  • In the UK, the harmonica sample was used for The Old Grey Whistle Test on BBC2, LOL. I'm glad I have this album on vinyl from 1986.

  • mantronix, one of a kind till this day..

that sample stone fox chase by area code 615, very hard to find these days..its on my page though :) great sampled used later in the 80's as a classic house mix also..originally a country song mixed by great ny dj's.

  • Oh my goodness; this really takes me back. I wore this tape out! I really appreciate some good old school hip hop; it was fun back then!

  • Pure science.

  • Word! That's what they say. haha Maybe you like this one on my page. Intelligent Hoodlum along with good old Biz Markie and Big Daddy Kane. Check it out...

    Peace!

  • Its about time somebody started putting real hip-hop the way real blackfolks know it on this site. This is what we listened to in 87-88 as teenagers before mainstream morons jumped on the wagon and ruined it. You got to be down with mantronix; BDP; PE; EPMD; JVC Force; etc... before you start trying to mention these young clowns like lil wayne or soldier boy's ignorant ass.

  • Amen bro...You hit the spot right there...

  • Great minds think alike and weak ideas irritate my ears.

  • nothing like it, old school rules lol

  • "Let's take it back to the old skool, let's take it to Union Square..." lol (I don't even know where that is, but I know it's Dj Kool.)

  • LOL ur funny, union square is beautiful at night, lots of nice shops..times square is nicer..dancing in the streets, good atmosphere. been going there since i was a child.

  • i know times square from tv, never been their though or in nyc. but the way you describe the both, it sounds like fun to me.

  • union square was one of the hottest hip hop clubs in history.. even if you werent from ny and your were into hip hop you should know what that means... lol

its mentioned in one of the most controveral tracks ever made. " the bridge is over" by krs-1 ( BDP) the video was also filmed in that club in 1986.

i went to union square in 1986-1988..

red alert dee jayed there along with almighty KG...
