  • About those small cases of desktops, try to make something like a iMac, takes even less space than creating a small desktop that is even less than a half of that presented, making PC in or with monitor is better idea than creating another Desktop, but...if you want to walk around and connect your own data or something, then yes, smaller than half size of presented is great idea too.

  • I'm very sad that the Intel Atom processor exists, or the "netbooks" they run within. If there's one thing the Atom processor can't handle, it's loading and processing new information. This has to be one of the weakest, most incompetent processors for online browsing. I have wasted more time on my Samsung Series 5 Chromebook than was worth it.

It would be far less misleading to use "netbooks" only for Windows, local applications, as it is less demanding than interacting with the Internet.

  • Wow! You mean I can't actually DO anything with an Atom processor except look at it and a booted screen desktop? Yippee!!!! Intel Atom FFOORREEVVEERR.

    Puny processor!

  • Every time I watch this, I chuckle. Look at the pretty colours of the computers that don't actually do anything except be SLOWWWW!!!

  • In other words, since Intel Atom is slow, avoid it unless you're truly desperate for a computer. The Atom is puny. It is weak and can't handle HTML5 well enough to competently run Fieldrunners, for example. The GPU can't handle BioDigital Human, for another example.

But most remarkably, Intel is all talk in this video. Or do you think it's a mistake that she doesn't DO anything with the computers and chips other than talk?

    SSLLOOWW. Cheap.

I'd call it crap but the AMD E-359 is actually WORSE!

  • I noticed the host didn't actually show the Intel Atom processor in action ~ just still images on small computers.

Let me tell you that my Samsung Series 5 Chromebook with the latest Atom N570 1.66GHz dual-core is SLOW! I have to wait almost 20 seconds for Google Docs to load!

SLOW SLOW SLOW SLOW SLOW SLOW SLOW SLOW SLOW SLOW SLOW SLOW SLOW SLOW SLOW SLOW SLOW SLOW SLOW SLOW SLOW SLOW SLOW SLOW

Intel should be ashamed to display the Atom as anything better than last-resort chips for the poor.

  • will this run crysis 2 on ultra?

  • My uncul have intel Atom 1.33 ghz 2GB of ram and 250 gb hdd notebook

  • Fuck intel get AMD it burns intel like shit

  • @JackSparrowO Your fucking dumb.Intel have better processor then amd which is a fact, amd had been using a pentium 3 architecture until now which they finally hire some smart enginers to developed their own "bulldozer" architecture.

Besides intel's processor use less power then any amd's cheap ass processor.Sure argue for your fucking "price to performance ratio" but the fact is intel will save you money in a long run.

  • @TheStuffyBear :Look Asshole I dont have time for your shit. You knows AMD never tries to copy any thing from fucking Intel. AMD processors of same range and generation always excel Intel anytime at half the cash. AMD's arch is way better than Intels. If you dont understand how Not my problem.

  • @JackSparrowO Fact,an intel quad core outperforms a similar generation amd's quad core.It might cost more but your paying for the PERFORMANCE and LESSER POWER CONSUMPTION,in the end your getting your work done faster AND paying less for your electric bills. If you don't understand how to calculate it yourself then its not my problem.

  • So how does the Intel Atom 410 single core handle 720p or 1090p videos on 'YouTube'? Anybody please? Thanks.

  • Comment removed

  • @AudiophileTubes Not well if you're using 1 gig of ram, which is what I got.

  • 2:05 YouTubing!

  • This is so unprofessional. They should have found someone else to do this. Also, what is up with her eyes moving side to side, reading some huge printout and not memorizing her lines? So unprofessional.

  • I WANT THE N550 DUAL CORE ATOM NOW!!! INTEL!!!

  • Her eyes are hugee .

  • hi hamz ascnkkd

  • can it run crysis lol xD?

  • @iScream90 ahahahahahjahah

  • @iScream90 lmao

  • netbooks are great for people that love the sunlight and getting out much. but i guess everybody else likes being next to an outlet and getting pale as a mothaphucka.

  • I like my netbook and I rarely take it anyplace. Just use it to talk to people that won't use Steam so I can offload MSN/AIM/torrents to it instead. When I do go mobile, it's also great having around 10.5 hours battery life with wireless on, though.

  • i do to, but i mostly use it at school. plus i was just reacting to the older comments. LOL!

  • Lame, I would never want atom chip on a desktop

  • @Ewarzone2 eww yeah I know right? Shit i would rather have an Pentium 4.. And i'm talking single core

  • @MegaHolymoly and it was HT so win would c it as a dual core ^^ gotta love old p4's good time ))

  • @Ewarzone2 lol, the desktops they are showing in this video are only for basic computing, that's why they use the atom chip, and that's why they are so cheap.

  • Intel! Tell the companies that makes computers with your processors, that when Intel cut energy consumption by 20%, the computermanufacturers should not make the battery 20% smaller!

  • Cool! waiting this one new Atom for my next netbook.

  • ION2 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!....

  • wooo now the atom has weak graphics integrated so it can't be paired with the ion :-/

AMD might profit from this if they develop/produce a low-tdp netbook processor and work with nvidia, though.

  • Haha yeah, because AMD does not have a graphicsdepartment themself. :P

  • hmm AMD is together with ATI, sooo...

  • Yes, so why do you think that they would work with Nvidia when they got their own graphics department?!:P

  • All of this is true, but this new architecture will most likely choke on 1080p movies.

  • @TheWMhater the screen on netbooks isn't even 1080p, so that is kinda irrelevant :P

Most netbooks are 1024x600 (not even 720p), while some are 1366x768 (just above 720p; exactly 768p)

  • Atom dual core is far better on nVidia ION.. i don mind loosing a few backup minutes and a few extra box...compated to its performamce...looking fot ION 2 ...

  • What is your problem? Do you watch videos from Intels YouTube channel to masturbate?

    your language is TERRIBLE!!!

  • masturbate on ugly woman?!?!

    it looks horrible!!!

i am not englishman, so english is not my native language.

  • So your native language does not requre you to use a capital letter in the beginning of a sentence? And she is not ugly... Are you ugly? Cuz it seems you are masturbating instead of getting laid?

  • lol the "new" form factor...

The computer in a monitor has been around for a while..

    Your's is just smaller.

    lol

  • she has the charisma of a slice of bread.

  • Oh,and by the way.Pretty employees Intel's got :).

  • Nice chip but some old designs seem better than what they showed here. Can't wait to see what Asus does with it.

  • God damn I want to work at Intel...

  • ANTONI8403 xDD Hi from Russia ^^

  • :O excelent processor

  • Wow, twice as thick as a Macbook.

  • At 2:04 in the background you can see a huge graphics card

  • Start putting graphic cards in the net books so i can play civilization 4 plz.

  • It looks as though the netbooks still do not have support for FireWire ports. I do a lot of mobile video livestreaming, though it's cumbersome with the heavier laptops in my backpack. I wish that there was a netbook for the job, which really calls for FireWire, as DVcams don't stream video out on their USBs.

  • they should put theses in macs

  • Не дано. )

  • А по русски ?

  • А английский хоть немного понимать?

  • can u gift me a computer? im poor :(

  • please 20 bucks for a new host

  • AMD AMD AMD AMD IS THE BEST!!!!

  • INTEL RULES

  • stop looking at the cue cards, dammit!

  • AMD and intel NOW are not what they were. back in the day, AMD was the loud powerhouse company for gaming, intel was the slower but quiet business/general task company.....

now, intel has pretty much dominated an entirely new market (netbooks), they have almost 100% of the market while AMD is sitting on their hands...

i used to hate intel but after getting an MSI netbook with an atom processor....im a convert...AMD needs to get off their butts and grab some of this new market.

  • Yeah, i think Intel's much better.

  • horrible speaker/presenter

  • So pretty much you can load one webpage an hour!! :D

  • Intel.... .The Best

  • nice, but hey,it have the Gpu on it lol, RUN SUPER MARIO AT 5FPS FTW!!!!!!.

  • tell me about it

  • @HAMAZA7123 True, they should have concentrated on making the atom prossesor faster, and let the Ion do the graphics processing.

Apparently they just don't want Nvidia to make money, and they call it progress...

  • @FirsToStrike, i agree with you, since its not good for making a prossesor with a Gpu Chip, cuz you will and Might have Fram loss at HD or Even in gaming, but yeah its awesome for NetBooks ONLY NET, they should menchen that,or even say it in the video, but hey there is Prograsse

  • oh yes I want to spend $1800 on $600 at best worth of hardware... ya thats real smart ~_~

  • id buy that for a dollar

  • lets wait for the Sandy Bridge..

  • @9AndS someone else that knows about Sandy Bridge xD oh yeah!!

  • intel atom prssr

  • 1. another way to make money

    2. well like this isn't expected.

    3. she doesn't really benchmark the capabilites of the old atom compared to this atom.

  • So what they try to say in this video is, ''with Intel® Atom, you can make smaller computers''? Ok...but i think it's better to have a computer with Core(tm) Inside.

  • It all depend on your needs. The Atom processor is designed for low power devices like Home Servers, Notebooks, thin clients, etc. When your priority is small power consumption, this is the best guy to go with. Also, since it's a whole system on a chip, the motherboard is less complicated, smaller and cost less money.

If you don't do much more than word processing, internet browsing and listening to music and SD video on your computer, which is what 60% of people do, this CPU is well enough.

  • hmm I guess this solves Intels ION problem with nVidia lol by having the gpu built in pretty much eliminates the competitions options. Wonder how many lawsuits will pop up from this, also still wondering about the onboard videos hd playback if it will be able to handle at least 720, I hope so.

  • could someone explain to me how they can have a fanless design? do the atom processors really run that cool? I find that hard to believe because they said they have integrated the cpu and graphics core.

  • Yes, it really runs that cool, the CPU and chipset runs at a mere 7W (max) and as such a normal heatpipe cooler would be sufficient, as long as there's a large enough heat dissipation area.

  • It is becuase its on the same chip you can run with out a fan... Having less chips = less power = less heat. Besides the Dell Mini v9 uses the old Atom and it is also a fanless design.

  • that's really awesome...

  • i would love to see a revolution in video card world also, at the moment video cards are getting bigger and bigger and bigger, just for example ATI 5970 can't fit in most of the current cases, even many of the full tower cases

  • Well, that's because it's a high-end performance card. Intel's Atom processors are the most basic entry level x86 processors from Intel. Try comparing the upcoming six core Core i7 980X to a 5970 and you'll find it's not that power frugal, cool running and expensive...

  • yea the new 6 core is a core i9 actually

  • look at that mirror finish

  • Intel FTW!

  • What I would like to know is if these netbooks onboard video will be able to handle at least 720p HD playback for watching online HD content, thats currently the only real factor crippling these netbooks unless you go with the overpriced nvidia versions. Also a dualcore netbook would be nice to see. As for the person making the remakr about a small OS, I am running Windows 7 Ultimate on my ASUS 1000he netbook with zero issues.

  • i think the most importan is the ability of the GPU core

  • I think there needs to be OS's made for these underpowered machines. Don't get me wrong it's a great idea to make small affordable computers for doing basic computing, because most of the time it's all a person really needs, but I don't think they will reach their potential with any version of windows. Hopefully google will deliver a great product with chrome OS, and I'm dying to see what apple's rumored tablet brings to the table. But otherwise GREAT job intel!!

  • Nice, but the D510 dual cores with hyper-threading technology would be great too!

  • Intel FTW!

  • verry nice...

when can we see these processors hit the market ????? what are the specs & is it bases on the 32nm technology ???

  • based on 45nm tech and Jan. 4th is expected release date.

  • Thanx a lot

  • no worries, I have the press release posted on my site if you want to read up more on it. :)

  • :D!
