I think Obama's very tactful, tends to do a lot of work behind the scenes. If he had been open from the beginning in his defense of the Iranians, Ahmadinijad could have easily used it against the U.S. and the protestors. It might have turned the tide against the Green movement, and I think Obama knew that. I'm hoping he sees now as the right time to take a firmer stance, though.
