What Does Matter Is That Every Hindi Speaking Person In India can Understand Urdu because Urdu is Spoken Hindi except 10-15% of words.
So we know Urdu is not spoken Arab, Persian, Turkish.
We also know today that Parsus was a tribe in the Vedas, that Islam took over Persia (once a part of India's Territory just as Pak was once a part of Greater India) & it became Iran.

Pakistan just used it as their national language but it doesn't belong to the country natively.... Pakistan was always a part of the greater India for thousands of years.... Why do turkish or arabic people not understand Urdu?
The vocabulary of urdu came from persian,arabic and turkish but the meaning of their words is different in urdu.
Turkish can notify turkish words in urdu but unable to persian and

Hinduism is the oldest religion in the world and so are the literatures. Urdu is 900 years old as you said because it is 90% Hindi but written in Arabic. Arabic is very new to 700AD.

literary Urdu draws heavily on Persian and Arabic, literary Hindi draws heavily on Sanskrit and to a lesser extent Prakrit.
While the helping verbs are mostly common b/w these two lang also "tera" Mera" Chahiye" etc common.
Compare ur news channels with ur Movies u will found a great difference in their wording.
Now come to song lyrics
Qasam, Khuda, Ghazal, Tasaver, Gavara, Mojein, Mohabbat, Be-Qarari are pure urdu words which distinguish from hindi.

It does not mean that rest of words are hindi. Standard Hindi came in to being after the parition of british india i.e.hindu made modification in hindustani(urdu-hindi) and Sanskrit.

The great difference in Hindi and Urdu is that 900 million in India speak HIndi and everyone who speaks Hindi recognizes all of the words because they are Hindi. You can go to an Arabic song on Tube and claim it is Hindi, Urdu, whatever you want. Especially if you are a coward who would never tell a Hindi person to their face they are listening to an Urdu when you both know all the words are Hindi. Urdu is 80% Hindi. Very few people speak Urdu, but 1 billion in INDIA know Hindi, it came first.
