It's quite simple actually; the religious tend to cherry-pick and whatever they don't like hearing they'll claim "out of context" or "metaphor", giving them confirmation bias, which is why they tend to only agree with verses that conform to what they already think.

But Jesus very clearly teaches that if your enemy wants your shirt then you should willingly hand him your coat as well, and if your enemy forces you to carry his pack then you should willingly carry it an extra mile for him. Clearly the vast majority of christians in modern societies do not behave like this, therefore they are not obeying Jesus.

@SuperMrAtheist You are correct that those who know Jesus obey His commands, but you have the process a bit off. You come to know Jesus through faith in Him. Faith is a full or complete trust that has been proven through a first act of obedience (which is patterned to be demonstrated in baptism). Abraham's faith became real when he acted on it. Upon faith, Jesus provides justification and also the very ability to obey Him through supernatural empowerment and renewal coming from His Spirit.

I experienced the forsaking of sin or actual repentance and what it means to put your whole trust in Jesus instead of just having a theology like an accessory. So I now experience His empowerment to obey which has been the most important thing that has happened in my life. Faith doesn't live in the land of proof, but of testimony.

@TheRaveous You do need to read the Bible to understand the heart of God...and clearly you do have to do some reading of the Bible to understand the beliefs of a Christian. In John chapter 1 we learn that Jesus is the Word and the Word is God. So if you do not get the Bible then you will never truly understand Jesus. Many people follow a Jesus they do not know...because the lack of a personal relationship with him (starts in the Word). And i told you.....No obedience+Doubt=No Belief= No Miracle.

@TheRaveous Plenty of Miracles happen all the time...some you actually have to be at Church to see and the Church has to be filled with the Spirit of God. I have seen people healed of back problems instantly and other things while the Holy Spirit was doing His work. Maybe you have personally not experienced or accredited a miracle in your life but they do happen. The Holy Spirit is who wrote the Bible...God decided to use people to write it and i don't think an animal would be a better choice?

At the end of Revelations God declares that no one can add or take away from this Book of Prophecy. So if a miracle happens you can always find if it lines up with God by looking at His Word. God can do anything except Lie. To Believe in Jesus you must believe His Word. Jesus Believed in the Bible as God's Word. Hitler killed himself and was an atheist.

Seeing how Genesis reveals all the right decisions and mistakes that Adam to Joseph would make....would not really be a test if all the answers were given. Real Christianity is virtually impossible to live out. It is not supposed to be mainstream, so i would agree with the Christians who say christianity isn't supposed to be mainstream or understood. Why every educated Christian disobeys Jesus? We are born into sin and wrong; you can't go around it. No one can be absolutely perfect. That's why Jesus died for us, he was perfect, and therefore could be able to save us.
Because we are human, humans make mistakes, we mess up, we aren't perfect like God is though we should strive to be like him. We always mess up but God is so forgiving and always forgives us so that we can one day live in Heaven. I don't want to start an argument but take to thought what I have said. You lose nothing if you are a Christian and athiests are right (no after life=nothing happens). You lose everything if you are an atheist and Christians are right and there is a Heaven and a Hell.

I just explained in my previous one that we all deserve Hell but through God's mercy, we can be saved and go to Heaven one day. You lose everything by being an atheist meant that you miss out of God's glory and Heaven and you suffer forever in Hell. Do you want that? There is nothing good there because God isn't there. Suffering, pain, torment, sadness, etc. Do you want that!

The OT has no concept of Hell as you see it; so - how can God banish someone to a non-existant place that has been "created" by humans themselves - and not by him?
Actually, there are many verses in the whole Bible on Hell. You can read them yourself since I am, "taking them out of context" and you can get a clear picture of what Hell is. (Mark 9:48 NIV) "...and the fire is not quenched." (Psalm 9:17 KJV) "The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God." (Luke 16:24 KJV) "...tormented in this flame." (Matthew 5:22 NIV) "...danger of the fire of hell." All these verses are referring to Hell, some NT and some OT.
I understand there are many verses on "Hell"...like I said previously; the OT and the "Pre-Christians" (same God), had no concept of the spiritual Hell that is touted today in order to fear monger...NO CONCEPT...they understood Sheol as simply "the Grave"...not another realm that God chooses if you get there or not.

Claiming "out of context" is a failed assumption, not even an argument...Fact is, you have no idea what the context is...aside from what the words say.
Out of context is using the verses to mean things they don't. Like Phillipians 4:13 "I can do all this through him who gives me strength." A lot of people believe that to mean that we can do anything fly, run speed of light, superpowers, etc. It doesn't mean that, that is using it out of context. What that verse means is that God gives us strength to carry out His will on earth, to bring others to Christ and we can do amazing things like that through Christ. Does that help?

(Romans 6:23) "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." We deserve to die for every sin we do, from a little lie to murder because even the smallest of sin can't be in Heaven with a perfect God but God showed mercy on us by giving us a chance to turn away from sin and choose life.

It's quite simple actually; the religious tend to cherry-pick and whatever they don't like hearing they'll claim "out of context" or "metaphor", giving them confirmation bias, which is why they tend to only agree with verses that conform to what they already think.
In this sense, their god(s) is essentially *them*, the primary reason why violent people have a violent god and gentle people have a gentle god, etc.

@SuperMrAtheist You are correct that those who know Jesus obey His commands, but you have the process a bit off. You come to know Jesus through faith in Him. Faith is a full or complete trust that has been proven through a first act of obedience (which is patterned to be demonstrated in baptism). Abraham's faith became real when he acted on it. Upon faith, Jesus provides justification and also the very ability to obey Him through supernatural empowerment and renewal coming from His Spirit.

@SuperMrAtheist At face value, I agree. I myself am now a born again Christian after having lived a disobedient life as a supposed Christian until I was 46 yo. I experienced the forsaking of sin or actual repentance and what it means to put your whole trust in Jesus instead of just having a theology like an accessory. So I now experience His empowerment to obey which has been the most important thing that has happened in my life. Faith doesn't live in the land of proof, but of testimony.

Lol the guy who made this video knows nothing about the Bible and has only read a few pages of God's Word. @TheRaveous You do need to read the Bible to understand the heart of God...and clearly you do have to do some reading of the Bible to understand the beliefs of a Christian. In John chapter 1 we learn that Jesus is the Word and the Word is God. So if you do not get the Bible then you will never truly understand Jesus. Many people follow a Jesus they do not know...because the lack of a personal relationship with him (starts in the Word). And i told you.....No obedience+Doubt=No Belief= No Miracle.

@TheRaveous Plenty of Miracles happen all the time...some you actually have to be at Church to see and the Church has to be filled with the Spirit of God. I have seen people healed of back problems instantly and other things while the Holy Spirit was doing His work. Maybe you have personally not experienced or accredited a miracle in your life but they do happen. The Holy Spirit is who wrote the Bible...God decided to use people to write it and i don't think an animal would be a better choice?

@TheRaveous God has left us His Word and the Word was complete with the revelation of John which is called Revelations. At the end of Revelations God declares that no one can add or take away from this Book of Prophecy. So if a miracle happens you can always find if it lines up with God by looking at His Word. God can do anything except Lie. To Believe in Jesus you must believe His Word. Jesus Believed in the Bible as God's Word. Hitler killed himself and was an atheist.

You fail to understand that God has decreed some laws that will always be active and line up with what He declared. {Galatians 6:7 Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. Seeing how Genesis reveals all the right decisions and mistakes that Adam to Joseph would make....would not really be a test if all the answers were given. The Old testament Prophets are the example set before Jesus came. Because we are human, humans make mistakes, we mess up, we aren't perfect like God is though we should strive to be like him. We always mess up but God is so forgiving and always forgives us so that we can one day live in Heaven. I don't want to start an argument but take to thought what I have said. You lose nothing if you are a Christian and athiests are right (no after life=nothing happens). You lose everything if you are an atheist and Christians are right and there is a Heaven and a Hell.

Actually, there are many verses in the whole Bible on Hell. You can read them yourself since I am, "taking them out of context" and you can get a clear picture of what Hell is. (Mark 9:48 NIV) "...and the fire is not quenched." (Psalm 9:17 KJV) "The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God." (Luke 16:24 KJV) "...tormented in this flame." (Matthew 5:22 NIV) "...danger of the fire of hell." All these verses are referring to Hell, some NT and some OT.

Out of context is using the verses to mean things they don't. Like Phillipians 4:13 "I can do all this through him who gives me strength." A lot of people believe that to mean that we can do anything fly, run speed of light, superpowers, etc. It doesn't mean that, that is using it out of context. What that verse means is that God gives us strength to carry out His will on earth, to bring others to Christ and we can do amazing things like that through Christ. Does that help?

(Romans 6:23) "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." The records office of the Herodian kings in Jerusalem was burned during the war. What was in Caesarea is gone also because they too were caught up in the fighting. Diocletian; Domitian cleaned out the Christian material & what was left was smashed by the Goths in AD 405. The NT Is fabricated, the OT connected to it; incomplete. So, where did the material come from?

Historical evidence will always be a debate, but like I said, I'm willing to hear you out. There are just books and books worth of debate and material, as you know. And there are many more verses that say otherwise. I guess again Jesus couldn’t make up his mind whether one is saved by faith or by works.

1. We have a military because of the fact that not everyone believes what we as christians believe. We must protect ourselves, and this has been proven time and time again. it is a necessary choice in this day and age.
2. It is a metaphor for showing selflessness, and to show that greed is an evil, sick thing to possess in your heart.
3. He's stating that you should have enough faith that you could leave these things behind and be confident that his plan is sound.

no, not at all. i believe you misinterpreted what i wrote. What i was saying is that we as christians understand that we must protect our country(USA for example) from other military forces by using a military force of our own(army, marines, etc.). it had nothing to do with atheists.

5. He's saying that in his name nothing is impossible. We are protected by a strong and powerful God and if it is in his plan for us to perform such miracles as drinking poison, we will do so. He never said; 'Drink poison'. He clearly stated that if it is in his plan, he will protect us from such dangers.
