  • i havnt heard this song since i was a little boy sitn in my grandpas truck headn to the lake to go fishing. it used to be my favorite song.

  • I'd have to say that this song should be adapted as the state song of my homestate. They don't call us the Evergreen State for nothing!

  • Years later, this song is still one of my favorites.

  • Here Comes The SUN

  • I'm really glad I found this vid. I haven't heard this song since I was probably still in middle school or elementary school and I never forgot it. I always liked it. Hmm...why didn't I search for this before? >.>

  • Credit to the drummer exstraordinary....A good drummer-a good band--

  • 4 PEOPLE DONT LIKE THE RAIN....

  • So what if the Mavericks disbanded,Raul carried them. Now Raul is free to do his own thing. Raul rules!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @kimjob1 i so agree malo is da bomb

  • If Raul Malo sings it...I love it!!!

  • Love Them!!!

  • EXCELLENT VIDEO - GREAT GROUP

  • I wish that the Marvericks would get back together again! What CD's, what songs! Raul Malo is a brilliant composer!

  • @CarsonsGuitarLesson HANK SNOW is an absolute legend and Canadian

  • @CarsonsGuitarLesson and Terri Clark! Geez they are some great country artists!!

  • @CarsonsGuitarLesson Blink 182 is actually american, lol. I'm loving Doc Walker, if you really want some Canadian talent!

  • @CarsonsGuitarLesson ever heard of RUSH?!?!?

  • @CarsonsGuitarLesson What about The Guess Who?

  • @CarsonsGuitarLesson Stompin' Tom Connors and his talent findings across this country don't count for much, eh?

  • @CarsonsGuitarLesson Paul Brandt? Hank Snow? Terri Clark? Early Shania Twain? Michelle Wright, as the video poster pointed out (I've never heard of Lisa Brokup)?

  • @CarsonsGuitarLesson dont forget about Paul Brant! he's an amazing candian country singer....

  • @CarsonsGuitarLesson You Should Really Learn Music Before You Insult Canadian Music, Country to Rock to Metal. We Have More The Enough Talent In Mainstream Music. Wake Up.

  • @CarsonsGuitarLesson Prairie Oyster? Neko Case? Kathleen Edwards? C'mon, They are some of my favorites.

    Also, Charlie Major.

(I'm from the States and I know this)

  • @CarsonsGuitarLesson Hey Anne Murray and Terry Clark???

  • luvin' it!

  • Kind of like Orbison with a British flavor, pretty darn good!

  • @GANNAMEDE now that you mention it.. i agree :)

  • I'm a die hard country fan, 64 years old and a fan from age 7, but when I heard the Mavericks, I was blown away. I could not stop listening to them, got all of their CDs, and still want more. I love the mixture of country with the Latino sound. Hey, Johny Cash had horns on one of his records, and Bob Wills had a 16 piece band with lots of horns, so its not so unheard of.

  • @loverofcountry506070 sign up for the forum at raulmalo.com and meet some friends... you might be blessed with some "extra" Mavs/Raul malo stuff. :-) Ask in private message to someone.

  • @loverofcountry506070 I too have "fallen" for their style and talent, lovely. Only saw and heard of them the first time here on YouTube about a month ago...

  • @loverofcountry506070 I loved their mixture of old country and old rock. Raul's spannish flavored voice, Pete's cutting edge drumming, and the guitar work of Nick and Raul playing harmony. One thing that made the Mavericks sound was, since they did not have a steel guitar player, the use of horns, piano, and electric guitar two - part harmony in the place of the fiddle and steel guitar.

  • @schtheguitarman Whoops I mean Paul not Pete

  • @loverofcountry506070 i agree mavericks are awesome

  • I love the Mavericks-where are they? I miss them!

  • very distinct sound ...get back together and do it again!

  • As a rule, country music labels, country music radio and country music fans fear change. Heck, a lot of them still haven't gotten over General Lee's surrender in 1865, so God forbid anybody breaks out a trumpet to interfere with their twang.

  • Alright whoever directed this vid is a complete dumbass. I mean is this a country song or the shining? seriously

  • Er, no,actually. It is a verse that is a chorus- A repeated part of a song, also called the refrain. Usually, but not always, a "Chorus" is a refrain sung by a number of singers.Someday I may get a life and stop being so pedantic. But as you say, it's a nice song for sure!

  • This song should be on the minds of all Washingtonians. The reason I say this is because we have rain here and there, and I think of the rain when I hear this song.

  • The Mavericks are The Great Unknown American Band!!

  • Good week to all my American friends .... I always dream of setting foot on your continent ... really nice ... My life here is too strict on many point, France is not paradise .... but it is nice to dream elsewhere there are people who think to yourself if you do not speak the same language, music is a universal language and my choice for Americans is final! kisses to all my brothers and sisters of my heart that I love!

  • @zebulette1 Look at it this way, France isn't exactly known for winning wars. Although the citizens are known to be pretty badass when it comes to that good old fashioned "coup de eta" Hope I spelled that right, but what the hell.

  • ce groupe est superbe.... je l'adore! bisous SOPHIE

  • @zebulette1 YEah, French Stuff

  • Yup They're a dynamite band. Malo's new solo CD is pretty good, too -- it's growing on me, anyway, good truck-driving music. I wish they'd all lose some weight, lift some weights, and get back together. No more donuts, Raul!! :)

  • Great Song, great band, great voice.

    bluebayoufour

  • Two "things." This song/band is fantastico. The video production is equally good.

  • Great song by a great band. I saw them in Brighton some years ago and they just blew everyone away.

  • I love the music of the Mavericks. This song is one of my favorites. Thank you for posting

  • I like this song and vid...I'm pretty sure the director smokes a little crack now and then...

  • Holy shit, I haven't heard this song since I was a kid

  • I totally agree Fantom. That was the better of eras. The closest country station to your wish is XM has a station called Prime country. It plays 80's, 90's, and some aughts hits. The only country I listen to. The Mavericks rock!

  • Oh God I miss the Mavericks...and the 90's country.

  • 90's country was special it was almost as though garth brooks made the standard to which everyone else would have to reach. i wish they had a 90's country station as cmt was in the 90's before all this patriotic pro war garbage.

  • AW-COME ON ! Kiss and make up guys and start making the music again.

    Damm good song.

  • hell of a groupe OH WHAT ASHAME THEIR NOT MKEING KILLER MUSIC ANYMORE THANKS FOR THE ONES THEY DID THC3RD

  • I enjoyed their music. I'm not sure if it was the bass player or drummer, who was first married to Trisha Yearwood.

  • It was the bass player who was married to Trisha Yearwood.

  • Your love's a heartache That's torn me apart You've watched my heart break Right from the start You took everything you wanted And now that you are gone (Chorus 1) Here comes the rain Falling down on me I'm showered in pain Nothing remains Of what used to be
  • It's "verse" not "chorus." Nice song tho' for sure.

  • (Chorus 2) Here comes the night Dark as my soul There's no end in sight No shining light No love to hold Here comes the rain I must have been dreaming I must have been blind But I never thought you Could be so unkind Tomorrow I'll forget you But I can't forget you now
  • Thanks for posting-- this goes straight into my playlists. Only got into him recently by accident -wished I had discovered him earlier- What can this guy NOT sing well?

  • dont know about the rain. the sun comes out when Raul smiles, got it all gng on here. abso beautiful xx

  • is raul malo the guy singing ?

  • yes

  • Yes in deed

  • This song is so well written it's just amazing. The production and performance are right on the mark. And for pity's sake, the video has a Dano Longhorn doubleneck.

    What's not to love?

  • And a Vox teardrop bass to top it off.

  • Mavericks opened for Mary Chapin Carpenter back in i wanna say '94 or '95 in St Louis. Deakin opened it up with o what a crying shame. After their set we were gone. Sorry Mary. Opener/Headliner shouldve been reversed

  • 17 ..almost 18 n single haha..prob single because nobody my age has good music taste haha

  • lol i love all the Mavericks songs including this one!

  • these guys opened for hank williams jr at hunter mountain back in the mid 90s....sro and not just for hank...look at the results today....my own premonition.....play the hitzzzzz!!!

  • Raul must have written this about my cold cruel wife. It's custom made for her empty, cold and dark heart. But it's a great song.

  • I think I married your wife's twin sister!!

  • Either of you over 40 and now single? ;-P

  • I hate women like that, they make the rest us look bad.

  • i love this song by the mavericks
