeing them. I showed him a few anyway and he wasn't interested. Screw my real life friends. I'll share my stuff with those that enjoy it. 8-)

  • dont feel bad Bodine,i cant even get my brothers and relatives to watch me on youtube,F er screw em

  • Hey Scott! Hell, if your "friends" can't appreciate your talents then thats their loss big time! Just hang out with all of us!!

  • winner after winner, dont know how you do it Bodine,i once had girl friend that looked like that camel, but man could she sing

  • Hi Freddy! Yeah, I know that girlfriend you had... I married her for a while until she left me to hang out with the French Foreign Legion! She wanted to be near the real Arabian sounding music. LOL & 8-)

  • That Camel/Diesel engine introduction makes one immediately sense this is going to be unusual - not to mention all the interactive scenarios involving a camel and truck. I really enjoyed it, Scott. What did you use for the deep resonant bass? Looking at the expression on the guitarist's face, we know who's the real slave driver in this Caravan.

  • Hi desertlight! I used Bass Viol, Orchestral Bass Drum, regular kit Bass Drum and Timpani for the low bass sound.

  • Hey Diesel... Man what a blast! I was right there in that caravan, sweating my eyebrows off! Then suddenly I was in the ol' West, watching a belly dancer (Don't know how that came into my mind!) Maybe it was one of those gorgeous gals in the saloon. I was half expecting a gunhawk to come in and shoot the guitar player out of spite! Cool Scott real cool.

    John

  • Hi John! I wish I was in a saloon right now watching a belly dancer! Wait! Don't let anyone shoot the Guitar player! That was me on Guitar... 8-)

  • I Know! Lol! be good and be lucky!

    John

  • Very cool video and real nice arrangement, Diesel! I was just in Egypt in August.

    Paul

  • Thanks for the visit and swell comment, Paul! That's cool that you were in Egypt! I hope you had a great time. I'd love to see some of those humongous Nile Perches! Oh, yeah, and all the cool pyramids and other relics from Antiquity!

  • woooo! i want to go to Eygpt now! ha! super duper playing Diesel, just fab! xx

  • Hi Nina! I'll be by to pick you up on my magic "flying carpet" for a trip to Egypt as soon as I vacuum and shampoo that crazy rug! LOL & 8-)

  • Ok then thats a deal! lol xx

  • Brilliant! Full of eastern promise, and some serious dromedary action as well! :o)

  • Thanks Derek. Maybe a little Dick Dale Surf action on the Guitar would have been cool? Too late now!

    Check this scale out... c - db - e - f - g - ab - bb - c.

    Or this scale variation... c - db - e - f - g - ab - b - c.

    Have fun! 8-)

  • Sounds familiar ... I recognise the three semitone jump from 'Misirlou'. Is that harmonic minor?

  • Hi Derek. Here's a comparison of the Harmonic Minor scale you're asking about with the 2 scales I previously mentioned:

    Harmonic Minor: c - d - eb - f - g - ab - b

    Jewish (Ahaba Rabba): c - db - e - f - g - ab - bb

    Double Harmonic: c - db - e - f - g - ab - b

  • Thanks for the info, DB! I'll have a play around with those.

  • Really love your arrangement ... and the camels contribution. Great work.

  • Thanks webpainter... the Camels thank you as well! 8-)

  • Too cool for school, Bodine.

    B.

PS. that is a stare.. but is it stoic?.. ..break out the shades, man!

    ..Walk like an Egyptian..

  • Hello Barry (useryug). I guess I better differentiate between the Barrys so you know my response goes to your comment! I don't have any Sunglasses. I guess I better get a pair. Hey, I don't have room in my flat to walk like an Egyptian. Too much stuff all over the place! LOL & 8-)

  • Great stuff Diesel, really nice swing going there, Duke knew how to write 'em, and you know how to play 'em !.

That Martin records a great sound, I want, I want !

  • Thanks Barry. I just shipped you my Martin Guitar. If it doesn't arrive it's because it got lost by the shipper. In the mean time, I'll play my other identical Martin on my new videos. LOL & 8-)

  • Maybe it's the stoic stare and middle finger while on the acoustic.

Seriously entertaining. I'm trying to create but I'm struggling... ~peace

  • Hi again, Heidi! You make some creative videos. The creative ones you make are some of my favorite videos of yours. Work through your struggles and you'll be making more of those videos. I look forward to seeing what you come up with! 8-)

  • Nice piece of art! I relate to this right now - perfect for my mood. :)

  • Hi Heidi! This is definitely a "mood" tune. It has "mood swings" as well. Ha, got some swing to it, too, in parts.

  • That is just amazing! Good job! I like the switching of FX and guitars throughout this video!

  • Thanks Gary. It's a little strange how this song has an Arabian sort of feel interwoven into it, but then goes off into a classic, but simple Jazz progression. glad you liked it. It kind of goes up and down in volume as well, which may get people a little crazy until they find the perfect volume to listen to it with.
