That 98 sure sounds great... Seems to start up and run great. The 98 town sedan (like yours) didn't come standard with power windows and seats, but all other 98 series had power windows and 2-way power seat standard. There was an option package called "custom interior package" on the base (town sedan) 98 that offered those options, plus an upgraded interior with rear-seat center armrest
bah53, I finally got the power brake booster vacuum check valve. NOW! I have my breaks again and the carbs aren't getting too much air from the ruptured valve (that was replaced) also the gasket around the carb has gone bad, but that should arrive shortly. After 46 years, can;t be mad about that. Anyway, I'm happy to report I'm back on the road. What's crappy about the whole deal ' I lost another original part' but the important thing is we're rolling again... Keep posting these vids, and THANX
@bga4life Glad to hear you got it fixed. Hopefully if my money situation improves I will be able to fix all the little stuff thats wrong with mine and cruise it around town again.
I appreciate the vid, I also own a 1963 Oldsmobile 98 Holiday without the power features, I'm having a issue locating the power brake booster check valve that stands between the two hoses one leading from the Power Brake Bookster itself and the other leading to the base of the carb. Do you know the model number of this part and/or send my a clear pic of it.
It's funny to see an old car like this out live the crap that's made now....my sister had a 1993 Olds Acheiva and because of constant electrical problems and overheating that car has been parked since 2004 with 92,000 miles on it
OOOOOooo I love those big old 60s cars. The feel of that light steering and the big skinny hard steering wheel in your hands, and acres of vinyl bench seat. Bliss
My Dad had a 1963 Oldsmobile 98 with the same engine. It was a very good, powerful, and reliable car except for the transmission. The Roto Hydra-Matic gave him a lot of problems, eventually having to give it a complete rebuild.
Nice old car, reminds me of my 63 98 2 door sports coupe that was stolen from me about 10 years ago. It had electric wing windows, automatic shift console and factory rmp gauge. It also had a button down by the head light dimmer button on the floor that would let you change the radio stations. I had all the kids thinking I was magic. One of the few cars you can look out your back window to check your brake lights and turn signals. They don't make them like they use to
thanks for posting this! love seeing my beasts on the tube! a/c, autronic eye, power windows, seats , antennae, 394ci 330hp j code engine, exterior pancake mirrors, positract rearend , don't forget the speed bug" safety sentinel" , remote trunk release. nice car! want to sell some of the placards you have for the car? what song is in the background?

I'd love to see a non-music vid of this car driving. My first car, a 63 Cutlass had a Roto-Hydramatic.

Did you notice how quiet the cabin gets when he closes the door? Nice. I had one.

I think ill keep my placards with the car. The song is Rocket 88 by Ike Turner/Jackie Brenston. You should put up some vids of your car
